<modsnip - quoted post and reference to it removed>
I have no idea how either parent would have felt hearing the other be shot. Or Jayme standing there listening and watching her parents get shot.
I would not be able to stand there. I would have been plotting revenge.

I hope this doesn't go against the rules, but this photo was posted on FB.

Jayme is holding what seems to be a smartphone. For anyone that was wondering if she had or didn't have a phone.

I’ve taken a couple days off from Jayme’s thread. I usually come back and just click on a page and start reading to see if I need to go back farther... or farther... I came across this post with my first click.... I have to say WOW!! This photo of Jayme is stunning!!! They should use this on her posters. She is an absolute natural beauty!
I have to say the picture where she is looking up and her eyes are kind of at an angle up... she looks a little evil (please do not bash me! It’s just my opinion)
Thank you for sharing this... she is beautiful!!

I would also like to chime in here and add that rumors can be very harmful to an investigation. I will give you an example.

During the search for Lucas Hernandez, the family requested property owners search their land. We had members here mapping search areas, some who had boots on the ground, and many who were making an all-out effort to distribute online flyers to farmers, ranchers, businesses, etc. Rumors started on social media that Lucas’ mother kidnapped him and had him hidden in New Mexico. When search teams were out talking to residents, they learned there were people who had stopped searching for Lucas based on these rumors.

@perfectingpink, @kkdj, @margarita25 and many others will remember this.

Please don’t let something like this happen with Jayme. If and when rumors start swirling that “this is the guy,” people will quit looking for her. Law Enforcement is not playing a game.

Do you know how close this property is in relation to the Closs family home?

No - only that it was on Hwy 8 west of Closs home.

They didn't have anything scheduled but I think they need to get ahead of this before it gets out of hand on the 4pm newscasts out in that region. I don't think a Facebook post or statements to the media will be enough. Regardless, this is exactly the kind of stuff the media feeds on regardless of its relevance to the case and I think this is going to hurt the efforts to find Jayme as this will become a focal point that won't easily go away.

I agree, but they have to be prepared/anticipating the fallout from this revelation and the benefit had to outweigh the cost of disclosure. This wasn't a cheap disclosure to them; I mean, they publicly admitted:

1) they've been surveilling the house.
2) it was unlocked.

This has interrupted at least one of their plans/hopes on who may visit the scene.

PLEASE STAY ON TOPIC...

If your post starts with "Me", "My", "I" it very well could be off topic.

We have the best sleuths in the world on Websleuths. We need to keep on topic to make sure the topics are easy to read. When a post is made about anything that is not directly related to the topics it makes the thread harder to read and way off topic.

The work the mods are having to do on this thread alone is overwhelming.

The rules are easy to follow on Websleuths. Thousands of people follow the rules every day with no problem.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Tricia

It is very interesting that the police don't seem to think the public is in danger with this person out there. I wonder if that means that they know it was actually personal and not random. We know the odds of it being random are not that high anyway but it makes me wonder if they have actual proof of that.

It is extremely rare for LE to announce the community is in danger. It rarely ever happens.

I have so many cases in my head right now that the list would be overly long if I even named some of them.

Yet in countless cases the community including children were in danger since the prepetrator/s were complete strangers to the victims they had murdered and/or kidnapped young children from their homes.

Perhaps in their defense they know they dont have to tell anyone in the community to be safe until the suspect is caught and already know everyone will be on heightened alert as long as the suspect isn't caught. They sure wouldnt have to tell me.

So after years of seeing this same thing coming from LE I have learned to pay that no mind.

One example among countless others was when the two Husted parents were murdered inside of their home. LE told the community they believed the parents were specifically targeted leaving the impression they knew their killer. Wrong! The murderer invaded their home to rob it. He killed them in front of their small child.

He was a 100 percent total stranger and before he was finally caught he broke into another home and almost killed another woman who was also inside of her home.

It has always infuriated me to no end when LE makes assumptions BEFORE they even have a darn clue who the actual suspect may be.

They warned no one even when a young child or children were abducted from their home only to learn later they had been kidnapped..raped and murdered by a stranger pedophile.

But they do it over and over again no matter the state it happens in.

The only one I can remember that did warn the community was when little Jessica Ridgeway was found murdered.

Unbelievable...
What is 32 years old man doing stealing underwear from a 13 years old girl?

"According to a criminal complaint, Jaenke-Annis was seen on motion activated cameras by law enforcement. When they confronted him, he admitted to going into the home without permission and stealing multiple items, including underwear and clothing that belongs to Jayme Closs. He has been charged with burglary and bail jumping. The criminal complaint says Jaenke-Annis works at Jennie-O Turkey Store."

UPDATE: Man arrested for breaking into Closs home, stealing Jayme's clothing

Also, BBM - Glad they have set up motion-activated cameras, but I don't think it was a good idea to mention it in the media in case the perp decided to go back.

Welcome jesusismyhope.:):):)
I agree, now that public are aware, there are cameras, any items/evidence the perp may have left, will probably not be retrieved by them.

Trying to catch up since last night but what kind of dirtbag breaks into dead peoples’ homes?!

I also have heard, during devastating fires/hurricanes etc, when owners return, valuable items are missing.
People even load their trucks with furniture, to remove.
MOO.

Wonder why since he was burglarizing he didn't take DC's clothing since that would be nearer his size.

I said the same thing. Why didn't they use this all grown up picture of Jayme. I answered myself with this; " LE has done an amazing job. They have every picture. For some reason they chose the younger Jayme pictures."
Maybe someday we will know. Interesting though.

Contact shared this photo from Barron Co today. Confirmed law enforcement following up on a tip, searched a property along Hwy 8 west of the Closs family home. I am told nothing came of it. So far 2,000+ tips, 1,875 of them closed, no Jayme. #FindJayme #FindJaymeCloss

What's that random white spot on the photo? If he meant to white out the address above the mailbox he did a poor job. JMO.
This poor town... having to suspect their neighbors when most of these tips are going to be nothing. Still, they have to search to clear the tips. I'm glad to see LE is still working this case hard.
Yet another tip that came to nothing though....
Where is Jayme? :(

The person arrested for burglarizing the Closs home Oct. 27th is not involved in Jayme's disappearance. I would like to stay focused on Jayme here.
Yes, I agree. LE has made it pretty clear that he is not invoved in this case. My impression is that he did so to avoid any speculation, especially from the media, which knowing Radar on Line and the DM, will have misleading articles before the end of the day. Its a distraction, in my opinion.

Because he's a flipping freak, IMO.

I wish we could get some insight about this from LE (not specifically Barron, any LE) why they do this. I completely agree with you, it makes no difference to me hearing LE saying there's no threat to the community because they quite honestly ALWAYS say that. I don't understand and wish we could get a solid explanation from someone involved in LE who knows the exact reason why that is. And I know people here have theories like "it would cause mass hysteria" etc etc but again that's just a theory or someone's opinion. I would really love a verified explanation from someone in LE.

There is NO threat to the community. Just to all the individuals that live, work and play there. I think they expect us to be ever vigilant. Times are such we should always be on the watch.
Being safe means locking our doors and windows. Closing blinds at nighttime. Checking on our neighbors.
Even with everything above done murder still comes to town.

What do you mean that there is no threat to the community? I would have thought that we can't really know that until we know who is behind this. And why.

Perhaps in order to convey a younger, more childlike (innocent) image to the perp(s)? The Aunt's plea with Jayme's dog, stbx drink, girls shopping trips, etc. also seemed to speak to that. JMO
