I mean it could be one of those things where maybe someone is acting odd or strange and it goes unnoticed. When he does get caught people will see in hindsight something was off about them. I think anyway

YES. we see that a lot. Later people say " yah, I thought that was weird but I didn't know what to do about it.'

And/Or they were looking for something of perceived value that took 20-30 minutes.
That would make sense, but I haven’t heard anything that makes me think that these people could have been targeted for that particular reason.

They appeared to be hard working middle class Americans with no criminal connection.

Treading carefully here, but a few things did strike me as odd in this press conference. It was almost as if the family were trying to appeal to Jayme to come home...as if she had a choice in the matter.

I don't know...maybe I'm just tired and off my game.

Jayme is a victim regardless of the circumstance. With that said, I have to say that I agree with you. I'm a northerner. Spent a lot of time in Wisconsin and love many people with that WI/MI accent and energy that her aunts have. I have that tough Chicago energy myself. I guess all I can really say is that there was palpable anger in the air (which is 100% understandable).

I really wonder if LE and the family have a suspect in mind but for obvious reasons are keeping that information very close to the chest. Makes me think that this was personal and Jayme knows her abductor. When the aunt pulled out the Starbucks drink, it seems almost to me that she was talking to the perp in a way of like "you know this about Jayme".

Its just a unusual move to pull out a drink and have the dog there so I think it's understandable that people are questioning why and talking about it.

I was thinking along the lines of Jayme hiding, and/or mom. Unsubstantiated reports of her being found barricaded in the bathroom - possible it took them longer to breach that door for some reason. All speculation/thinking out loud, of course.

Unless maybe they are from out of town and don't pay much attention to the news.

True, but if I recall correctly LE didn't ask for the owners of those vehicles to come forward. Rather, I think I recall that they asked for anyone who may have seen them to come forward. That's an important distinction, IMO.

Also, there were likely quite a few cars and trucks on that fairly busy highway that night, and equally as many vehicles driving through the couple of associated towns/communities. Why are those two vehicles the only points of interest?

JMO.

We don't know what the company is doing behind the scenes though, so no, for me it doesn't feel off whatsoever. JMO

Remember in the MT case, we were wondering abt the tiny award offered by the power co-op, but really it was just a start. In the meantime, family & community members & businesses were working with Crime Stoppers to pool funds for the most enticing reward. It’s really too early to say the Closs’s employers are doing nothing. I’m betting they’re working on contributing in all sorts of ways.
A fund established for the family of the late Jim and Denise Closs, and their daughter, Jayme, could reach at least $30,000 this week, according to a family member.

JS said one donor had already offered $10,000, and has information that Jennie-O Turkey Store, where Jim and Denise Closs were employed, has also been gathering donations.

“I have heard that (the Jennie-O donations) could be at $20,000,” JS said.

IF Dad was shot entering the house, then maybe Mom grabbed a gun, so she was then shot? Maybe the perp only planned to shoot Dad, until he suddenly had a wife and daughter to deal with...i.e if he was followed home, road rage or a grudge etc...

I have a family member that has been in LE for 20 years. He was already aware of this case obviously due to the amber alerts, etc. We are about 15 hours away from Barron, Wi so I just showed him the press conference where the aunts were speaking. He said it was extremely calculated and thinks this might explain part of the aunts demeanor for those who feel she didn't seem emotional enough. I told him that a lot of people (not all) seemed to feel a "weird vibe" from the press conference as a whole (based on what I have read). He said it might feel weird to someone who doesn't know the objective, whatever that is supposed to mean. Just wanted to share.

I think he meant the message wasn’t meant for us to understand. I’m sure everything (wording, props, etc) makes complete sense to whomever the message is truly intended for. Thank you for sharing his insight, gives me a bit of a different perspective!

Regarding the Starbucks in the PC...

Being a native of Rice Lake I go there at least a couple of times a year as I my siblings and many friends live there. I am not aware of any Starbucks in the area - can someone help me here? I know they sell the canned and bottled Starbucks in the local convenience stores such as Kwik-Trip but not the freshly brewed. If nothing else I would like to know of one in the area for my next rip there in November as I enjoy their fresh hot coffee.

The drink shown by the aunt in the presser was the type in the glass bottles sold everywhere like this:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Starbuck...5035&wl11=online&wl12=516771576&wl13=&veh=sem

I hope people are keeping an eye out for anyone suspicious buying these in bulk at Walmart or other grocery stores. And especially if someone notices a person that they know that never drank this type of beverage before but suddenly has a stock of them in the fridge at home or perhaps suddenly has several of the glass bottles in their recycle bin. JMO.

<modsnip - off topic>

Jayme is a child. And no twisted killer has accused her of a crime she clearly didn’t commit. We have zero information that indicates Jayme is anything other than a victim. TOS prevent me from suggesting how others should post, so I will just say if I were interested in entertaining “victim vs perp” theories I would start a private thread and invite like-minded posters to join that conversation.

What does this even mean? “No twisted killer has accused her of a crime...”

That is a bizarre statement. If you are responding to my post, I was simply making the point that calling her “Little Jayme” and “Little Princess” is infantalizing her. That’s it. I did not have any “perp theory” attached.
I guess one could have read it differently?

That by saying she isn’t a little kid, that meant something more sinister. But it didn’t. Just a war of words.

Hi PommyMommy... are these donations to go towards a reward or just general donations for the family?
