Please forgive if this has been addressed already but I'm playing catch up. How would anyone know if any cell phones were moved? Moved as isay ten feet? TIA

If denise phone was dormant or on charger..
And she picks up... will quickly show active and moving...

I don’t know what 3rd party apps she has on there... but step counter is probable.. if not 2 step counter..

A lot of those have GPS Tracking in addition to step counting...

Whatever 3rd party apps that monitor movement they’ll look into ..a lot do...

When u have your phone in hand ... by Walgreens and it pops up... stop by grab a Gatorade... that’s not luck..

As for specific home movements... dunno... would need to know phone type and apps..

Wow. Thank you. I did not know about any of that.

Thats my point. Maybe the Toyota listed is Denises car. Maybe the van isnt. I asked if theres proof that that plate even came from the van.
I don't know what Van you're referring to. The cars are listed on the call log that I checked.

Someone has found through a DMV search that the license plate on the 911 log as Denises vehicle does not match the white van parked in the driveway. It shows being plated to a black Toyota.

How do we search license plates in the WI DMV?

Where would they send the registration renewal bill?
It has to be attached to the address.
I'm sure all that info is on record just not available to the public search.

I believe it was black, scroll back a few posts. It’s interesting for sure.
Well, what was LE looking for again? The black car?

I think maybe some people are thinking of the coroner's van that parked over by the deck to remove the bodies? There's a white vehicle in the drive that looks like the Ford Escape listed on the dispatch log:

Did we ever get a photo showing the back of that white vehicle clearly enough to make out the license plate #? Perhaps it's a mistake on the dispatch log? One number off could make a difference. How did you look up the vehicle by plate number?

I don't see meth use as a factor. Meth violence is up and they do commit horrific crimes but I don't see meth use/abuse connected with a motive in this case. JMO

Espeically in being so neat and careful, and in not taking the small valuables that were visible, according to the sheriff. Those meth heads usually tear into a place, doing damage and grabbing what they can sell. Not nearly shoot two people amd remove a third. This was very personal, imo, or someone just determined to get Jayme and nothing else.

This study states that Wisconsin ranks #5 in the nation for being home to registered sex offenders:
Sex Crimes: Here Are 15 States With the Most Registered Sex Offenders
snipped for brevity

one thing to keep in mind with a list like this is what each state requires for offender registry. MN has stricter requirements, so only severe offenses require registry. Not that long ago a man fondled a 12 year old girl in a Target and last i knew, he wasn't required to go on the registry.

I know WI casts the net a bit wider and teens who have had sex with their teenage partner have be registered.

This isn't the time/place to debate who should or should not be registered of course, but i think it's worth keeping in mind when we are looking at how much Jayme was in danger because she was in WI. A list like that would make you think WI has much more sexual deviants than MN but do they really? Personally i think a man in his 20s going up to a complete 12 year old stranger in a store and fondling her (and it was not her breasts, FYI) is scarier and more dangerous than a teenage boy having sex with a girl he knows and is in a relationship with.

mods: i don't believe this to be off topic, but i'm sorry if it is. i think it relates to the motive/danger aspect of this case.

It appears that way, other than the other bright orange/red Dodge muscle vehicle.

Is anyone even sure those are their vehicles? Maybe theirs are parked in the garage?

Added
If you look at the google maps street view of their house it also looks like the garage doors are open but I don't see any vehicles in the drive or through the bit of the doorway.

All very good points; thanks for the calibration! : )

Have you read the background information on page 1 of this thread? It will be useful to you if you don't know much about this case.

Well it won’t be that useful, since LE still does not know the motive or the target, apparently...there is not much one needs to know to jump in on this case, jmo.

I looked up the number listed on the call log. Denise Closs. James's is also listed as well as Cheyenne's. It's on the first page.

I agree except for one thing...if ur kicking door in.. and shooting through door.. not exactly the best plan or execution... and if the first thing u hear after killing 2 people is “baron county 911 what’s your emergency”. Your gut instinct probably says forget everything... bolt ... cops are 3 miles away..

Also think it’s crime of passion...

I have been following this case thread since the beginning, and I do recall there was a reason someone posted re. why the Ontonagon County office was contacted. (it's been so long I forget why lol) From my own recollection, Ontonagon is the head office of a more specialized crime field such as trafficking or something like that. (I'm using that as an example)

Posts 704 & 705 on thread # 20 offer a couple of reasons.

Denise’s car is a white Ford Escape. See dispatch log. Car LE was looking for was a black Ford Edge (or Acura). Not the same car.
