I was looking for Furman’s quote about Denise being the target and came across this, sorry if repost:

Fuhrman: Jayme Closs' Captor Was 'Careful, Calculated,' Likely Committed Previous Crimes

“Fuhrman said it appears Patterson left no forensic evidence -- such as hair or a footprint -- at the crime scene.

"He had no criminal record. So even if he left DNA, he wouldn't be in a database. If he left fingerprints, they wouldn't be in a database," Fuhrman noted. "So I think they were presented with a very difficult case."“

I never did see his video interview saying he thought Denise was the target. That theory never made any sense to me. I wonder what info he had about the crime that made him think that? If anyone finds the video, please post. Thanks.

I do too and it sickens me to think about being under that bed. I imagine, if it was a typical twin size bed, it was not too many inches above the floor and her face was probably only inches away from the bottom surface of the frame or box-spring of the bed. She would not have been able to roll over and would have been lying on a hard surface for hours at a time. Being under that bed had to have been tortuous, and dark and terrifying.

It’s stated he even left her there for up to 12 hours at a time. I think it was said that he did so on Christmas Day. He told Jayme she had to hold it if she had to use the bathroom. I would NEVER make it 12hrs without peeing. Even dehydrated. I wonder how she did it? The only way I can conceive of maintaining my sanity while under a bed is to try to sleep. Close my eyes. I’m not sure how well she could sleep knowing he could return at any time, being scared. I honestly don’t want to know. I’m just in awe of her surviving it. And horrified that he did that. Ugh. jmo.

I hope LE gets search warrants for all computers in his possible world. Parents, grandparents, sister, brother.

They should view there cities as one large home and have high res cams with OCR software at main highway or access points.
Have the software pre programmed with sex offender plates ..segmented.. and have it communicate with other cities..

Not all aspects of minority report are bad..

Computers can tell u if car match’s plates, or if it’s stolen or expired tag..and I’m assuming You could have algorithm to ping that jakes car didn’t match his plate with right camera..

Always gonna be times cops or cop cars aren’t there... machines don’t get tired or need maple bars...

I have never heard of it referred to as the "kidnapping cord." That's why I find that part interesting. Had he considered kidnapping someone for a long time? Had he been reading up on it and planning it for a long time? Has he tried this before?
It seems like a term only criminals would use but maybe it is commonly called that so who knows?

That initial post seems like a lifetime ago. I recall that, because as soon as Fuhrman said that JLC was deceased, I thought he was being a total downer. Or whatever you call someone that is completely off-base in their views. This always felt, to me, that JLC was the target. Her being held somewhere, alive, was all that I could feel. jmo moo

You usually need a card to use the computers. At least in our libraries you do. You sign up and are allowed a certain amount of time.

Forgive me if I'm ignorant on this, but who cares what Mark Fuhrman thinks? Is this the same Mark Fuhrman from the OJ Simpson debacle? Is he a profiler or something now?

(edit) I see he's an author and appears on Sean Hannity's show from time to time to opine on crimes. Huh! I did not know that.

Doesn't it though?! I think I must have read that post 3, 4, or 5 times trying to understand how Fuhrman came to the conclusion that Denise was the target. I never did subscribe to that idea. It just didn't make sense to me. MOO

Yeah, I wonder about whether this was his first time or whether he got information by reading about similar crimes. I don't know b/c he didn't have a secure area to keep her.

A good bet: he stalked other girls and aborted those catches for some reason.

(Something is really bugging me about this discrepancy re: him being online, moo....can’t put my finger on it...this is not to say things did not go down as LE said they did...if he had an online presence then this is really important and we need to find it, moo. Even if it’s been scrubbed.

Yeah, it seems the Taurus was the only clue they had. I don't know why they didn't make the sighting of that car public after they realized that it might have significance. Sure, they would have been flooded with tips, but someone from Eau Claire Acres might have called it in. It's also possible he would have gotten rid of it, but even then, someone may have seen it abandoned or something and let LE know. It seems like a huge missed opportunity to me as well, though LE may have had a good reason for not making it public that I'm not seeing.

Also it just dawned on me. it's a needle in a hastack. ( I had a Taurus for while, couldn't figure out a few times why my key wouldn't work to unlock it, DOH wrong taurus,same color),
Plus they have a hostage situation. They have to tread very carefully, in order to keep Jayme alive. This guy is a time bomb no telling what he will do if spooked. Especially if he thinks they are closing in on him.
So greatful she escaped.
Maybe it's better it worked out the way it did. Because if they had tracked him down before then, it might have ended worse for Jayme, and LE involved.

I agree and the only variable that he didn't consider or know about was Molly and her barking. When she started yapping in the middle of the night that changed everything. The element of total surprise was gone although the family did not expect what happened next.

JP knew that Mollie alerted the family, yet he did not kill her.
She prevented his element of surprise.
I would think, he definitely wanted Mollie to pay.
Hearing the shot gun blast, Mollie was probably terrified, and hid under furniture, therefore saving her own life.

Yes, he said he learned their names from multiple news sites and social media. Though I wonder again if he could get info on her on social media without having a profile. Or maybe LE was wrong about him not having a "presence".

I completely agree. The only thing that might have solved this earlier is if someone called asking for a check of the cabin where she was being held. Many people did call the tipline specifically asking LE to check their vacant vacation cabins. LE offered this service and asked people to please check their cabins or ask LE and they would check. But the Patterson cabin was technically not vacant since JTP's family knew he was living there. The Gordon area neighbors said they hardly ever saw JTP there and walking by the cabin gave them a weird feeling due to all the abandoned cars on the property. But there was no way they could have known Jayme was there. I keep wondering if there was some way she could have been found but the answer keeps coming back as no-- it doesn't seem anything would have found her other than over-suspicious vacation home neighbors or JTP's own family suspecting something.

Presuming that previous visits by PP to see JP the music wasn't turned up; what thoughts PP now has knowing JC was upstairs hearing the music. Wonder if he questioned at at and what answer he received? Can not imagine PP's anguish.

You're right, and I don't want to second-guess LE. They may very well have had a good reason for keeping quiet on that.

LE has JC’s statement and evidence from the crime scene against which to compare JP’s claims. I haven’t noticed anything in the criminal complaint that seems implausible. I hear what you’re saying, though. IMO, most of the dubious “facts” come from tabloids like Radar and DM. Hard to know whether to believe what they report or not.

Yes, all I can say is it was in the flood of when everything was happening when they did not have much information yet but that it was one of the things said by Jayme to the dog walker. I am in no way saying they got it right but simply something they said she said early on--and may have even been while they were walking yet. I only answered to confirm that I also heard what the other poster did who asked about it. I cannot quote the source but even think it may have been a main TV network in the area because that is what I was watching that night. I thought the woman made a comment to her how she knew who she was after getting her name, and said do you have any idea how glad, how many people have been looking for you (paraphrasing by best recollection, Jayme said she did not know that. And then the part of asking where she was and being told Gordon. Just to clarify, hard to say if they got it right. There were many things that night that changed by the next day in the flurry of activity, etc. If it was said, it still would not be necessary to have it in the complaint though.
