The info provided is from the AADT (Annual Average Daily Traffic) data for that location.

The Wisconsin DOT does not provide the same level as my state does so we can't get the hourly breakdown. I looked up the street that passes by my house and it had an AADT of 8180. The measurement area is 1.3 miles. You can see in the hourly breakdown that around 1am less than a car per minute passes by. I'm in the middle of a 100000+ city, so I imagine the traffic passing by the Closs household would be way less when accounting for the 25%/2000 less cars per day as well as the location.

It's possible that no one drove by while the crime was happening.

Your numbers are right in line with what might be expected in metro area of your size, and your state also calculates and reports the statistics as I would expect.

But take what you know about your location and watch any video where Hwy 8 near Barron is visible in the background. If you care enough to know, I’m sure there’s a DOT traffic cam somewhere nearby that you can sit back and count cars.

But alas, I do not care enough. Whether there’s tons of traffic rolling by 24/7 or not isn’t even pertinent to the case. Sad how far these discussions devolve once a case has gone completely cold.

For me, it can be an explanation as to why she was not taken from the school bus stop where she would be waiting alone or when she would be getting off of the bus alone.

Since we cannot know what happened as there are those documented killers that watched and took children such as the Groene case, we do not know if the killer stopped his car many days and watched as Jayme got on or off the school bus. Drivers must wait until the flashing lights go off and the school bus stop arm is retracted. That would give a perp plenty of time to observe her as he was stopped behind the school bus.

Sunday night is a night when people are worn out from the weekend. They have done their shopping, cleaning, socializing, and whatever else working people do on weekends.

Children are not at sleepovers and other children are not visiting. Guests are not there usually on a Sunday night. People are preparing for the work, school week.

Number of people on here kept saying random with no connection to family or jayme....

it seems unlikely... but with internet and people in 3/4 hour radius of Barron wi.. think y’all might be correct..could be significantl no of eligible perps in that radius... no of them unknown..

Four charged in plot to kidnap, rape and kill child in southwest Michigan

If this is random then it is going to tough for LE to solve. That could very well be the case. I also believe that if Jayme was the target it could be by someone with a loose connection to her. What complicates making a connection for LE is the two persons who knew her best and who she might have confided in are both dead. That fact can make it as difficult to solve as a random attack.

Of course, if one of the parents was the target, this also applies as their main confidant is dead.

What the heck?? This goes beyond anything I've ever heard. How can LE be so sure that group didn't carry out their plan? There is a missing child not far away. Were they jailed at the time of the Closs family murders & kidnapping of Jayme?

Anyone ever consider the foster child angle. I believe I have read that some relatives in Denise’s family were very active in fostering and may have foster kids in their 20’s. Were they at the family party?
Also, has anyone heard anything further regarding the missing couple that was asked about in the Dryden interview with the sheriff?

Taking her at the bus stop would have been a possibility IF there were times when both parents worked early. I believe the bus stops at her driveway if I remember from a previous post. One such case where a girl was taken while going to her bus stop while home alone was Sierra Lamar. So it has happened. Still you point out that the bus stop is a possible connection.

Pointing out the advantage of Sunday night is something I hadn't considered. Friday or Saturday nights might have Jayme somewhere else IF she was the target.

With both parents working shifts at Jenny O I would have thought it would have been best to hit the house when the father was working and Jayme and her mother were home alone. That the killer(s) didn't do this has me believing that Jenny O is less likely of a connection as it would seem that the killer(s) would be able pick that time. (Of course, if the plant is large enough they could still be employed in a area where the work schedule would not be available. Work schedules may not be posted on sheet in a common area, but sent via text or email to employees.)

Luckily these monsters were already charged before the Closs crime happened. But reading about these kind of people in the news makes me so disgusted I feel like I constantly need to take a shower.

We know unfortunately there’s more 🤬🤬🤬’s out there...seems to be a never ending suppy. :(

With this latest news of only 5 feet into house, how did they get Jayme?

Jayme must have run into the area where shootings occurred and saw her parents down. Perp then yelled at her to come with him?

Any ideas?

Without hearing 911 tape not sure... I could see scenario where she runs towards parents and scenario where she bolts outside barefoot...

If she’s awake from argument and door being kicked in two or more large gun blast maybe survival instinct kicks in and she bolts... not sure..

Gun/ ammo isn’t known to me... but likely large rifle shotgun or powerful handgun

Do you think jayme really wants to run towards that type of gun ...she can love mom/dad.. but that’s a big ask for kid to move towards sound below ..or am I wrong... below is 25 ft away..

This has gone on so long...wonder if we will be talking about her years from now. I hope something breaks soon.

James shot at the door, Denise not far behind him. Jayme comes from wherever she was in the house to try to help her stricken mom or dad, possibly kneeling over them. Perp then takes her, stepping only 5 feet inside the house. If this was the scenario then how must of Jayme felt, seeing her mom and dad lying on the floor, trying and wanting to help them but then being taken away by the perp. An unimaginable horror that's too upsetting to contemplate. MOO of course.

There have been reports in MSM that door was riddled with bullet holes. Your idea makes sense. The bullets came from a gun James had and the casings were inside because James was shooting.

The perp kicks the door in when James is out of bullets.

But the Sheriff said James’ guns were accounted for. Maybe Denise had one as she was home alone at night a lot?

The Sheriff did not reveal for a long time that they had Jayme’s phone. We were speculating that a search was for her phone. So we know the Sheriff is not forthcoming .

I don't think we have evidence of a shootout.

Apologies human i should have said James was shot as he answered the door not he shot at the door! Although it is an interesting new theory, did he, in fact, have a gun that night? I know LE have stated that James had 3 guns and all were accounted for but maybe there was a fourth one that for some reason they are withholding information about?

LE has had Jayme's phone....have they revealed any pertinent details as to what communication was found on it, and if it was the phone the 911 call was made from?

The only info we have is that the phone for 911 was the mother’s phone

I have to try to visualize this. His feet were visible to LE which means they were in the doorway but they could have been a bit back. There were multiple casings which two me does not mean two. Multiple means a lot, to me.

There are reports of the door riddled with bullet holes and the door being kicked in. The bullet holes were me ntioned by reporters who saw it being removed? Where is the quote??

So who shot the bullet holes? And if there are multiple casings, would they not be inside if initially LE thought it was a suicide? If the shooter shot the door, the casings would be outside.

Still, LE thought suicide even though the door was kicked in. Maybe they thought there was a fight and he was locked out, A domestic violence type of thing? No, I am not suggesting that as what happened. I am saying LE may have thought that as arriving on the scene.
