Okay. I’m gonna be unpopular for this, but what I have seen from LE is this:
1. Jayme was present during the shootings;
2. LE believes this because of evidence in the 911 call.

This is NOT proof Jayme was home at the time of the 911 call. The disturbance and yelling on the call might be mom and/or dad yelling “Jayme where are you” before they passed. That would lead investigators to believe she was there during the shooting, but she might not have been present for the actual call. Unless we can see LE saying Jayme was for sure home at the time of the call, I have to assume there’s a possibility that she and perps were well clear of the scene before 911 was called.
MOO garbled thought for today. Forgive if I missed something.
I'm thinking they must have solid evidence that she was there or they would not have made the statement. Jmo

I’ve got family all around the Barron area, and rumors and gossip never stay quiet long, but no one has heard anything yet regarding Jayme.

Come on, someone knows something. On the off-chance that someone who knows where Jayme is reads this, please remember that she is a 13 year old girl whose parents are dead. She needs her grandpa and her aunt and her extended family now more than ever. Speak up! Say something! Help save Jayme!

Lol. That was funny. Thanks for the share. I picture you guys with 5 tvs and 10 different sport games playing on each one. Lol.

Just kidding.

We just got an 82” TV installed this weekend and we have directv Sunday ticket. Soooo you’re pretty on point dex.

I thought of the possibility of the tv being on as well, as there might have been background noise preventing them from hearing all the shots. I've also thought that maybe there was more than one, if the father had one of his own and confronted the intruder, there was a struggle, and when he took Jayme he also took the gun with him. It would have taken several minutes to get her out of the house, collect the gun and any other evidence he didn't want to leave behind. But for now we have so little to go on, I just don't know.
My neighbor’s house is maybe 30 yards from mine. Both houses are well insulated. With all doors and windows closed I promise you he wouldn’t hear gunshots from within my house. In the case of he Closs family and their neighbors there’s 200 yards and a lot of trees separating them. They didn’t hear anything from inside the house.

What if:

What if Dad opened the door, maybe only slightly and then realizing something was off (sees a gun, sees someone he knows is a danger etc) and then tries to close the door quickly?

Just a thought that occurred to me yesterday while thoughts were swirling around the whole "door" issue. These are JMO and random thoughts. Other thoughts and opinions on this school of thought are welcomed.
He may not have even opened the door but instead called out asking who it was.

What if the dad came home while the unsub(s) were already there. Maybe they blocked the door with the chair that was removed from the crime scene and the father couldn’t get in, hence him being tre one who kicked the door in. He was shot upon entrance into the house. Perhaps he was shot after the mom was shot as they were leaving with Jayme.

The biggest puzzle is motive. Robbery is my main guess, most likely motivated by a need for drug money. Any lapse in time...some say 20 minutes? That could account for the unsub(s) rummaging theough the House. Sex trafficking is a horrific possibility as to why she was taken, and that part may not have been planned. I hope they couldn’t bring themselves to kill her and that gives me hope she’s still alive.

Back to motive, it’s been stated in these threads that the father may not have actually worked that Sunday. After LE visited his work they went to investigate the casino. Maybe they were tipped off to the possibility of the father having gone there on occasion, What if he actually won some money that day and he was targeted that way, and followed home. The door was kicked in by the unsub(s) and the father was shot first when he went to the door as it was being kicked in.

I doubt that would be enought for LE anyway. Also they said there were no words on call, as far as I know...just sounds.
If there were just sounds, how do they know it was Jayme.? Not arguing, you are one of my favorite posters here. Like I said, I’m not winning popular points with this thought.

I know tons of web sleuthers and admin are annoyed with me but I have to justify why I think there is something going on with the casino. There is not much else for 40-50 year olds to do in Barron. I know that my 60 plus year old parents are frequent fliers of our Native American run casino and yes they are churchgoers as well. I just think there are monetary ties that could have caused this. No reward being offered because LE knows this and would actually be what the perps want to pay off the debt.

I understand, and if only one member of the family was kidnapped or harmed I would think this was definitely plausible as kidnapping for ransom is a well-known crime. But in your scenario, who is paying off the debt if the entire family has been killed? Wouldn't it make more sense to kill Denise and kidnap Jayme to force James to pay someone some money? If they are all dead, there is no one left to pay.

This is why the IRS focuses on wage garnishment instead of prison sentencing for most tax crimes. You are worth more to them if you are working and making an income they can garnish than if you are in prison doing nothing.

That is why many people are skeptical. It does not make sense to kill someone who owes you money because your money will never be repaid. If the person is living, there is a chance they can and will pay back the loan.

Well who was doing the yelling? Who hung up the phone?
Exactly. It doesn’t make a lot of sense that the gunshots were heard more than 20 minutes before that phone call.

I have no reason to dispute the witness account however, so it appears that’s what happened.

The dispatcher heard yelling, so it does appear that the killer or killers were in that house up until that point.

Somehow, they managed to escape within a 4 minute timespan.

This is a long shot, but the assumption that the assailant(s) were in the house for 25-30 is based on another assumption that the shots heard at 12:30 we the first shots fired. What if those shots weren’t even related? Maybe even from another direction. I wouldn’t think hearing rurall gunshots at night out there is all that uncommon, and the neighbors apparently weren’t too concerned with it at the time either.
I thought about that too but considering there were shots heard in less than thirty minutes before finding the victims it seems like it's not a coincidence.

Yep, I think the fact is that the casino likely has excellent camera footage of the street/road and that's its only significance.

Personally I don't agree with the gambling theories involving Mr James Closs at this stage.
I may be wrong.

MOO.
I don't think James or Denise had any gambling problems at the casino or otherwise. Posters are brainstorming looking for perps.

BNSO contacted various agencies per the log including state patrol at 2:36, Eau Claire FBI at 4:02, Barron FD, etc. BNSO contacted security at St Croix Casino at 4:32.

Where I live, the casinos are on NA land still called reservations, and they have their own independent police depts. Someone else mentioned if there are issues about NA land or jurisdiction in this case. I think the issue may be that "casino security" operates as a distinct and respected "police agency". Contact at 4:32 AM seems very early in the case to start the tedious effort of reviewing street security cameras. JMO

I am hesitant to ask questions that have already been asked and answered, but this urgent topic is moving so fast it is hard to keep up even when you are following for hours as I have tried to do.

Has there been mention of scent tracker dogs being used at all? Wouldn’t that technique tell us how Jayme was taken from the area?
Seriously, why were scent dogs not used?

Unless they are listed in the will & testament......

I have to agree here. I mentioned in an earlier thread about an accidental shooting at my neighbor's house last year. It was a quiet weekend morning and he was inside his house. We were up and about (also inside) and had no idea it had happened until the ambulance came. We heard nothing.

I am very open to the possibility that more than two shots (heard by the neighbors) might have been fired.

A dog/dogs were brought in on the second or third day by LE. There is a video way back in one of the early threads.

Indeed. Nor would they have contacted Team Adam. Nor would they have issued an Amber Alert.

JMO.

Too bad they can’t tell which phones pinged from that address from 12-1am...rather than just from a tower...

Fair enough. I just wanted to toss out the thought.
