BUT - have you ever heard in case of a missing endangered child (parents murdered), the child had changed school for this and that purpose in the past? I wondered about the mention, which came almost with the first news and I thought: why would they tell that, what's the importance of it?

I think the info that she had switched schools was shared because LE interviewed Jayme's teachers and students who knew her at both schools. They mentioned they were working with the school district/school superintendent, not just one school. JMO.

It seems to have been executed in a professional manner. But the Closses didn't seem to have enemies or criminal contacts. If this was a "hit" the target would appear to be Jayme and nothing else.

Sheriff's Department to get body cameras, drone

Fitzgerald said the new cameras would be used for officer and public safety and also help to prove cases in court. Now county deputies have a camera in their squad cars and a microphone on their vests. The new cameras will include a clip-on body camera with a built-in microphone and provide better night vision. He said the camera company plans to have a new version out in July, adding that he planned to sell the existing cameras to other law enforcement agencies in the county, if interested.

Has it ever been confirmed if James was a member of the Croix Casino? Or did LE just contact them on the morning in question to see if their CCTV cameras were working?

I think there's a fairly good chance of that especially if it's a one time deal and not a serial psychopath. Since so far he's gotten away scout free so why not hang on to the girl? That seems more likely if he abducted her to be his child bride. He might even be treating her nicely, relatively speaking that is.

Doesn't need to be dark secrets. Could be a connection, something only they knew. Something that happened years ago that the killer wanted to eliminate.

Not so much the concept of asking for tips from OTHERS about people who might be involved with the family, but asking for people who had direct involvement to report that ? Is everyone who spent time with the Closs family, or had an argument with them supposed to call and report that ? Really? To me, it's kind of akin to saying, " Anyone who murdered 2 people and killed their daughter, could you please give us a call ? ".

But if the murders were committed to eliminate some past knowledge, why abduct Jamye and make it a bigger case by drawing in the FBI? Why not just eliminate her too? I think it was a planned kidnapping and nothing else.

I doubt the perp even went past the Turtle Lake Casino. West of the Closs home there are side roads going north and south every mile or two. He was smart enough to get off the highway ASAP as he knew the cops were coming after the 911 call was made. He probably knew the area and had a planned escape route to avoid using the highway. That's why nobody saw him plus it was 1 am. A seemingly carefully planned and executed operation.

I thought the same thing. Maybe LE wanted to learn if the Closses were troublemakers in any manner or form which they obviously weren't. Sometime LE is clumsy. We see that on Dateline and 48 Hours all the time.

Possible criminal knowledge held by the Closs family on someone ? Fear of possible jail time/revenge could be a reason ?

One mistake I realized that I made early on in this case was assuming that because there was no criminal history for either parent, this likely wasn't drug related. A few days ago, I was talking to my husband about this case (of which he knows basically nothing ), and he asked me if there were medical issues with either parent. I was taken aback by the question and my immediate response was, " What would that have to do with anything ? ". Hubby replied, " I dunno. Just wondering if there might have been legal prescription drugs in the house that someone knew about."

I absolutely could NOT believe I had overlooked that possibility.

That's what I think. Maybe not living in the city of Barron but in the general area. That's why somebody posting about Jayme's dance lessons in Rice Lake raised a red flag for me. That's another possible place the perp could have seen her, especially if public recitals were given that the perp attended.

If this was planned and Jayme is treated well, I would think her hair now has been cut, to being very short: perhaps dyed.
The Perpetrator could possibly have Jayme dressed as a young boy, in case she is seen by others, as they travel great distances to the destination/hideout.
There would be another vehicle involved immediately after the murders.

I think LE has been at loss for a motive all along...and are grasping at straws that someone might know some odd thing that could possibly have caused this, i.e prior road rage incident, an argument of some sort, anything that could fester in an unstable mind. Just reaching for anything.

CNN. I am unable to open the complete article to see if they are quoting someone or the above is fanciful CNN writing. It has been previously posted that Wednesdays were set aside locally for children's religious activities, bible study or in Jayme's church CCD in Cameron. ??

I have wondered if it is within TOS and fruitful to sleuth her weekly schedule for the purpose of knowing when she was in public places where a stranger would notice her.

I believe both Jayme's School and Church have been publicly identified in MSM.
Jayme's public school track practice and calendar for their meets are probably posted on the School's website. Same is probably true for the Church's weekly bulletin. MOO

From MOD Notes page 1 of this thread - we are allowing members to state their opinion that Jayme could be involved in her own disappearance.

I still am standing by my original theory that is was either one, or both, of the parents that were targeted. But my gut tells me that it is a distinct possibility Jayme could be involved in this (directly or indirectly) albeit its a very remote possibility. I just keep pondering how the sheriff thinks she's alive, the PC in which they seemed to be talking to her and also just the lack of facts they have released after 3 weeks. It certainly weighs very weak on my list of possibilities but I want to be receptive of any and all possibilities. I do not believe she had an active role in the murder of either of her parents. I have complete confidence this terrible tragedy will be solved. MOO
