I thought this happened in Illinois.
The car was found in Illinois but she left from Milwaukee. It could have happened anywhere along the way I suppose but my guess is that it occurred in the Milwaukee area. JMO

The car was found in Illinois. IF she was carjacked it could have happened closer to home.

Both her home location & where her car ended up are not terribly far from the WI/IL border, so it’s feasible that whatever happened happened in either state. Unless she made a stop somewhere after crossing into Illinois, it would make more sense that control of the situation left her hands before she left Wisconsin. But, who knows? Maybe she stopped for gas after crossing the border?

I wish more information would be released.

Found this article on another thread. Interesting read and startling statistics.

Nearly half of all female homicide victims in the nation are killed by a current or former male intimate partner, according to a U.S. Centers for Disease Control report.
Advocates: Greenwich murder discovery a grim reminder of violent reality for women

While this is true & is a huge & horrifying problem in society, neighbors saw her leave the house that day - by all accounts, alone - to set off for her trip to Illinois. She had spoken to her son on the phone & the conversation has not been reported as anything besides normal. I think if she’d been upset/scared/distressed during that phone call, the media would have reported it.
Hypothetically, if someone’s spouse of 30+ years wanted to do harm, wouldn’t they just do it behind closed doors, without potential witnesses? I guess there’s always the possibility of a spouse hiring a hitman, but this seems like a stretch here.

Could she have stopped for gas along the way and someone entered her vehicle and hid in the back seat and then caused her harm?

Good point - a lot of women get their purses stolen out of their car when they are fueling up and like I do, they are just concentrating on the fueling itself, especially when it's winter and cold and you are standing there thinking "come on fill up (insert HBO word here)FASTER!" Also, it's common to hear the sound of car doors around you at a gas station.

That would be enough to make me stay single, if I wasn't married already. Yikes! What's so sad is not every one of those men are considered "bad guys" by many. We've seen many cases where people stand up for the guy- they're shocked, in denial, even after they confess. There are some that throw off red flags, but not all of them.

I look at a case from last year- Roberta Snider- her husband killed her, and they were married for over 53 years! They still haven't found her body, but had enough evidence along with a confession to make sure he ends his life in prison. Can you imagine that- 53 years?!?!?!

Then we look at Chris Watts- there are still people in denial of his wrong doing, even though he confessed!

Some of these men look like good guys to the world- maybe they were, up until that point or just before when they started plotting their wive's murders. It makes you wonder why they just don't get a divorce instead of doing such evil acts- how can they not know that most suspects do get caught and their lives are forever ruined, as they'll be behind bars, loss of freedom, respect from loved ones and friends, etc. Why do this?

The body has been identified as that of Kathleen Ryan.

My heart...I am so very sorry for the Ryan family. May their mother/wife/grandmother rest in peace.

Thank you I will.
I just dont think fear mongering is right for this case :)
I don't know, it might not pertain to the case per se, but it sure is worthy of a read- especially for us females that travel alone at night. I thought it had some great suggestions.

I mean yes most of it's common sense. Who leaves their car doors unlocked overnight? But it does not provide any information to be able declare that it's anything but very rare occurance

I guess we’ll see when more facts come out about the case. What I can tell you is that carjackings in this area are not a rare occurance nor is having the car used for other crimes. I’m from the area and am very familiar with this. It’s not fear monger in any way when this is a daily reality in the area. I don’t think this back and forth is helpful in way.
