I'm surprised JP wasn't wearing a bulletproof vest.

I was as well. I think it's because he likely refused it.
Also, the courts have to know the Closs family are not murderers.
This was a low- risk situation in court, IOW.

(If you watched it live you may not have thought so. I finally just got my blood pressure down lol)

I agree.
To see JP walking in feeling just fine, slyly smirking, makes me feel sick.
MOO.

He just needs to plead guilty. No trial. Go away. No more pictures or live video of him smiling. Nothing. Just go away. Let JC recover from this. I only hope her life will return to her as happy as it can be. Go away dude.

That’s what we’re all hoping for.

He’s getting life in prison regardless, and no trial would be in the best interest of all involved.

I know, right?
It really made me angry that he sat there with this smug look and then walks out and he is able to tell his relatives he loves them and they him.
JC won't ever be able to do that again.

Remember the letter JP'S dad gave to Jayme's aunt? Take a look at the 7:58 mark of the video. Are they answering with their own note? Could be anything but someone (family friend or atty?) Hands jp's dad something
I believe the note was from a reporter. Media was blocked from accessing family, and attorney's today.

Barron Co DA Brian Wright exits courtroom without speaking to reporters. Sheriff says Jake Patterson's defense attorneys are unlikely to make any kind of statement. #jaymecloss

It felt like a nervous smile due to the whole situation, indicating really poor social skills in the very least. But i detect some cockiness, too. Sheesh- he can’t even ACT solemn or remorseful in this setting!

I felt like when he walked out of the courtroom he was almost crying, like he lips were quivering. IDK...but then when he got to the door he looked like he was smiling to me.

Did anyone watch HLN last night? I was working and was wondering if it was worth watching.

Did anyone watch the Good Morning America segment this morning w/JP’s Father giving a message to the Closs family? (I think they are prepping for the plea agreement JMO)

This is totally just my opinion....
When I saw the video of JPs court appearance, I saw an extremely nervous coward. The smirk was two things.... 1. He was trying to convince his family he was ok. 2. He was a nervous wreck. Notice his herky jerky movements, the way he practically falls into the chair, his head and shoulders fidgeting around. Even his verbal responses were an effort to appear under control but he was far from it. He absolutely HATES social interactions and here he is the center of attention in a courtroom, all eyes on him. For him, this is the worst social situation for him to ever be in.

I don't see arrogance. I see him unable to escape this torture of being "center stage".

I take some satisfaction in that....

Also wonder if this will drive him to accept a deal just to avoid a trial. He would absolutely hate all of that attention. "I did it" so let's get on with it. Send me to prison where I can get back to isolating myself and dreaming of other fantasies.

I agree completely. I also don't think he's bragging or smirking or pleased with himself. I don't think he's ashamed either, but I do think he is uncomfortable with the world and his family looking at him.

I agree a lot. I couldn’t tell if he was pushed into chair or collapsed into it.

Do we know if he just saw family for first time in 60 days ?? Or do they visit with him prior to court appearance??

It looked like he sort of fell into it, to me. With his hands cuffed, he was probably off kilter.

I've wondered if his family is visiting him, or allowed to, as well.
