The only info we have is that the phone for 911 was the mother’s phone
Thank you for clearing that up!

Apologies human i should have said James was shot as he answered the door not he shot at the door! Although it is an interesting new theory, did he, in fact, have a gun that night? I know LE have stated that James had 3 guns and all were accounted for but maybe there was a fourth one that for some reason they are withholding information about?
Why would we think there was a fourth one? I think the sheriff has been very honest and forthcoming. Had James had a gun I believe we would know.
Thank you, Sharon, for switching your avatar from that nightmare-inducing clown!Your numbers are right in line with what might be expected in metro area of your size, and your state also calculates and reports the statistics as I would expect.
But take what you know about your location and watch any video where Hwy 8 near Barron is visible in the background. If you care enough to know, I’m sure there’s a DOT traffic cam somewhere nearby that you can sit back and count cars.
But alas, I do not care enough. Whether there’s tons of traffic rolling by 24/7 or not isn’t even pertinent to the case. Sad how far these discussions devolve once a case has gone completely cold.

I have seen one in particular that looks nothing like the pictures being used. I agree with you.
I just watched an episode of FBI files where a man by the name of Joseph Duncan committed a crime that seems like it could be somewhat similar to this one.
For me, it can be an explanation as to why she was not taken from the school bus stop where she would be waiting alone or when she would be getting off of the bus alone.
Since we cannot know what happened as there are those documented killers that watched and took children such as the Groene case, we do not know if the killer stopped his car many days and watched as Jayme got on or off the school bus. Drivers must wait until the flashing lights go off and the school bus stop arm is retracted. That would give a perp plenty of time to observe her as he was stopped behind the school bus.
Sunday night is a night when people are worn out from the weekend. They have done their shopping, cleaning, socializing, and whatever else working people do on weekends.
Children are not at sleepovers and other children are not visiting. Guests are not there usually on a Sunday night. People are preparing for the work, school week.
Maybe they went with the one with no make up because she likely won’t be wearing make up in captivity. So perhaps the one pic is a more natural look.In the widely circulated photo she looks like a child, in the more recent photos she looks like a typical teenager.
There is one photo I have seen where her hair is fixed differently and she appears to be wearing makeup.
What reason would there be to use the “child” photo on the missing posters, Amber Alert, etc?
If that was the only photo available I could understand it, but I have seen some of the recent photos on the family Facebook sites.
You would think one of the family members would say to LE, “Here is a recent photo, use this one because this is what she looks like now.”
Yep- She ran she hid possibly outside via another exit we perhaps don't know about and the perpetrator, s/he they caught her. Maybe the garage under the house has access to/from the main house, We just don't know. With this latest news of only 5 feet into house, how did they get Jayme?
Jayme must have run into the area where shootings occurred and saw her parents down. Perp then yelled at her to come with him?
Any ideas?
I don’t take the 4 minutes and 5 feet as exact. I believe it’s simply meant to say they weren’t there for long and that they didn’t go all through the house, so they left little forensic evidence.
Both Denise and James died 'instantly' of their wounds, he said.
By what Fitzgerald has said himself we do know both Denise and James were found in the same general area together. That is why he said he thinks the murderer kicked the phone away and it wound up landing closer to where Denise's dead body lay than closer to Jim's dead body.
No sarcasm intended...I am confused and searching just like everyone...but what difference does it make how long they were in the house?? Obviously, long enough to fatally wound two people and take a child. And possibly left no DNA.!!I've been off this page a good while and only reading the last 100 or so comments to catch up, so please forgive if this has been said. If this is referring to the Daily Mail article, it's a misrepresentation. They grabbed quotes from places and strung them together to make implications. I don't have the source to cite but the 5 feet thing was going back to where the Sheriff explained why DNA is hard to come by... he said it as just an example... that if you're only 5 feet in the door or only somewhere for 4 minutes you'll leave a lot less DNA than if you're there a long time. Again I'm paraphrasing, sorry.
We KNOW that we should not take these values literally.
First, While there could be forensic evidence about 5 feet, it seems unlikely since it took the officers on site 3 minutes after they said they were going to clear the house before they reported the 2nd subject down. If they were both shot from the doorway they would have seen Denise virtually immediately.
But second there is no way they could say for sure about 4 minutes. Presumably from the noises on the 911 call they know whether the bad guy(s) were still there at the time the call was initiated. From the time of the initiation of the call until the first officers on the scene was 7 minutes 3 seconds. So there's no way they could know 4 minutes.
There have been reports in MSM that door was riddled with bullet holes.
I think that would be in the call log. jmoThen why did it take 8 1/2 minutes from when they advised "two subjects down" until they reported "two subjects down, unresponsive" ? They must have been attempting resuscitation on one or both.
