Please read about Scott’s mother. She kept giving her babies away. I think it was the doctor who told her to keep Scott.

Lots if info out there

I will have to do that. I did not dig that deep but i think I do remember hearing something about it back when now that you mention it. I am only going based on what I saw both sides going through during court process.

Even so, I was talking generally about families in such circumstances. Maybe she is not the best example.

I never even inferred that. The evidence is overwhelmingly but that does not mean it would be admissible at trial.

Let’s start with the traffic stop that led to the arrest of Patterson. In no way am I criticizing the police but very little is known about the stop. What if the attorney argued that there was no probable cause to stop the car? They’d be in real trouble since everything after that could be inadmissible.

How about the confession? What if the judge suppressed it?

I’ve been involved in hundreds of suppression hearings. Most are just formalities but you never know what is going to happen. I think that Patterson’s attorney was negligent not to ask for one.

They sure made a point of getting it on the record and saying he has wanted to plead guilty since day one. I would hope they made it more than clear to him that they could try for a suppression hearing and other options for a defense. If they did not, I get your point although I am no expert but their job is to provide him the best defense they can if he proceeds, I know that much.

We have zero idea of what he had been doing in his life,
True. I would think by now, the information would get out though. Nothing seems to stay hidden forever.

I never said that you did. That was just a question I asked you, because I wondered what you thought, there was no hidden meaning. Was Jayme's description of the car, not probable cause?

The classmates were tight lipped on a kid they knew for years.

My daughter’s in laws have a lake home and relatives in Minong. They heard a lot, but how much is fantasy I have no idea

Small areas if someone talks to the media, it can often be figured out who did and they can hear about it for doing so.

For instance, wasn't the classmate who said something to media the one who had her account hacked on social media and things posted some time back?

I don't doubt they talk locally. I would bet if it is like most places, there is much truth but also much gossip/rumor unconfirmed (even though it may be from through the years) combined with it.

just my own opinion though, i have no idea if it is the case here.

Jake Patterson Moved to New Jail
Two days after 21-year-old Jake Patterson pleaded guilty to killing the parents of 13-year-old Jayme Closs and holding her captive for months, he has been moved to a new jail.

[...]

This is the second time Patterson has been moved. He was initially housed in the Barron County Jail following his arrest in January. He was moved to the Polk County Jail because one of Jayme's relatives works at the Barron County facility.

WQOW reports Patterson will be in the Dunn County Jail until his sentencing on May 24. He is facing life in prison for two counts of first degree intentional homicide and an additional 40 years after pleading guilty to kidnapping.

Jayme Closs kidnapper moved to another jail
[...]

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald tells our ABC sister station, WQOW, in Eau Claire that Jake Patterson was moved to the Dunn County jail until his sentencing, which is scheduled on May 24.

Patterson had been in the Polk County Jail since January.

Fitzgerald said Patterson was transferred after Wednesday's hearing. He called it an "administrative" decision and said there were not any issues or threats that prompted the move.

Hmm. Both Polk and Dunn adjoin Barron. I wonder what happened, if anything.

There were no issues or threats that prompted the move. See above post - I slipped another article into it while you were typing, apparently. ;)

It really gets on my nerves that JP can have two 20 minute visits a day everyday while at the Dunn County Jail.

I know the incarceration is supposed to be the punishment but murdering two innocent people in their home and kidnapping a child for 80+ days shouldn't leave room for any frills, if you ask me!

You did slip two in there! Sneaky :) I only see where it says it is an administrative decision in both articles. That is what was also said when it was about a relative of JC at the Barron jail. Just my opinion but no matter what the reason, I think it could always be called probably an administrative decision no matter what the reason behind it.

It doesn't matter though because I doubt anything occurred necessarily because neither county seat is much farther away than the other from Barron and inmates probably in both would know about this crime. It could be so simple as to which had more room or could accommodate I guess.

So he has a new home...

He hasn't had much of a life. An extreme loner in HS, a suspected issue with one known girlfriend after breakup, multiple jobs held only a couple days, handyman/helper locally, read survival and military books/articles, and only lasted five weeks during Marine boot, no known prior criminal record.

Saw Jayme at bus stop and decided that was the girl he wanted. Rest is history. Not much of a known life.

He has not been sentenced yet

I think people know lors of things. They simply are not talking to the media.
He lived in a small area for years while growing up. There is no way that there are not things that happened

Not sure what you're saying. He has been convicted of the crimes. I was just expressing how much I want him punished ASAP but I realize the worst of it will be in real big-boy prison.

National TV documentary on Jayme Closs promises 'exclusive interviews' and 'new details'

Article states new details and interviews.

JC is not a participant.

Round table discussion of six former victims (Gina DeJesus, Katie Beers, Kara Robinson Chamberlin, Alicia Kozakiewicz, Denise Huskins and Sarah Maynard).

90 minutes.
Tht article makes it sound like the family does not approve. If that is the case, I’m super surprised Elizabeth Smart would move forward with it.

I don’t blame them if there not happy about it. A horrific tragedy like this should not be sensationalised for profit shame on Lifetime.

He has been convicted but not sentenced. Of course it would never happen, but he could be released on his own recognizance. Until he is sentenced, he gets all of those great jail prvileges

Family stated on FB that they do not approve of the inclusion of Jayce's story in the upcoming Documentary. Focused on recovery and hopes media will step back.
