Kathy and I are praying for Waukesha tonight and all the kids, families, and community members affected by this senseless act. I'm grateful for the first responders and folks who acted quickly to help, and we are in contact with local partners as we await more information.

Police chief is on live presser. Suspect vehicle recovered, no other threat to the area, scene is now safe. There will be additional presser at 7:30, there is a POI.

JUST IN: The #Waukesha Chief of Police confirms more than 20 people were injured after a car sped through their Christmas parade today. He says the scene is now safe and they’ve located the vehicle involved. He also stated they do have a person of interest.

I was so hoping it would turn out to be accidental. Like a medical emergency or someone mistaking the gas pedal for the brake.

I feel if it was an accident, the vehicle would have stopped when it hit the first person. Instead, it appeared to literally keep plowing forward and then go through barricades.

That is just so depressing. My daughter grew up doing dance team. This is just hard to fathom that someone could purposely drive into a bunch of giggling young girls.
