A search party made up of Wenzel’s family, community members and a drone operator looked near the area where Oconto police were able to find a location on Wenzel’s phone. However, Marquardt said the phone’s battery had died. They searched in Abrams, Oconto, Brookside and the Pensaukee River. She said they did find something, but couldn’t share that piece of information with Action 2 News due to the ongoing investigation.

This was posted from the family of Jacob Wenzel.
We the family and people close to Jacob would like to thank absolutely everyone who has shared and spread the word about him. It has been a tremendous help. At this point we'd like it to go absolutely viral. There is a $1.2K cash reward pot going for any information pertaining to the situation.... Not much information is being shared publicly but police do have a lot of information just trying to fit the pieces together. But the main concern is that he is indeed missing. His phone was dictched and is no longer trackable. Tonight has been 4 days and everyone is worried sick.. thank you all again.
AND PLEASE NO NEGATIVITY ABOUT THIS SITUATION. what matters is we find him and bring him home... His brothers and I, his parents, family, his girlfriend, and her family is worried. Please continue to share his picture until he is found.

OCONTO, Wis. (WSAW) - “It makes no sense — they’ve never found nothing.”

For 16 months the mother of an Oconto man says she’s been kept in the dark about her son’s disappearance. She says he was taken on Halloween night in 2022 and killed in Adams County, but no one has ever been arrested. Now, her silence is over and she’s ready to bring the truth to light.

If you click through to his mother’s missing persons Facebook page, she has posts of conversations she has had. I’m having trouble understanding them but it sounds like he got in some trouble with people who wanted revenge of some sort.

Oconto is a police dept so it’s fairly better, but not much. I wouldn’t be surprised if only one overworked police officer has the case and they do nothing unless they get a tip. This is the case with Milwaukee, if you can believe it. One assigned officer for all those cases. Honestly at this point a pi would be helpful.

All of the sheriff’s departments are unconscionably bad at this. They are elected and not trained. They do an initial search and if you are lucky, a second one. All balls get dropped when sheriff’s change. They don’t generally even know how to do subpoenas of text records - which usually there’s only numbers, not the substance of the texts - and videos. They delay and crucial evidence is lost. It’s a sin they are in charge of anything this important.

Update, but on law enforcement side. I so wish I could see it. Nothing changed otherwise. Good to know they are working on this.
