AMBER ALERT WI - Jayme Closs, 13, Barron, missing after parents found shot, 15 Oct 2018 *endangered* #10

Hi all - looong time lurker and first time poster. Long story short, I've been following WS for a few years now (family connection to the Allison Feldman murder in AZ) and living in WI, only about 3.5 hours from Barron and having a cabin about 2.5 hours from there, it's somewhat "close to home".

First - the main thing I want to not for anyone searching out vehicle connections (and yes, I've sent this to the Sheriff's Dept. as well) is the pics they have of the Acura MDX are the 2007-2013 model (second gen). I owned an '08 in the past (black, ironically enough) and the years they have listed cover two different and very different-looking generations. The 1st gen 2001-2006 actually would look more similar to a Ford Edge. Not being that far from MSP, I could see an older MDX easily in this area, despite being more of a "foreign", city-dweller type vehicle (to stereotype a bit). Have they released any actual vehicle footage that would help narrow it down? The stock pics don't do much and don't really help get public input to verify the year/model...I've been astounded by the minute details some people can pick out even in a grainy video clip to really help.

I'll add to the chorus here that gunshots in the northwood and rural areas are common, day or night. Our cabin backs on to state land on two sides and there's a shooting range on the backside of our lake where people frequently do target practice for hours upon hours on the weekends (I got hit by some random birdshot last summer while fishing, thankfully on the way down at the end of its range...the local Sheriff had people rearrange the targets for obvious safety reasons). People will frequently "hunt" coyotes and/or wolves at night around there, so it's not out of the norm for loud bangs at just about any hour. Especially with the change in daylight times, dark is starting earlier and earlier, so while it's dark, it's not really that late.

Anyway, I have a hundred theories and a thousand thoughts running through my head about this and have been following the case from the beginning (Amber alert on my phone went off disrupting my GPS/Maps as we were using then to navigate Chicago through traffic/construction on our way back from vacation last week!), but I can pretty much disprove them all with what we think we know vs. what we know are facts (which is very little right now). Hoping for a good outcome, or at least as good as it can be, considering the known status of the parents.

Great first post, Panda.

Unless and until it’s established that it was Jayme’s voice heard yelling in the background during the 911 call, it’s not a foregone conclusion the suspect(s) and Jayme lingered at the scene the entire ~30 minutes.
According to LE , they are basing the fact that Jayme was in the home during the 911 call based on what they heard in the 911 call.
Sheriff: Closs' parents were fatally shot, Jayme was home during shooting

I've never posted before, and I'm not even sure this is allowed, but I don't know what else to do with the information. Of course us websleuths do our share of Facebook stalking. I found a Facebook profile posting of Denise's brother Steve from 2016... tell me this isn't the EXACT car they're currently looking for?!

That looks pretty darn close to me!

I mean I guess if the camera they saw the car was crappy you could get these two cars confused. Then again there are big difference from challenger to a 72 mustang. I bet Mona Lisa Vito could tell the difference though

I'm still a few pages behind but going to go ahead and comment on the search.
If all available areas aren't searched, they can't be eliminated.
(need coffee...that's obvious)
I'm so hoping LE has big clues and that today they find answers.
That community needs peace and Jayme's remaining family and friends need hope.

I have to be on the road most of the day driving. Is there a channel on Sirius XM that might be good to tune into for any updates? It does not seem like the main channels CNN, Fox etc are covering this case.

Or is there somewhere to tune into on my mobile phone and just have it streaming on the passenger seat?

From the live video:

They’re first starting off in the city of Barron.

Later on they’re going to move into the fields.

They are asking searchers to look for anything suspicious, … e.g., girls clothing, cell phones, anything odd, especially out in the fields.

ETA: This part of the live video was captured during State Patrol briefing of one of the seemingly many different volunteer groups, and therefore assignment of search area may likely vary between groups. Jmo

I would be a good assumption that all the bedrooms were upstairs then. Maybe there was only 1 on the first floor. I know some houses like that.
Doesn’t look like a two-story house in the photos. Perhaps the fact that the garage is under the main floor due to layout of land. Upstairs could refer to main floor. Imo

I agree with zecats that the house looks like a one-storey raised bungalow, so the front door would be on the "upstairs"/ground level.

It also looks like the lot may drop off enough at the rear to facilitate a rear entrance/exit from the basement/lower level.

If a friend or relative knows something “unseemly” or suspicious about the family but are afraid to say anything because it will make the town or the family look bad, I encourage them to come forward. If a targeted attack, somebody knows something. The police are likely aware at this point, but are no closer to finding those involved. Once the suspect(s) are apprehended, they still won’t be able to disclose all details in order to build their case. Meanwhile, we are left to speculate.

We shot a coyote at 3 am awhile back. Not a single neighbor said a word until we face booked everyone several days later to let them what happened. Some neighbors didn't hear a thing, others simply replied that they DID recall hearing that, and just assumed someone shot a fox or something. In rural farming communities, it's just not that alarming to hear gunshots. It happens alot.

Your absolutely correct.......I wouldn't of gotten up & truthfully not of went outside to see the commotion. In the country there are no street lights to see what is in the dark.
