Why is Tommy Croslin still in St. Johns County custody?

  • #21
bolded by me...

I cannot.....come to any reasonable conclusion...why...Misty would have wanted to do something "drastic" to herself...while/after being interragated...IMO...it was something she could NOT live with...

Correct me if I am wrong...but...I believe this is the FIRST suicide "watch" of Misty...during this 20 months...and begs the question....WHY???
imo...

Ron probably assured her that he'd get them out of this... akin to Ron offering to "take" Hope's time for her. jmo

I pray this delay for Tommy spells progress for Haleigh...

would he be a witness for his father's hearing which is a couple of days after Misty's? IDK either. I too, am baffled.

Yes!!! I have often thought this. I can almost hear Ron telling Misty not to worry, it will all blow over, everything will be OK (re Haleigh as well as the drug thing).

Tommy's docket is updated (just saw it)

10/04/2010 73 NOTICE OF APPEAL
10/04/2010 74 DEFENDANT'S DIRECTIONS TO THE CLERK OF THE COURT
10/11/2010 75 LETTER TO THE HONORABLE SUSAN WRIGHT
10/11/2010 76 LETTER TO THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

He's going to say they treated him poorly and/or Werter didn't represent him very well maybe.
As always, thanks for the update, Dr Know?. I can't be certain, naturally, since we don't have all of the facts, but I suspect Tommy has grounds for an appeal.

This all could have been done from prison right?? He doesn't have to be in a county jail to appeal?
I don't know but him still being there is the only 'hope' I have right now that something is going on.

a while back didn't Tommy go to court and ask to be transfered somewhere else b/c he was being picked on or something to that effect? This is what i thought... but honestly who knows at this point.

Maybe he is going to testify for Misty, don't think it would be a smart move, but thats just me and MOOOOOOOO....... i would think though, if he is testifying for Misty on her Putnam charges, then why not keep him in Putnam, why send him to St. Johns only to be taken back to Putnam, waste of OUR money to tranport him, IMO.

i guess we will find out soon, but not soon enough, that's for sure! JMO

I do not know for sure, but suspect those letters are part of the appeal process. Hope is appealing and has similar notations on her docket. She has not yet had a hearing granted or denied, but the appeals court is looking at her case.

Tommy may have grounds, especially if the judge did not use the score sheet when sentencing him. Tommy's mandatory was 3 years, but he got 15 years. If his score sheet suggested less than 15 years was indicated, Tommy has a chance on appeal. The appellate court will look at all factors, including the score sheet and the judge's reasoning for imposing a higher sentence. All JMO.

I wonder ... if word in the jail/prison system is that Tommy is a baby-killer ... ?

If so, could the system be waiting for Tommy's placement as he's not headed to general population, rather, he's headed to a more secure situation?

:waitasec:

Of course, I hope the other possibility (wishful thinking?) is true. That he's being held for questioning by investigators in concert with Misty and LE is getting to the bottom of Haleigh's death prior to Misty's PC sentencing date ...

This is what I am hoping for also! If ONLY they would give a small presser each month, why are they so silent...could they not say, we are close to solving this or SOMETHING.

BBM

I'm hoping this is the case also. I'm hopeful they are in the midst of some very intense interrogations of both Misty and Tommy.

It is like disclosing an end date for the Afghan war, you tip off the bad guys that you are pulling out and they only have to hold out a bit longer.

The same with LE, if they share anything clues or info can be discerned by the Defense attorneys or perps that may help them wriggle off the hook.

LE needs to play hard ball, it is a tough game of poker with cards held closely to the chest and players wondering if to fold, call or, raise.

I'd love some news but not at the price of justice for HaLeigh .... soon.

Does anyone have a good guess for why Tommy has not returned to prison? .

They got feddup with him already and don't want him back?

Haha...I had thought of that too. Like, Franklin C.I. said no way, don't bring him back here!

DOC has him listed as out of custody by court order; Vinelink is saying out to court. And he was taken out to go to court, but has no further appearances scheduled at this time. It could be a cost factor in that transporting may be costly, but I am hoping it is because after a 5-week taste of prison, Tommy has decided it's time to talk.

They decided to wash their hands of him because he was stealing all of the soap for the showers...

I can totally see this..........I have always believed that Ron convinced Hope to plea the way that she did because his pleas in the past worked for him.

I think that this coming Tuesday will tell the story. If Misty does not talk and takes what the judge sentences her ,Tommy will go back to prison then. I think they are waiting on either one to talk before then, if they don't...send them on to prison and throw away the key, this may be the only Justice Haleigh gets.

Unless these two are talking w/o their attorneys, not much can be accomplished. Since tommy fired Werter, he may be talking. I wondr if LE is going to arrest tommy and misty and that is why they put off the sentencing and are keeping tommy local.

:waitasec: Would Fields have to have agreed to a postponement for Misty if the State asked for it or can they just make that call on their own? And if either Tommy or Misty are charged--wondering how much Fields would be kept in the loop and would they stay in their respective county "homes" vs going to FL DOC? I obviously no nothing about procedures....:blushing: but by keeping Tommy in SJC its hard not to think that something is up.....but what is it? :banghead:

according to Art, Misty is pointing at Tommy, & since there's been no retraction, I'm believing that. In the big sceme of things, Misty hasn't directly pointed at anybody, until now. Her pointing at Crystal & her side, was obviously Misty parroting Ron, her pointing at Joe & Tommy,( via the LVA), seemed like educated guesswork, (not much committment from her), & her pointing at Joe, via the Joe story, seemed like she was half-heartedly backing up Tommy's claims. Now, if Art's claim is true, Misty is finally, on her own, committing to blame...& I think LE is taking notice. So, IMO, that's why Tommy is still there. Misty may back away from this blame...she's already tried, by telling LE to talk to Tommy for answers, but I don't think they're gonna put up with that. She's gonna have to give a complete story, so they can either verify it, or blow holes in it, or they're gonna turn on her. I don't think she's gonna leave county, without somebody being charged with Haleigh's murder. I would imagine that Tommy has now turned on Misty, & is calling her a murderer...& that alone will push Misty to talk. It's gonna come down to who tells the most believable story, & can back it up. But, on the flip side, the last we heard from Tommy, on the subject of Haleigh, was that he was done talking, & there'd be no more info coming from him. So, I can imagine him sitting in his cell, staring straight ahead, & refusing to listen or talk. Tommy's mouth got him into a whole heap of trouble, & I think he realized a little too late, that he should've kept his trap shut-because unless he's telling the verifiable truth, LE's not buying his crap. But, Tommy has a cumpulsion, IMO, to control what LE's being told, & a real tendency to fall for LE's manipulations, so I think he's talking, or soon will.
