Jayme likely had a phone, here is her IG account. Note # of followers and she is following 3 people.

I hope they're looking closely at her followers and comment section.

Looking at the weekly bookings there are a lot of probation violations that have come in over the last couple days, maybe that could be an answer. I am still curious about MAC and his record since there appears to be violence in his history.

EDIT: there's one guy on an information hold. That might be something!
Always possible. However, we need to keep in mind that because people who are on probation or parole waive their rights and are subject to search and/or interviews with police and they can't refuse. Because of this law enforcement often goes to such people because more often than not criminals know other criminals. In the process of doing this it won't be uncommon for them to uncover probation/parole violations such as finding alcohol in a home or that they have outstanding warrants for minor to major infractions. In Wisconsin traffic offenses are misdemeanors so there could be warrants for very minor things.

Depending on the law enforcement involved they may or may not violate them. We know in the case of the Delphi murders that law enforcement arrested over 500 people in the first 6 to 8 weeks of their investigation for warrants or probation/parole violations. So this can be problematic when trying to get information from the public because if there is someone out there with information but they know they have a warrant outstanding they won't call it in because law enforcement might arrest them on the spot for the warrant or violation.

519 followers? That seems odd for somebody that age.

I posted this screenshot in an earlier thread. It shows crime scene tape wrapped around a tree or post. What you see is barbed wire wrapped around the tree/post and you can make out a single strand of barbed wire at the bottom that heads of to the left of the post/tree. I don't know where that post//tree is located and I have wondered if part or most of the property has barbed wire run along it. If there is more of the property with barbed wire someone would have to know where is was (or wasn't) or they would trip over it or injure themselves on it.

The screen capture is from 31 seconds into this video.

Jayme Closs disappearance: 911 call came from mom's cell
Interesting - it looks like the barbed wire is simply wrapped around the pole rather than as part of a fence? Utility pole that that utility company wants to keep people from climbing on their own??

As an aside, I like the reporter on that segment. She spoke slowly and clearly - good job, imo.

I am off work tomorrow and think I may head to the search early in the am. I’m only 45 min away. Is anyone else here with previous LE, military, or search party experience planning on attending?
Wish I could - I live in Twin Cities area in MN and am about 90 minutes from Barron and actually drove by the exit to it on Saturday on the way to my parents cabin. Didn't stop and go through town because I was with wife and kids and didn't want to be another looky-loo.

My wife has followed this case from the beginning too and we agreed that we didn't want to bother the good people of Barron as we were sure they were dealing with enough attention, media spotlight, etc. Let them go about their Saturday afternoon.

Unfortunately we have clients visiting tomorrow that I am entertaining and kids have school here in MN otherwise I might think about taking a trip out there. I would encourage anyone who is able to go to do so. I know we'd all want the same thing for our families if it was our loved one missing. Godspeed and good luck on the search.

I wonder if they're like spam followers... I also wonder if someone set that account up after the fact?

Could they be recent followers, since this case broke?
Is that her true account or a fake one, as often happens when a case hits national news?

True, but the only 24 1/2 Ave nearby is in Cumberland, which could also be listed as HWY H.
Maybe residence was rented as you stated it was owned by a couple in MN. Family to notify? Hunting cabin? I'm at a loss as to how it could be a suspect that early. We've heard nothing abut any suspect a week later. jmo

it's possible she got that number of followers since she's been missing. i don't understand it and don't have a reason for it at all, but i've seen in other high profile cases that people will start to following the missing (or even deceased) person.

Does anyone know if there are any rivers, creeks, or bodies of water along the search route?

Theres a pond and creek nearby but it's a good distance away.

In the crime scene photos I only remember seeing a single window next to the door?

It looks the same to me:

Is there a norm for the number of followers a teenager has on IG?

This may be her 'official' IG account, most kids today have a 'spam' account they call them, for just their closest friends (stuff they don't want to share with grandma for instance). I have 3 teens, keeping track of their SM accounts is a full time job.

Depends on her permission settings too. She may have had it enabled to allow only followers of her choosing.

Willing to bet that a vast majority of those followers came after she went missing

Yes, this isn't a "real" thing, as there are no posts & anybody can follow it. I guess it means nothing at all.

I have children her age and IG is their form of Facebook, I wonder how long she had her account. IMO, 500 followers isn't that unusual. Classmates, dance class members, family members, teachers are also using social media to post homework info( I'm not a fan). I don't know is she road a bus to school but bus mates could follow her, just a brain storm.

Edit to include: I just pulled up my children's account and they have anywhere from 550-1200 followers.
