He said 5 ft... and he has evidence..u could be correct... I think what Fitzgerald is likely saying is right inside doorway..2 people suffered horrific gunshot wounds that killed them instantly. There’s blood / tissue likely close inside door spread backwards from 1 or 2 people... there’s no footprints through that could be how he arrives at 5 ft... dunno.. but think it was a mess... and perp didn’t step near it.. sadly
But did Jayme step thru it going out? Do they have her footprints leaving that way?

God bless you Sheriff Fitzgerald.
You have a nightmare of a case to manage, and I have no idea what that all entails, but it must take a terrible toll on you day in and day out.
It is amazing to me that you are able to keep level-headed and even-keeled in your interviews. I do not know how you do it.
Forgive me if this seems like a criticism: how do you keep your cool and not freak out about this missing 13-year-old girl, who disappeared under horrific circumstances under your jurisdiction? I would not judge you harshly if you publically demonstrated emotions of extreme urgency, desperation and agony in this situation. In fact, I would thank you for mirroring my own feelings about Jayme. I know that you have a job to do, and the expectation is polished professional behavior from the guy at the top. But geez loueez, I for one would not fault you for breaking down in an interview and showing us you are super concerned and in anguish about this young girl. You have kids of your own so I know you must surely relate to the hell this family is in. I think it’s ok for you to show us a peek of the emotions you must be feeling, but that is just me, Coco Joe Schmo. I am just one person who gives you my permission to show us how hard this is for you, and how much you want Jayme to come home safely.
Beautiful post.
The sheriff must lead the way and stay strong for the community. He might go home and break down but he is the community leader and must stay strong for them. I expect nothing less and he is doing a good job. The community depends on him.

Early on, wasn't there an MSM report that a "still cold" soft drink was found in Jayme's room? I haven't seen that mentioned since; has it been discredited? Does anyone know? If true, Jayme must have been up fairly late. I also wondered if she was still awake and drinking it at the time of the attack, or had left it in her room unfinished and recently gone to sleep. Either way, if accurate information, she must have stayed up rather late for some reason.

No, someone on here made up that scenario as an idea. Not based in reality

Thank you for clarifying. I didn't read an article mentioning a cold drink in her room, but I read a lot of discussion about it on an early WS thread, which I believed was based on a report from MSM. I wonder where the information originated if it was not MSM but discussed on WS. If the cold drink has not been verified, then I believe no evidence has been released indicating whether or not any of the three may have been awake at the start of the home invasion.

Someone totally made that up. They were inventing scenarios. It is totally imagined

I don’t know.. likely only Sheriff office does..
He dad say thought she was home due to 911 call and evidence at scene.. other people know layout better than me I think jayme coulda gone out other door... sadly I think she’s young enough to go look for mom/dad .. vs bolt out door.. plus if your kid in pajamas and no shoes...

If there was no footprints either perp or jayme ..?? Wouldn’t stun me.. this is bizarre case..

Video at the link: Community gathers in Barron to show hope for missing teenager's return

It's been nearly two months since Jayme Closs, a 13-year old from Barron, disappeared and her parents were found dead in the family's home. The community in the small Northern Wisconsin town hasn't given up hope in finding her.

On Wednesday night they demonstrated that. Community members gathered with students and law enforcement outside Riverside Middle School to light a tree of hope for Jayme.

“I truly believe in the good intentions of tonight,” said Diane Tremblay, the Barron Area School District Administrator.

A children's choir sang to the crowd and several speakers addressed them. Several members of the Closs family were at the event.

“The support's been overwhelming,” said Mike Closs, Jayme's uncle. “Like you we just want Jayme home.”

Chris Fitzgerald, the Barron County Sheriff, spoke to the crowd too. He thanked them for their support and for holding on hope that authorities would find Jayme.

“This is what we are running on right now, is hope,” Fitzgerald said. “We have one goal left, we will bring Jayme home and we will bring peace to this community.”

Wisconsin community lights up a 'Tree of Hope' to show they're not giving up on finding Jayme Closs | Daily Mail Online

A 16-foot tree was erected at Riverview Middle School and decorated with messages such as 'Pray for Jayme' and 'Bring Jayme Home,' lit up blue for her favorite color and green for missing children awareness.

'We just pray every day and we just hope for her safe return,' her uncle Mike Closs (shown) said.

Jayme's middle school classmates released lighted lanterns at the event, as a symbolic gesture to light the way home for their friend.

Barron native and 'The Voice' finalist Chris Kroeze also delivered a message to the crowd which circled the beautifully decorated tree.

'Bringing the community together is an awesome thing, and it's just encouraging to see everybody pull together like this,' Kroeze said.

There have been no new breaks in the case, but Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said that the Wednesday event lifted his spirits.

Community comes together for Jayme Closs, Sheriff provides updates on investigation

The Tree of Hope for Jayme Closs radiates in blue and green lights. The tree is decorated with messages from her classmates that read ‘Hope for Jayme’ and ‘We miss you’.

Jim Snee, Hormel Foods President & CEO

The idea of the tree was planted into the mind of Jim Snee, president and CEO of Hormel Foods, the parent company to Jennie-O where Jayme’s parent used to work. Snee came up with the idea after reading an article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The headline read: “A month after Jayme Closs vanished, the feeling in her hometown is ‘very dark.’”

“I didn’t think that was fair,” said Snee. “And I didn’t think it was an accurate representation, because here is a community with an incredible heart, an incredible soul and an unbreakable spirit. That is anything but dark.”

Sheriff Fitzgerald said the number of tips has dropped to about 20 a day, and the number of investigators on the case is also down. He said dozens of sighting have been reported, but none have been verified. Still, Fitzgerald said the case remains his number one priority.

“Now we have a video feed that the DCI has set up for us that people can ship their video directly to us,” said Fitzgerald. “It’s all set up. It’s viewed immediately. The technology that we are using to try and solve this case, is second to none in the nation right now.”

It's different in the upper Midwest. Especially WI, MN, ND.
Kids need to be able to stay inside their house until a minute or two before the bus arrives if it is -10 degrees outside.

Well that makes sense! Thanks...

I'm only seeing the trucks. Sorry, am I missing them.:)

Sorry I thought you were looking for pictures of the evidence van before it moved in front of James’s truck! Basically I was just trying to show that his truck was parked the way from the get go. I take it you were looking for other pictures ?
