They might be able to trace the weapon back once they analyze the bullets. Might be able to look up who owns that type of weapon in that area.

Because of the loud noise, my first thought was a shotgun. Because I am too lazy to research this morning, does anyone know if shotgun ammo can be traced back to the shotgun used? I suppose the firing pin mark could?

I dont think this has anything to do with her dad being a hunter or owning guns.

Imo this was not about a robbery.

This is all about someone who wanted Jayme badly enough they were more than willing to murder her two innocent parents because they felt the parents were the obstacles standing in their way. IMO

Is Jayme their biological daughter?

A shotgun sounds like something a 18-25 male who is love would use because it is the only thing available.

Just speculating of course but if the suspect shot both victims at close range with firearm pressed against both of their temples with one shot for each it would kill them both.

Yes, of course. If the perp was in control of the situation at the time of the gunshots, two was all he needed. Two things make me think he had lost control of the victims, however:
1. Dad was found in the doorway of the house and mom was found in another room inside
2. The neighbors described the 2nd gunshot as much louder than the 1st (compared it to a car backfiring).
This made me think there was a scenario where one gunshot was inside the house and the other was from outside. Perhaps both parents tried to stop the perp-- with mom shot first then dad shot in doorway as they fled. There may be other explanations-- maybe dad got free after they left and crawled to the door, maybe the neighbors only perceived the 2nd shot as louder because the first one woke them up and second one they were fully awake, checking the time, etc... And there's lots we still don't know. We shall hear the autopsies soon enough though. :(
JMO.

Don't know where you would read that since a search of Wisconsin State Court Cases shows that both of her parents were divorced from previous spouses years (at least 4 years) before Jayme was born.

I only see the one for the father, which was way before Jayme's birth. Unless I'm looking wrong.

Where is the one for her mother, may I ask?

In a rational world, I would agree with you but meth makes people insane. The article posted provides a particularly heinous example of a Mother who allowed her children to be sexually assaulted and even injected meth in them to make them compliant. Ugly. The victim may have had a gun safe (also very common in WI) and they might have wanted the combination. Who knows? We have to consider all angles so we don’t just go down one trail. The Police would know if there was a gun safe, haven’t seen footage of one being removed. (They are very heavy!)

Look under the name Denise Hause - that is her prior married name. Her maiden name is Denise Naiberg,

If they left the shell casings behind but took the weapon with them if weapon is found they certainly can trace those spent casings back to the weapon used.

They must locate weapon first but the shell casing alone can tell them the guage used if it was a shotgun.

I think it may have been a high caliber handgun.

Oops! Sorry! I just looked back and had read the date wrong!

She looks just like her mom IMO. All indications are that they were married long before Jayme was born. Her dad had a prior divorce in 1998. House was bought in 2001. Jayme born in 2005. I think she is theirs biologically. JMO.

Shotgun shells left on a scene can be traced to a specific gun, but it is very difficult to do.
Depends on the age of the shotgun and how many imperfections it may have in it's "rifling" to leave any traceable marks on a casing.
It's not often the choice of the "casual" criminal. Too heavy, too noticeable, too loud.
This is a brazen case for sure.

Definitely can confirm that one. Definitely prior to Jayme's birth as well (2000) as her father's in 1998.

Thanks Gardener! I only asked as I wondered if there were rogue biological parents coming back for Jayme. Thought ruled out :)

Firing pin and extractor marks can be identified as to a particular shotgun...if they have the cases.
