I signed up for the MyYearBook site mentioned. It allows people to sort by sex and age (oddly, it's 17+, not 18+) and area. I looked at all males in Green Bay, Wisconsin between the ages of 18-22 and none of the ones named John matched the ICE boy in any way. If you sign up and search, you can check real names by just hovering over the pics (they'll say something like x miles away from ___, age _, and on hovering, shows the person's first name). However, she might have the name wrong.

The site they are referencing is www.meetme.com. it is the old my yearbook site.site's

That's right! But, I can Google the relevant terms and receive a link from MyYearBook that redirects to the person's MeetMe profile. That way I can search by first name as well.

So far, only one moderate hit, could be the ICE boy + 2 years in age. Looking for a FB to see if it matches.

Here is a review of myyearbook / meetme .

www.commonsensemedia.org/website-reviews/meetme

Teens will find plenty of ways to make new acquaintances on Meet Me; users can video chat, IM or e-mail each other. However, since users range in age from 13 to 40-plus...

The site is free to join, but VIP memberships, which offers extra site currency, virtual gifts and other items, are also available and range from $6.99 to $19.99 a month.

Some user reviews are downright scary. Creep central is what many call it. Many users quickly realize a high amount of child predators - and no ability to delete their own accounts.

I would LOVE to know the Google search command to do that! Care to share your wisdom? I love learning all the tricks people have for getting various data. Thanks to NavySubMom I now know about dropping images in Google images. Tia!

In this case, I typed john "green bay, wisconsin" "myyearbook" (the quotes are important, it tells google you want the phrase exactly as is, so I won't get results for say, Green Bay Packers, or, College Yearbooks) and got a good number of results. Issue is that you can't specify a range of ages, so, while it's semi-helpful, the site search feature is also semi-helpful.

Site search:
age
gender
location

Google search:
name
location

Ok gotcha thanks! I thought you had a trick for searching those various other parameters like age, location, etc. directly from Google. I wish there was a way to do that. It seems like there should be.

Hi everyone :). I've been thinking, I don't believe this child is in school because someone would have recognized him by now. His picture has recieved alot of attention all over the world and no one can still identify him very strange. I also went to the MeetMe site and did my own search, none of those guys resembled this boy at all. But I did come across an article speaking about the dangers of the site, alot of young kids have had bad horrible experiences on that site that led to them being raped and so on :(. I was also surprised how many used there toddlers pictures for photos on that site. It shouldn't be allowed it is an adult site no reason for a babys picture to be up.

Someone claiming to be an adult would be receiving payment.

I think she meant an adult would be claiming payment not claiming to be an adult.

I have been sitting back, reading, watching all of this unfold. I really thought they would have identified this young man by now. Just a few thoughts I have been having:
I don't think this young man is a missing person. Some of u have stated that someone would have recognized him from school by now. My hunch is that perhaps he is not enrolled in a traditional school setting. Maybe he is homeschooled or is being "unschooled".

Not all media outlets have reported this story, so maybe it is being mixed up but a couple have reported that there is an adult present but not all of them have made that statement. ( will have to look for links- sorry). If there isn't an adult present in the sense of FORCING him to do his actions then could it be possible that he stumbled onto a predator online who has talked him into doing this for money or something? I'm not trying to accuse or condemn him- just opening my mind to all possibilities. Either way both of those scenarios would make him a victim :-(.

Another thing that has been on my mind that I would like to point out... I have a son that is around this age. My son is 14- which to me looks around the age of this young man AT THE TIME OF THE PHOTOS. That being said, my point is that it was stated that these photos could be up to 24 months old. For my son, in the past two years, his facial features have really changed... ALOT. I was recently looking at some photos from a couple of years ago with a friend who I didn't know at that time & she didn't even recognize my son bc he has changed so much. So we definitely need to keep that in mind when trying to put a name to this young man.

I sure hope this can get some closure soon so that these children involved can get out of their situation and into therapy.

I too think there is an adult present,

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlin...lp-identifying-teen-in-dangerous-environment/

According to the ICE press release, the boy is believed to be between the ages of 13 and 19, and possibly in Minnesota or western Wisconsin. He is thought to be with other children and at least one adult, but officials aren’t giving any other details about the video or the circumstances the boy is in.

'It is entirely possible this young man is not currently in Minnesota or Wisconsin, but has either a friend or relative in the area, or recently moved from one of those states,' he said.

It looks like he may be talking to another person - possibly an older person - off camera.

'We believe there's an adult involved in all of this,' said Mr Neudauer.

Thank u for the links I didn't have at the time! :-). Yes. I agree. Somewhere there HAS to be adult involvement.

You might want to take a look at this, it could provide another perspective:

http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/06/25/2867962/4-charged-with-running-foster.html

I had heard these kind of situations were out there. This article popped up when I was looking for something else, and it seemed like this link belongs here. This child could be in the middle of a living hell. Others were, and others still are.

I was told by the person who called for followup that I shouldn't discuss specific details of this case online. (I never said where I was discussing it)

Anyhoo, I've reached my limit emotionally on this case, have just closed out 37 separate windows involved (with two more to go) and need to get my head in a more positive place for a while.

The followup questions seemed to indicate that they know a lot more than we think.

So I really do think they have already IDed or are very close to it.

If it turns out however that this isn't over and after a while its still unsolved I will probably come back to it because I've invested so much emotion into it already.
