DA is doing an excellent job laying out and articulating the crime IMO. I agree 100% with the DA that JP would do this again if he was free.
I agree, fantastic job that is keeping me in goosebumps... MOO

State recommends Max on all counts, as the victim statements have recommended.

Is the defense really going this route?

I have a bad feeling whatever JTP gets is going to be appealed like beating a dead horse

An incredibly powerful statement from #JaymeCloss via her attorney at Jake Patterson's sentencing hearing today in Barron, WI.

Hey, Defense, he plead guilty. Stop putting doubt in it.

I don't know how defense attorneys can do this with a straight face.

Jones talking is like taking a sleepy sedative.

By the way, the defense attorney did a decent job at arguing for why the judge might not give life... so that he can get certain services that are unavailable to life prisoners, but with the understanding that he will never be released.

I am not certain how I feel about this argument, but I think it was a good approach to take. By claiming "he knows he will die in prison regardless of the ruling."

I just don't know how they can defend the man...but I do understand that it is their job. I came in late to listening, so missed the family statements. I read what Jayme wrote. That child is truly something else. My heart feels so sad for this family and this brave little girl. She WILL go on to do great things.

“Jamie was found”. No! She escaped from your horrible client.

Maybe he didn't want to look at you because he's sorry HE GOT CAUGHT! ugh!

He wasn't sorry for 88 days.

Many, many tears here . . . I will wear blue for Jayme today.

May the 🤬🤬🤬 get exactly what he deserves.

Poor, poor JTP. These attorneys disgust me!

Are they seriously asking for early release after 20 years??? I realize they have to adhere to the state guidelines but OMG.

Jake Patterson’s lawyer asks Judge for consideration of parole in his sentence, understanding Patterson would not ever be released, but that the chance for parole gives prisoners opportunities to be productive behind bars #JaymeCloss @FOX9

Richard Jones, Patterson's other attorney, said Patterson is burdened by the weight of his actions. He first became emotional when he realized his crimes would also impact his family. #JaymeCloss

That’s hilarious.

His lawyer must moonlight as a stand up comedian.

One of those guys with a dry sense of humor.

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt"

- I think these defense attorneys need to be reminded of this quote.

Defense is bringing up that JTP only ever got a parking ticket once before these crimes... REALLY?!? What the heck does that have to do with anything? He murdered two people and kidnapped a 13 year old girl!!!!
