Tests to the parents' hands for GSR ( or whatever a shotgun leaves behind, I'm not sure) would clear that up at the scene, wouldn't it?
That, and there had better have been a firearm found in the general vicinity of the one that suicided. No firearm, no suicide.

The longer this goes on the more I think LE has no idea where JC is or who has her.

It seems a little unusual to me that JC had a caretaker at age 13. I’m wondering if the parents felt there was a need to be a little overprotective, for eg., maybe JC reported someone following her, or maybe they knew someone who could potentially be violent.
When both parents work it is sometimes necessary to have help even with older kids. The caregiver’s primary function could have been driving her to various activities that she would otherwise not have been able to get to (i.e. dance class or cross country practice).

This caregiver seems to have been a part of her life for a while. Even when she was in a different school district. Possibly a family member as some on here have noted. Parents' schedules may lend to the need for someone to prepare her meals, help with homework, see to her well being. Just barely 13 is not all that old. jmo

Thank you! I remember reading that but thought maybe there was new news.
You're welcome. I like this news source - they're in Eau Claire, WI and not only were they the first to report this detail, they've been very accurate. So far, anyway.

I hadn't heard about the FBI avoiding saying she was kidnapped.

Don’t forget, similar things were said about Mollie Tibbetts and we tried to figure out for weeks what was really being said.

My thought was 2 shots from a shotgun, which makes a big boom, the other shots from a handgun.
Wouldn't they have found shells if it was a shot gun?

Even though the phone is listed as her mother's phone, it could be Jayme's phone and was listed in the mom's name for billing purpose. (I'm not the first one to suggest this. Was suggested way earlier in a previous thread.)
The dispatch report determined the phone in question belonged to Denise Closs because calling the phone proved it was Mum's voice mail. I agree that their could have been a family plan and phones in parent name but used by others. MOO

Whew! The thread is moving so fast I had to speed read the end of the last one and the earlier posts for this one. Apologies if I'm duplicating anything already said.

So now that we've been given a new chunk of information we have even more questions! A couple of my own thoughts:

I think the call out for a possible suicide makes sense. A 911 call with "yelling" and a hangup with no one answering the callback could imply DV and so a suicide or murder suicide. I doubt the dispatcher thought about a home invasion.

Regarding the kicked in door. That had me scratching my head for a while but I've concluded (JMO) that if the officer had to kick in the door to check on the occupants it would have been stated that way. So it makes more sense that the responding officer found the door kicked in along with evidence of a forced entrance like a splintered door or door frame.

IMO the call from LE asking about anyone having interactions with the Closs family recently or otherwise, friendly or otherwise is a blanket request. IOW, someone may remember an altercation which may point to someone to investigate.

The kicked in door, the dad being found in the doorway and the neighbors hearing two shots in quick succession isn't gelling for me right now. The timing is off IMO but we've seen in other cases that initial timelines are sometimes in error. I don't know.

Plus, comments from y'all questioning why someone wanting to abduct Jayme would come to her home rather than grab her when she was alone somewhere "safer" for the perp is a big point for me.

I'm stymied right now and still leaning to the theory that Jayme was the target but the introduction of a violent entrance into the house is puzzling. Did the dad come to the door to answer a knock only to decline opening it to whoever was on the other side? Did the perp just bash open the door and come in with guns blazing?

And kudos to LE for moving so fast and for having the wisdom to request assistance from the FBI!

So frustrating. Where is Jayme? Is she okay? LE please find her before it's too late!!!

All MOO.

How far away is the casino? Sorry I'm trying to catch-up, and particularly figure out how/why the casino is mentioned in call log

If Jayme had some type of online or phone use contact with a boy- or man-friend, it seems likely that LE (local and/or FBI) has been aware of this person since early on, because in the absence of other information from the home scene, any computers and phones would have been among the first to be investigated thoroughly. Such investigations likely would not have taken long. If they turned up a name, what might be their reasons for keeping it quiet?

“If you spent time with members of the Closs family recently, or if you have ever had a misunderstanding with members of the Closs family, or know someone who has, please call the tipline.“

Re the above, I doubt anyone who had a misunderstanding with the family is going to come forward? I mean maybe they will to clear their name if they think LE might learn about a misunderstanding...I don’t know, it just seems like an odd quote, like who would want to draw attention to themselves at this time? Hope this makes sense.
Maybe they are hoping someone else will be aware of any misunderstanding...

Okay, here's another "stretch" of a theory. What if it was murder-suicide and JC fled?

Again, I'm not buying that myself, but am busy brainstorming.

jmo, speculation.
Not buying either. LE said double homicide, no gun at scene, and I would suspect, no GSR on either parent.

In my opinion these generic profiles seem somewhat outdated. I’ve never seen them lead to an arrest in 4 cases so far. I think more research is needed by BAU in this area, moo.

And if they’re going to release the generic profile then maybe they need to add everything , like “may have changed appearance”, etc.

so....anyone wanna hear my theory?

Thank you! What does casino have to do with this/these crimes??
Nothing that I'm aware of, although it's believed they may have provided camera footage.

I wonder if law enforcement pays attention to vehicles they pass on their way to the crime scene......
In the transcripts posted here I read a notation that sounded like it was referring to that. "Advised ERT requesting pole cam." Also "Grab that drone."
