Miss Anna Slamcarski, age 53, was reported missing on Aug 13, 1974 near Mauston, Wisconsin, and her body was found Aug 19, 1974. Her body was decomposing and partially nude. Most of her clothing was scattered on the ground. They considered she may have been sexually molested and the state crime lab reviewed evidence. However, on the same day that other papers reported her being found, the 8/21/74 Stevens Point Journal reports that the crime lab already concluded there was no foul play?, and the article goes on to say there were no traumatic injuries but additional tests would be made.
Found in a wooded area half a mile from her mobile home, in Lemonweir Township in Juneau County, five or six miles from Mauston. Her relatives in Indiana is who reported her missing. The coroner said she sometimes walked through the wooded area when returning to her home, but there was no path in the area she was found. (Wausau Daily Herald 8/21/1974)
