Now they are saying he was checking on his kids when he was shot.

Let's be real, he was probably going for some type of weapon.
I agree, he was going down into the foot well or glove box. His kids would have been in the back of the car presumably. So do LE just allow someone to go to their car to retrieve a weapon before they are allowed to shoot?

Senator Tammy Baldwin releases statement on Kenosha shooting of Jacob Blake

“The video from Kenosha of a Black man being shot is terrifying to watch and we need a full and independent investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice to get all the facts about this police shooting. As we pray for Jacob Blake to live, let peaceful protests lead the way to the answers we seek, and justice.”

Rep. Tip McGuire statement on officer-involved shooting

“I am shocked and horrified by what we saw tonight. In our city, a man was shot in the back seven times by police. We do not know the full details at this time, but I have been in contact with the Attorney General’s office this evening, and I am requesting an immediate investigation. My thoughts are with Jacob Blake as we all pray for his recovery.

“The status quo is unacceptable. Our community, our state, and our nation must take action to fundamentally change the systems and policies that time after time put black lives at risk. Black lives matter, and we must guarantee that the institutions entrusted with the duty of public safety values those lives.”

Black man shot multiple times by Wisconsin police; video of incident sparks social media backlash, protests

Bernice King, the daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., tweeted late Sunday night, in apparent reference to the shooting, “We shouldn’t have to see one more video of a Black human being brutalized and/or gunned down by police in a clear case of excessive or unwarranted force.”

She added, “Anybody who doesn’t believe we are beyond a state of emergency is choosing to lack empathy and awareness.”
It is terrible to watch and was terrible for his kids and fiance and LE too. I hope he recovers for their sakes but when cops believe lives are threatened they have to make split second decisions. He could have been about to threaten one of the kids' lives or retrieve a weapon against LE or anything.

I suspect once all this is said and done he goes back to prison.

Problem is, no one knows whether or not he was going for a gun in the car.

Follow directions of the officer. Don’t reach into a vehicle.

He could have been reaching for a lollipop. He could have been reaching for a gun. Would you be willing to bet your life, literally, that he was not reaching for a gun?
It does not take 7 shots at point blank range to stop a man.

He had a warrant out for his arrest.

Filed 7/7 2020 for Criminal Trespassing
Disorderly Conduct, 3rd Degree Sexual Assault, 2 charges for Domestic Abuse.
Cops are not a judge and jury, though.

And it does not take seven shots at point blank range to stop a person.

Point blank range. Seven shots.

Point blank range. Seven shots.
How many shots would have been acceptable then?

Point blank range. Seven shots.

They already tried to tase him, so what else do you suggest they do?

Stopping a person and executing one are very different things.

They did try and stop him, he didn't listen to their commands and he is in ICU in stable condition according to CNN.

I did not know all the shots hit JB. Do you have a link to a medical report issued?

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

If you shoot someone 7 times at point blank range, the reasonable expectation is death. The cop knew he was, in all likelihood, killing him.

I was about to ask the same thing. I don't believe its been stated how many times he was hit.
