BTW, did you all see the crime pics of what looks like Caylee's book on the ground? The book she was reading at the nursing home the day before her death?

I saw the photo of the book. Did you see the old photo laying close to it? It looks to be of a man maybe in some type of uniform. Military perhaps?

Their attorney Brad Conway told Eyewitness News over the phone (raw interview) that Thursday's developments were the reasons the Anthonys are standing by their daughter Casey... The Anthonys have said repeatedly they weren't happy with the Orange County Sheriff's Office's investigation. They felt investigators were more focused on prosecuting Casey than looking for Caylee.

Thanks for the link. I blew it up. It doesn't look like a book to me. It appears to be leaves in the pattern of a square. But here's a thought....Does the meter reader read the meter at the nursing home or the Anthony home? Facination with the child?

Lol, don't hide behind the couch, It's a good thought. Maybe he remembers seeing her car on the road a certain day or something?

I'm think the meter reader is also going to be good for info on the water level in the area. Supposedly it's flooded every year from June on.

Right and I don't think he is dumb.

If he had anything to do with this and the body went discovered all this time he darn sure wouldn't be helping police find her.

Jennyb: I hate to say it but we have doubt now. You have 3 calls into this same spot by one person (either him or another meter reader, what are the odds 2 meter readers called in?) You have investigators who did not search the crime scene throughly and I say reasonable doubt shouts our way.

Hey just going out on a limb here, but if I were the defense, they could spin it that the meter reader knew or was related to Zanny the Nanny and that's how he came in contact with Caylee. Would be interesting to see what Caylee was wrapped in. Was she wearing the same clothes George last saw her in?

The defense doesn't really need to make a connection here, just put doubt in the mind of ONE juror. I have doubt now.

I think a juror would for a moment have doubt, then said juror would begin to ask her/himself, "Why didn't Casey come forward right away?" "Why the attempts to throw off the police?" and the million other questions posters have raised. This would settle the doubt. If Casey hadn't kept quiet and if her mother hadn't had to call the police because she wouldn't, she might have a shread of credibility.

It apears to me that this man wanted the body to be found, especially if he in fact ends up being the same meter man that called in 3 times in a row. I have read and heard about cases just like this where the perpetrator leads authorities back to the crime scene.

Since the A's home is so close to the crime scene he is probably their meter reader. Wasn't he reassigned to a different area for a few months or am I getting the facts wrong?

Like I said a good defense only has to raise the possibility that she didn't do it. We already have that here unless we find out more information on this guy. Jose could say he was an old boyfriend getting back at Casey, etc.

It's just not reasonable for me to think if in fact this guy called in 3 times in a row to report that Caylee might be there to stumble across her skull months later when he went to the same area to relieve himself. Now if he isn't the same guy that called in 3 times in a row, who the heck is the other meter reader who called in? What's with these meter readers? Does he know this guy? Are they connected? Are either of them connected to Casey to Caylee. If I were an investigator I ceratinly would have a lot of questions for both gentlemen.

I dont think this will raise reasonible doubt she didnt do it. If anything all it might show is that LE didnt follow up as good as they should of. IMO the defense its gonna use this as LE didnt see anything there at that time so the body was put there later. They will use the meter reader just to point out that the body wasnt put on that scene by there client. It all depends what evidense links KC to crime.JMO But thats just me

My understanding was that the meter reader was assigned to a different area sometime after the calls were made in August, and was just recently put back in the area. Somewhere I also read that due to the restraints of his job that his job could be in jeopardy if his boss were to find out he was searching in woods or whatever, hence the need for the whizzing story.
Either way, unless they find fingerprints of this meter reader inside that bag, I don't think its a big deal. The defense can't argue too much because if she were that close to the road, Casey's own parents failed to find her when they decided that knocking on every door was no longer important..If so, they possibly would have met the kid who told the reporters where they hung out, and as a parent, that may just be the place where George and Cindy would have looked themselves.
