Can someone point me to the article that talked about how Jayme missed school that whole week before and Denise had stayed home with her. Thanks!

Haaaaaaa. You win.

In movies and tv shows, especially comedies, the door comes straight off the hinges and falls right into the doorway.

In reality though, the locking mechanism breaks, and the door swings open.

I believe it and I'll take your word for it MG. Hollywood likes to dramatize everything.

Sorry, just had to razz you about the sandals and socks thing. I have an image in my head of you wearing the socks in your avatar with sandals on over them and kicking down doors for fun.
:p;):D:cool:

For the last search along the 14-mile stretch of highway, they told volunteers to bring their own water.

With this number of people, I am assuming (hoping!) they have specific info.

Does anyone recall a search party this large before?

jmo

I don't ever recall a search party this large! I agree they have specific information with this location in mind.

That sounds like half the town!! They are going to also need to set up water stations, etc. We brought our own food when searching for Caylee.
Sorry for repitition but what is the population of this town?

Holy cow! I checked the Sheriff's release on the fb page and indeed, it does request 2,000 /two thousand. Mentioned three times, with it spelled out once.
Edit: correction, spelling.
I wonder if they think her body is there. I noticed the "have to be over 18" and must have a license part- they want all adults, which leaves out any of Jayme's friends or younger family members from being allowed to participate- great job by LE on those rules, IMO!

BBM Interesting how everyone assumes its a male.

Probably dangerous to exclude the possibility that it was a female, but males are responsible for a vast majority of violent crimes so statistically speaking it is more likely to be a male.

Very difficult to organize for that many searchers, yikes...esp on short notice. Best wishes to them all.

I hope they have a credible lead. At this point, it could be a tipster just trying to create chaos or get attention. I don't know why people do that.

I was looking at the Google map of the area last night and noticed that along side the train tracks there is a fairly wide trail. Runs to roads at both ends.

I'm starting to think this escape route is more likely than going on highway 8. Especially with the location of the search tomorrow.

I’m from a pretty rural area. So the crimes here are a lot like this kind of thing. It’s personal. In some way, it’s personal. I keep thinking that the only reasons people take something (or in this case someone) is financial but I’m not seeing that here. These are small town folks working jobs. There are casinos a great many places but unless we find there’s significant chances they frequently went I don’t see a tie. There would be better candidates for ransom if it were financial, I’m sure. B....is because you like/love the item/person and want to possess it and in some way in these cases the item is believed by the perp/perps to be best with you for whatever amount of time (could be selfish or selfless).
This post is MOO, and I’m continuing to think more and more that things didn’t go as planned for the perp. I’m hoping that this girl is found safe but am so worried about a panic induced reaction here.

Yes. If this was not an online predator, then I was thinking it is someone who can casually observe or even greet Jayme from some sort of "protected" position, likely his job. As others have mentioned contractors, mailman, utility worker, etc.

I do think that this Mom would have noticed if someone very creepy was hovering near her daughter, ran into them casually too often like at Walmart, showed up at dance competitions. And I think this Mom would have talked about the creep to her friends and family.
It depends how attentive she is and I'm more interested in the online dynamics and if she had a phone? IG, snapchat, video games enable secretive chat options which takes a vigilant parent to adequately moderate. That would be the easiest, and fastest way to stay connected behind the scenes and it wouldn't draw attention to the parents, IMO.

Authorities hoping for 2,000 #JaymeCloss volunteer searchers in Barron Tuesday. Gathering spot is a large farm 5 miles north of town on Highway 25. #FindJayme

Can you pull up a map and post a link? That sounds interesting.

I agree OBE. I mentioned the Hanna Anderson case earlier. JLD abducted Hanna after killing her mother, brother (and dog if I remember it clearly).

I was watching TV late last night and there was a story on about the Keddie murders in 1981. Three people killed in the cabin. Mother, son and son's friend. Three children left sleeping and 12 year old girl missing, later her remains were found.

These cases may be rare, but they absolutely do happen.

Yes, I thought of Hannah Anderson when I first read about this case. Also the Herrmann family in Ohio, who were brutally murdered and whose daughter, Sarah Maynard was kidnapped by Matthew Hoffmann.

Killer Stuffed His House With Leaves

JMO, there's still a chance Jayme is alive.

I haven't seen anything about this. IIRC, there was a teacher workday and no school on the Friday before. So they had a 3 day weekend.

It took me a while to catch up on this thread this morning! 2,000 volunteers....that's a lot. My mind keeps going back to the father's workplace and what happened on that day. It still has not been confirmed that he actually showed up for work, etc. and I think that LE is not releasing that info. We just don't know.

This goes all the way back to directly behind her house. Of course this could be old and maybe it's overgrown.
