The local newspaper’s “police beat” gives a good idea of what is happening there.
2 articles from August 15, 2018 are interesting, IMO.

And I’m not talking about the article about the guy who likes ladies’ clothes. It’s the other 2 articles on the 15th...

Very interesting.

The problem for me is, if she was taken, and if she was killed, and if she was dumped, and if she was dumped tens or hundreds or more miles away from her home, especially in a shallow grave or in some other fashion where she’s not easily seen by searchers ... if they do ever find her, there’s not going to be anything left, and we won’t know much about what happened. There might be a few things, but still. It’s frustrating.

That IS the scary thing and that's exactly what happened with 9-year-old Jennifer Short in Martinsville, VA. Her parents were killed and she was taken. They found her body later and they've never been able to solve the crime. It's scary and sad.

My first reaction is to say that forensically there is allllways something left behind—of course it has to be found first.

However, I’ve actually been thinking about this very thing but in a different way..<modsnip - off topic>

Anyway point is we have seen so many cases here where COD was indeterminable. And yes that’s a huge concern if she is indeed deceased and recovered that hopefully there will be evidence left from her perpetrator(s)

So right now best case scenario is Jayme’s being held alive by God knows who? Thinking about AH and what she endured (unspeakable).

Ugh what an awful post all that just was.

So sorry Jayme. Where you you honey?

I think killer knew her, had a record, knew where to get cars, knew where to hide people and cars (as a result of time in jail and parents w criminal backgrounds). I believe Jayme is alive and that she is in hiding. The reason LE is playing this so close to the proverbial “vest” is because the details are so scurrilous that it will make a lot of people look bad and does no good to help find her. Killer may have had help as well. What doesn’t make sense, is why kill Denise? Because she wouldn’t let Jayme leave?
Early on, a news outlet in GA said FBI says to be on the lookout for Challenger in GA. Later, they added highway boards in other states.View attachment 153862

I remember an earlier poster from GA said he reported a red orange Challenger sighting but felt silly doing so.
Little did he know!

The electronic billboards with Jayme have been in metro Atlanta for at least 2 weeks. I have seen 2 in very different areas.
We have a massive sex trafficking problem here and with 3 major interstates lots of places to go.
Hide in plain sight.

I did see that Barron has a Travel Plaza for trucks that was remodeled in 2017. Our tractor trailer/ intermodal traffic is insane. And if those 2 cars were loaded in a trailer and made their way to Savannah or Jax, they could be on a freighter headed anywhere in the world.

I drove 70 miles in heavy traffic this week. Even in the land of the Georgia Bulldogs not that many red vehicles and no red Dodges, except Rams.

Hello y’all- not new to WS but new to the case! Trying to read and catch up but figured it would be easier to ask a few questions than go completely back to square 1-

I keep hearing of a caregiver ? Who needed a caregiver ?

I read jayme’s aunt was the caregiver ? Was this mom’s sister or dads ?

Was jayme the only child ?

Also, I read about the man that worked at the same company the Closs’s worked at, being caught stealing Jayme’s underwear and some clothing after the murders ? I have a hard time believing this sicko isn’t somehow involved !

Thanks in advance for some info

Except that didn't happen here. Remember, the cops didn't recover any guns on the scene. I'm assuming that means no Closs family guns too. Closs probably went to the door not expecting to be killed. Why would he? There are VERY few murders around here. Most likely Closs thought somebody ran out of gas or had a flat on the highway.
No everyone has cell phones these days. I would see no need for someone to be at my door that I did not know at that hour.
And if I did need help and went to someone’s door. I would yell can you please call police or 911. I need help.

I’ll let someone answer the caregiver question.

Jayme was an only child, and the creep who broke into the house to steal underwear, has a history of this type of behavior.

That plant is a major employer within that town, and it’s not a surprise that this guy worked there. The police have ruled this guy out. He’s just a creep.

That is my assumption but not everyone’s. Some think she was spared for being a child.

And taken where? If they were trying to spare her they’d drop her off somewhere...but she’s liability and a witness now..

We don't have cell phones in my house. People think it's totally weird, but we gave up phones several years ago. If we absolutely need to call someone then we Skype on our laptops.

Wow! How wonderful and strange at the same time!

They were killed on Oct 14th/15th so they didn't see anything related to this.
In that post witnesses were threatened. It has been suggested Closs's could have witnessed something. I didnt mean they witnessed that incident.

Jayme was photographed several times Sunday wearing a denim jean jacket -- photos published. Per Sheriff Interview 11/1/18, LE has completed the digital footprint of the victims so I believe they know all communication history. No confirmation of JC work schedule and/or when he arrived home. No confirmation of house ransacked/disturbed, food, clothing missing, or whether Jayme packed. MOO

I can't stop unseeing that cellphone Jayme had clutched in her hand in one of the photos from that day of the family gathering. IMO it holds some clue.

Ha ha, I know. I hear that a lot. Actually, though, there are quite a few people who live this way. We have internet and a Roku-sometimes our friends make fun of us for being so much "on the grid." ;-)

Just sharing this because it does seem to be a common belief that "everyone" has cell phones, or that everyone has a smart phone. Some don't. (Although it does seem that Jayme had one herself so this may not be relevant.)

I think it is so bizarre because of the lack of facts we have there are just endless possibilities and there lies all the differing scenarios. But, I would like to believe that once the facts start to come to light then a lot of the weirdness will subside and the case will be more normal and in focus just like most others once the facts are known. But right now so much is just pure speculation because of virtually so few facts. MOO

Dear retiredrickyinCO,

This is exactly where I am right now.

Until we hear more facts from the authorities, I really can't add anything.

I can only believe that they are close to answers in this case. Usually when the authorities aren't releasing details, they are working furiously behind the scenes.

Each day I hope that the authorities are closer to finding answers.

As it was late at night and a school day on the Monday, i would hazard a guess that Jayme would be in her night attire and probably asleep in bed when the perp(s) broke in.

And yet I wonder. Could the unsub(s) have already been in the home? Before any of the family, returned back home? This feels targeted to me. This feels planned out. Even if it all went to hell, this perp was willing to kill.

Their little doggie survived. Jayme survived her initial horror, only to be taken away in the darkness of night. Most likely near shock. Cold, if taken out of her home in her sleepwear. That makes me wonder. And pardon my manners if this was already covered. Was the Aunt/Caretaker able to provide LE with a description of any missing clothing? Shoes? Jackets?

The monster(s) that did this are still out there. That certainly gives me pause for thought. We really need to find this one NOW! As always IMHO.

You can get really cheap driveway motion sensors that do about the same thing. Google "driveway alert sensors" or "driveway alarm". I don't know how well they work but they are an option.
But it seems that the Closs family had no reason to be concerned about their home security or anything this extreme happening. I think few people have to worry about a home invasion of this magnitude-- either from a stranger or someone the family knows. Their home was modest and not the home of a jeweler or famous person. It might not have been difficult for a stranger who was determined enough to figure out that their security was likely minimal. That's why I can't decide either way if the perp(s) knew the family or not. I'm still undecided on that. JMO.

After reading about crimes on here, I think a security system is needed by everyone. Random common people targeted. The Groene. The Short. Now the Closs.

So many weirdos out there. When I read:about crimes on here, I am astounded at he bizarre things that people do sometimes for little provocation
