Suspect's fiancee arrested, charged in connection with Sun Prairie man's killing

The suspect in the killing of a Sun Prairie man is charged with homicide and hiding a corpse, while the suspect's fiancee is also arrested, and charged with a felony crime.

Both 59-year-old Daniel Lieske of Marshall and his fiancee, 51-year-old Meichelle Goss appeared in Dane County Court Wednesday.

A criminal complaint states after Goss' daughter asked Lieske to help break up a party at the child's side of a Town of Medina duplex, Goss drove home all the party goers except 21-year-old Jesse Faber.

The complaint says when Goss returned, she heard a confrontation between Lieske and Faber, and gun shots.* Ozanne says Faber was shot five times.

The complaint states Lieske told Goss "...I killed the guy.* Now what the (expletive)."

We..see at 5:30 a.m. the person we believe to be the defendant exiting that residence again, this time moving slowly in a backwards fashion, dragging what we believe to be the victim in this case, and placing him in the minivan that was parked out front," Ozanne says.

Ozanne says surveillance video of the property confirms a cover-up.

Ozanne also says Goss could have done something to help Faber.*

"Faber was moaning and she saw blood coming from him,"* the complaint states about the shooting incident.* "She returned back to unit 2,"* the complaint says.

Lieske pleaded guilty Wednesday to hiding a corpse. A trial is scheduled for Jan. 7 for his first-degree intentional homicide charge. Once the trial is over, Lieske will be sentenced based on his guilty plea and the outcome of the trial.

Dr. Agnieszka Rogalska, Dane County deputy chief medical examiner, testifying Monday at the first-degree intentional homicide trial of Daniel Lieske, said Jesse Faber was shot at least five times. The first three wounds were almost certainly the two to his back and the one behind his left ear, she said.

Rogalska’s testimony came as Lieske’s attorneys prepare to try to convince a jury that Lieske shot Faber in self-defense on Jan. 16, 2018, at Lieske’s rural Marshall home.

Marshall man found guilty in fatal shooting of Sun Prairie man

A jury has found a Marshall man guilty of killing a 21-year-old Sun Prairie man last January.

Daniel Lieske, 60, now faces life in prison for the first-degree intentional homicide of 21-year-old Jesse Faber. Lieske fatally shot Faber at Lieske’s Box Elder Home on Jan. 16, 2018 after a party.

A jury delivered the verdict Wednesday afternoon Jan. 16 2019, in Dane County Circuit Court following two days of deliberations.
