Sheriff Fitzgerald is quoted as saying at an Oct. 17 news conference, "[Jayme's] parents died from gunshot wounds. That’s why we are ruling this a homicide."

Picture day according to the school calendar was 9/4. A lot of the schools in the area use Life Touch as their provider. All their photos are digital, so would it be unusual to have school pictures already - no. Our kids had orientation/picture taken the week right before Labor Day and we received the photos the first week of October.
Sounds about right. Great screen name, BTW. I needed the laugh.Lifetouch came to my kid's daycare to do their school pics and they quoted us 2-3 weeks to get the photos. It took exactly 3 weeks. Totally possible
Do pervs/pedophiles behave like that? Breaking through a door, and killing two adults...all just to grab a <modsnipped unnecessary comment> 13 year old?
A small town, modern technology, DNA, people know each other in town and at their work places and it's been 10 days! No progress no suspects that we know of. This is not impressive.
You may want to review page 1 of thread -both died of gunshot - no mention of other injuriesAnyone else think those 2 gun shots were what killed the dad and the mom was killed another way? I think most people would shoot at least twice at an target and there were no other gunshots heard unless the neighbors slept through it.
I disagree with you here, but I can certainly see how that conclusion can be drawn. In my view, stating that the dog only wants chicken wouldn't be speaking to a captor. That's a bit more intimately crafted, IMO. The rest could go either way for me.
JMO.
Me too. She really did looked confused and saddened. I'm grateful the aunt was so loving with her. And Molly with the aunt. They both need that connection.Seeing Molly's sad eyes had me crying like a baby. That pup misses her humans! Down here in Southeastern Wisconsin...We are praying for ya Jayme! I don't know..anything to get Jayme back for sure. But this person did just brutally murder 2 people. Her parents.Right. Right now it's all just a little misunderstanding. We know you didn't mean to hurt anyone, that you're not going to hurt Jayme. You like her. You can work with us. Here's her dog!
It's not a bad idea.
She was “scripted” (to some aspects) and she went over and over this SEVERAL times before she actually went on air. This is VERY typical for the FBI to do... you also note that as soon as she was done she was escorted back into the building immediately! That’s why she had the “weird vibe”.
She was used to help “get” to the people that have Jayme or to Jayme. This tactic was used in the Smart girl case and SEVERAL others.
Praying for you everyday Jayme... it’s time to come home sweetheart!

I've been thinking the aunt's words could also have been crafted to give Jayme the motivation and courage to try to escape if she's being held captive somewhere. At this point, with few leads for LE to go on (at least as far as we know, anyway), her best chance at survival may be to save herself. Reminding her of what she has waiting for her at home, despite the deaths of her parents, may help keep her focused on getting away or somehow signaling for help. This could be seen as a laundry list of reasons to go on living — all that you have waiting for you, all of those who are longing for you.
- Your family and friends miss you so much — your sparkling eyes, your bright smile, your soft little giggles
- Your dog Molly is waiting for you. She’s sleeping in one of your sweatshirts — and will only eat chicken.
- Grandpa needs new artwork on his fridge.
- Aunt Susie wants to go jogging in the park with you
- that girls shopping date we planned
- your favorite iced coffee
Someone had asked further up on these two subjects:

Someone asked about trains - the experience we have in western WI - the trains hauling are generally very long, very heavy and haul fast in the nighttime. In my area, tracks are owned by BNSF and CN. It’s more common to be hauling sand hoppers (Bloomer is right down the road - sand mines with product hauling to Canada or points south like TX or OK), liquid tankers, shipping containers or semi trailers, not as many box cars. A question I’d have is how many crossings does the train track nearby have heading to town? The trains will signal as they get closer w their air horns - loud and long and frequent especially if they are coming into a town with a lot of crossings. I know anywhere from 10pm -5am our trains are fast, loud and maybe if one was going through when those two gun shots were heard maybe it muffled other noises that could otherwise be discerned clearly.
