The court date is today at 1 or 1:30 not yesterday.

I was hoping for some "news" -- some type of "bombshell" this morning ... and NOTHING !

Since everything "seems" to be "back to normal" today with Jury Selection, and everyone is back in court ...

I am starting to believe that yesterday's "shenanigans" byJB was a "publicity stunt" by a "publicity hound" ...:loser:

I think it maybe something to do with another case, he probably screwed up on a deadline, since we know he did that frequently. Something he knew had to be done that day and would only take a few hours. Not illness.

Murder trials take precedence over other trials or hearings. However, I do wonder who is handling his other cases. Because with this he would not have the ability to do any work on anything else.

It would be. I thought it was some sort of stalling tactic. I think he pretended to have diarrhea or something.

I hardly see the reason for Jose's absence being held secret. The judge simply did not announce the reason.
It wasn't as if the judge said in court - counsel is not present but we can't tell you why.
Sorry, just can't see where the word "secret" comes into the scene.

So if Jose had the hershey squirts, yesterday and did a shart in his pants, at lunch time, I would think he would not want that announced to the media and would be a personal reason not to come back to court, needed the rest of the day to get something to stop the problem.

IMHO JB knew full well that he had this hearing approaching and failed to make the necessary arrangements. He wanted a stall, delay and more stall tactic and thought this was the ticket. Due to having to leave abrubtley to take care of it I believe that in chambers yesterday HHJBP let the DT and most certainly Mr. Baezzzz have it! I also think that this is why the DT is being so very agreeable today thus far.

JB was due in court today @ 1:30 p.m. for a pre-trial hearing for a misdemeanor care regarding thefy of utilities.

Couple of things to clear some things up:
1. His docket tomorrow was a pretrial hearing for a theft of utilities (misdemeanor) anyone in his office could do that. There is also another for a criminal felony for next week too but JP said early that dockets would be cleared, so we can rule that one out.

2. I agree with you but can't see why that would require an afternoon off since you said that that had only actually been filed today - BUT that matter could be considered private between ICA and himself (and in the meanwhile give him a good reason ((in his eyes) to stall)

3. Here is the link for the foreclosure: Jose Baez Both Homes in Foreclosure - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community ... and I would consider that a private matter too but I thought it was done now.
