It's confusing, yes, but I think the consensus here is that the dispatcher was advised by the first responder, not the other way around.
True. I was wrong and am deleting my post. This isnt the first time Ive been confused by that log. I need to stop looking at it.

I'm just going by what was reported. According to the grandfather he was at work. So if that's not the case we would have to assume he was lying or that his son was. I have no reason to think he was not being truthful. Jmo
I understand. It's something that keeps gnawing at me tho. I don't recall LE saying he was at work.

But if he was at work, he could not have been home by 12:31 am unless neighbor misread clock or he was not at work (or left early).
Since we don't know his work hours, we don't know when he arrived home.

Regarding crossing into Canada, I've crossed into Canada from MN frequently, because our family owns property up there. All of the border crossings have computer information at their fingertips, including ALERTS. I once forgot my passport, and they just went into their computer and used my DL info to find me. They also had my passport info IN THEIR COMPUTER. Highly unlikely anyone could cross with an endangered child, or without passports. (even if she were hidden) They would also check trunks etc, considering the missing child alert,
How soon could they have reached border? When did they know she was missing?
Earliest report I have seen on news is 9:30 am. I will check call log. Maybe they got through before feds realized?

A former worker there posted the shifts here. It is an assumption based on his knowledge from working there. But, it would not be the first time a 56 yr old male bowed out of a kid’s birthday party by saying he had to work. I wouldn’t say that means we are calling him a liar. It’s called begging off.

If two innocent ppl were caught with their vehicles on camera that night in Barron driving a a Ford Edge or Dodge Challenger , they should’ve been cleared by now. I’m assuming one of those cars may actually have been cleared, but that LE won’t come out to jeopardize the case by saying so.

I’m sure FBI has searched camera footage in all directions looking for where one of these vehicles fled to next. I’m sure the tipline was hot and hopefully they have more leads. Especially from passerby early morning drivers.

They’ve offered now 50k, for ppl who follow case logistics, what does this usually mean? One would assume “oh they have nothing to go off of to find her, this will go cold”

How much do you think LE actually knows? Do you think they have their own people of interest at this point? Looking for just opinions.

What LE knows:
- where the bodies were found
- how much blood
- what type of weapon used
- any fingerprints/DNA at the scene
- 911 call (which has surely been scrubbed to pick up any voices or background noise)
- phone records
- social media activity of the three Closs family members who lived in that house
- financial records of the three Closs family members who lived in that house

I don't think they have suspects or know what the motive was.

Idk, the 911 call included “you don’t have to do this”, but the dispatcher thought immediately of "suicide", if I remember well. Why did he think this? There has to be a reason.

It was one of the first officers on the scene who said this. That was the initial impression of the officer upon arriving on the scene. Likely because at first they saw a single body (James Closs) by itself with a gunshot wound. So I think the natural first thought in an officer's head was suicide because suicide is more common than murder.

I dont think they did, it's just what was reported as the grandfather's statement. Jmo

just wondering if the police or FBI would be monitoring jaymes friends social media accounts?

With all the LE resources dedicated to this case I'm sure they have someone monitoring that, but I doubt they will announce it publicly unless it leads to a break in the case.

Don't forget they still have many tips to follow through. You never know what lead will help. And they are still looking for those cars, which may lead to a suspect. Just the fact that they have not been accounted for tells us something. Jmo

Ok now wait....first officers on scene reported possible suicide attempt right? First officers on scene also reported the door kicked in and that he answered the door. That dont add up to me.

For those following #FindJaymeCloss case right now. Not much from authorities today. Now approaching 2,000 total tips. Funeral today for James & Denise Closs in nearby Cameron, WI. Their obit lists Jayme as "surviving daughter." Let's hope so. #FindJayme

Right. Two hundred people doing different things. They said they were working closely with the school. I'm sure that involves keeping in touch with friends and SM activity. But I have a feeling they haven't found any leads there. Jmo

I have a feeling that whatever was on that 911 call made it apparent she was taken against her will and by someone who didn't have authority to do so.

If true, why wasn’t she reported missing until 2 1/2 hrs later?
[time stamp of 911 call log below]

Surprising to me that both Denise's and Jayme's facebook pages are still fully active and public

It was their first impression upon arriving at a horrific crime scene. Its in the log, but not everything has been verified. Jmo

No, not the dispatcher. The first officer at the scene, responding to an open line 911 call and possible domestic disturbance. The first thing he saw was an open doorway and a body, presumably with evidence of a gunshot wound. Nobody else around. He reported what he saw initially as a “possible suicide attempt.”

We are in the Msp/St Paul area. We cross into Canada at the Fort Francis / International Falls border. I think this crossing is the closest to Barron. WI. It takes us appx 6-7 hours. Plenty of time for an alert to have been issued I think. The Twin Cities are 90 or so miles SW of Barron. Another close crossing would be Thunder Bay, Ontario.
