Her cell phone was found charging in the kitchen.

That’s obviously not 100% proof that she was home. But as a general rule most teenagers are not going to be far from their phone at any time. If her phone was in the house that is a pretty good indication that she was in the house.

This was just one of the things mentioned in the news so there are probably other things they are withholding as well.

They also probably verified with those she knew that she was not anyplace else, by the time they annouced that she was likely there. They would have, to ascertain that she was in fact missing from the scene,

about her having a boyfriend. I do not for a single second think she was going on dates or hanging out at a boys house or in a boys car, doing things that a more mature relationship with a boy would be thought of as. I do think there could have been someone that she had a less mature interest in. if so and a boy was older than her then a boys idea of being her boyfriend and the idea a 13 year old has about having a boyfriend could be much different. it could be that she had a group of friends, some being a boy and just a friend as far as she thought of it, but another might have thought of it differently. the potential of a boyfriend I think depends on a persons definition of a boyfriend and I think that perception is different at different ages.

There are 13 year olds that have boyfriends without their parents knowing about it. I remember it when I was that age.

Have any relatives spoken at any other press conferences? So strange we wouldn't see more of an appeal from them. Makes me wonder they have someone to suspect and are afraid. I have a friend who lives in that town and he posted a flyer of her vigil but took it down within 24 hours. Why? I don't want to pry to ask him but it makes me think maybe people have suspicions and are scared.

I have a dumb question having nothing whatsoever to do with the current discussion. Were any of the bodies of water surrounding the crime scene or search areas ever searched. Really searched, not just looked at. TIA

Have been following Closs forum since October & I don't remember mention of LE/FBI diving teams searching IN bodies of water.

I wanted to check in, I talked to my brother in law that is an assistant chief at a PD, and to my surprise he knew nothing about this case. We are like five states away, but I still would have thought a crime like this would have perked his ears up. Anyway, I asked him to do some reading on it and pay particular attention to how LE has interacted with the public. I’m hoping he can tell me that if they are doing this, then this is probably what’s going on behind the scenes...maybe then we can find a new angle to explore...?

I've been trying to find a way to bring this up. I have a family member who is a sergeant with a PD here in Wisconsin.(not in Barron) Sometimes, info/rumors flow between departments. With that being said......IMO, There is more info on the 911 tape....possibly even 2 unknown male voices.

Unfortunately MK, nothing new. But it does seem like the unsubstantiated 'rumor' floodgates have been opened here. Not good IMO.

I have changed my thinking a little on this case. IMO I think Jayme was taken that night, and her parents killed in the process, from someone in their past. Maybe even from someone they knew not recently. I hope the police will investigate and look into people and incidents from long ago or as far back as they can.

The reason I say this is because there was a murder in my former city, which stemmed from a 50! year grudge (a prank that happened in college) I am enclosing the link just for proof and in case anyone is interested, but I guess it just got me thinking that possibly someone had a grudge against one of the Closs' and snapped for whatever reason on that night. It might not have necessarily been something recent that caused the murders.

Excellent post; it really illustrates that people can hold grudges for a very long time and then seemingly explode.

Are they fearful closs would know.. or what the inference would be from tape??
Maybe there fearful they release tape, jayme chance at survival plummets.

it wouldn't even have to be someone against that house hold. others loved them and the ones that were not killed are experiencing the terror the longest. some sick person could be enjoying the terror they have inflicted upon someone that is still enduring it. I know jayme could also still be enduring too so I am not ignoring what she may still be going threw. the closs house hold could have been a tool to the person wanting revenge.

That makes me think, could it be a former boyfriend, love interest, someone who has/had a crush on James or Denise (and maybe they didn't even know it)? Someone at work who was jealous of their beautiful little family?
