To my knowledge, we do not know who kicked in the door or when or why. We are speculating that the perp kicked it in that night in order to kill the parents. We do not know this and I can think of other possibilities.

Some articles said it was.

if they got in a argument and the family locked the door to keep him out. It could easily been some giy trying to date their daughter and the parents said no.

No where has it been suggested from anyone that Jayme had a boyfriend. I'm sure online would have been reviewed as well.

Note that Denise, considered a responsible parent, appeared to shadow Jayme.

Yes. I generally hate to go there, because that type of thing doesn’t happen with any regularity.

But it does happen, and when it does, it frequently looks something like this.

Brazen, violent, and incredibly difficult to solve.

That scenario is definitely in play for me.

The theory of it being a random crime is not marking very high with me. So many here have posted how hard the house is to spot from the road.

Does it makes more sense it was a targeted crime?

The motive is elusive for now, and there isn’t anything in the media specifically pointing at any of the three having any reason to have been marked for attack.

With Jayme being abducted, it does raise suspicions with me she was the target. IMO. Something went wrong, so wrong, her parents were killed.

One thing throwing me off is the door being compromised from the outside so brazenly. Why not sneak in?

Hopefully, more information will come next week.

Maybe, but I don't think it's likely. She had no known boyfriend, wasn't very active on social media and her parents seemed to keep a sharp eye on her. A few months ago she was just 12. Jmo

Jayme is sweet and shy as someone said about her - what did her Daddyo have to protect her from, I wonder.

It also says the male down answered the door and those two things don't line up together imo. I think this was what what being said at the onset of LE being there and it's observation discussion.

What single motive would applying the principle of Occam's Razor suggest?

For me, the motive was simply to take Jayme for purposes I’d rather not discuss.

Yes, to me that indicates that he was a doting parent and that she was his world, just as someone was reported as saying about the parents, or at least Denise. There is plenty that we as parents want to protect our children from, especially at age 13.

this whole case is just a head scratcher. I've sat down to write out my thoughts 3 times but just can't because every angle I look at has major reasons not to be true. Just don't know what to think.

This could mean someone who was in the home that evening had a misunderstanding with the family.
