Dude is really standing up there saying the dead people are being ignored in all this.

Hey friends - checking in briefly, I’m in the mountains with limited service. Looks like prosecution did a nice job closing and DB was his usual self. Sending up positive thoughts for the jury to come to the correct conclusion. Standing with you all as we brace for a decision. We have bonded as a group watching this case. I look forward to checking in tomorrow to find the jury has found for a conviction.

Brooks exhibits the signs of a sociopath. He appears dead inside. He feels nothing.

All I can say is "You go girl!"

Just my thoughts.

That guy behind Brooks looks like he's been through the mill. Sending him a virtual hug.

All right. I'll have some takeaways from Brooks' closing remarks soon. But here's what I saw in the courtroom. And it was different than what I saw during the state's closing. THE JURY: Stoic. Staring at defendant. No overt emotion. Safe to say some jurors were stoney-faced

Other jurors, it seems, may have been straining to stay focused after what's been a long day in a very long trial. THE GALLERY: Far more quiet than during the state's closing. A lot of people shaking their heads following remarks, especially when Brooks' referenced the bible.

Others smirked, chuckled when Brooks told jurors to consider the things they "haven't been privileged to hear." He's accused the court of preventing him from introducing evidence. Massive sighs of relief from gallery when his closing came to an end. Tension eased in courtroom.

IMO, Sue Opper DA is a Honey Badger!
She don't take no s#*t!

She effectively steered the judge back on track, suggesting they let DB start his nonsense closing, to only object to his nonsense as required. We would have been stuck on replay otherwise .

She also verbally slapped DB upside the head with her rebuttal.

Wisconsin will miss her when she retires. She is a formidable force representing the people.

Agree! She is great. I'd like to buy her and the judge some flowers or a stiff drink, whichever they prefer!

1.) People who blow their horns are not intending to hit anyone, they are trying to warn people.

But, the brakes worked.

2.) Their was a recall for this car, a manufacturing defect that caused the vehicle to surge forward and not stoppable.

Why not make this claim on 11/21/21? Why not call a lawyer about suing Ford? Why not a scintilla of evidence to suggest this car had that defect and, in fact, the only expert to testify said the throttle was fine, as were the brakes.

3.) Panic attack

Never mentioned before.

Mr. Brooks never said "I" or "me", but referred to himself as "the defendant". He has asked himself many questions about why this happened, but never questioned that it was intentional because he knows it wasn't.

Honestly, his closing was a great, well-delivered and researched statement. He repeated things from famous trial lawyers' closings. It was a great job. It also revealed how intelligent he is.

Honestly, the DA was a dud in closing and rebuttal.

Jurors make up their minds long before the trial is over. Not to worry.

  • #174
Will they start deliberations tonight or wait until tomorrow?

@TeaTime with all due respect, I don't see Brooks as "intelligent". He is regurgitating information fed to him from another source.

Intelligent people have jobs, are self supported, and don't have lengthy criminal records, nor do they use a car as a weapon to hurt innocent people. His mother should be on trial as an accessory to murder. She gave him the keys to her car. Which he used to kill people.

He will think he will win on appeal.

He will continue to waste our tax money.

First with the appeals then with a cot, three meals a day, and two showers a week.

Just my thoughts.
