BBM I wish google wouldn't announce to the world that they do that! Why do it and then tell the pervs what they are doing to trap them? I would think the pervs would just find another way to share their CP since they know what google is doing.
There are probably legal reasons Google is required to provide warnings as to their security techniques even if only in fine print. FBI peeps set the traps when good reasons emerge for doing so.
Also, I think public knowledge of the tools used to identify crimes on the Internet could act to deter unwanted behavior, as Google doesn't want people to use the service to conduct bad acts and commit crimes.
That said, I also wish there was a way to identify these pervs for the purpose of stopping them from preying on children. The laws seem to focus more on protecting the rights of the bad guys versus protecting the rights of children to live in a society that promotes safe environments. Twisted.
Do we actually know how long the friend had the computer, or when they got it? Note, I'm not trying to blame the friend or whatever, just saying it's not really all that suspicious to me that a friend had the computer.
If I recall correctly, the mother actually called the number that had last been texted (at 10), and got some guy from Kenosha who claimed he didn't know where Kelly was, and that the phone/number had been turned off since then.
Regarding KZ's computer, no, we don't know the specifics of who or why. Why do you think leaving a personal computer in the care of someone else is common? Think of it from the perspective of KZ's age too.
He's a grown man. I'm curious about your views related to this as you've brought this point up before.
Here are my reasons why people don't commonly leave their unprotected computers with other people.
1. We use passwords for a reason. When I received my first laptop (versus desktop), it became my personal computer. No one was going to use it besides me unless they asked for my permission (I assumed).
When you're the sole owner, if things get screwed up, you are responsible.
At first, I didn't have my computer password protected. One day I noticed that my kid played games using my computer. The computer was on a tray in the family room and he decided to have fun with mom's new toy!
Not good. Dangling candy in front of a child is not recommended. After that, I created a password. As long as I logged off, I didn't have to worry about others using my computer.
KZ doesn't have children or roommates living with him but he must be savvy enough to password protect his personal computer.
Especially now that we've heard him described as a private person versus an open book type person.
2. Even if info on the computer is business related only, a man wouldn't want anybody messing with his stuff imo. There are programs available that make it possible to share and send common files to your colleagues.
Why would another person need require someone else's actual computer to review or do additional work on a common project?
Isn't KZ an IT professional? Doesn't that indicate he knows more about computers than most people do?
I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around why a man would leave his computer at a 'friend's house'.
Imo, along with KZ's current circumstances, I can't think of one good reason his computer wouldn't be with him.
WHERE DID YOU READ THAT KELLY'S MOM MADE CONTACT WITH THE OWNER OF THE KENOSHA NUMBER?
Can you find a link?
The only info I've read is that Kelly's mom has access to the phone records but the number in question was not in service when dialed. We can assume Kelly's mom may have dialed the number since she was looking for Kelly. Afaik contact was not possible/made.
BBM Well, now we know why he was so guarded. When you say KZ would only step out of the room for 30 seconds when Kelly was there, my curiosity is getting the better of me as to how you know this?
I'm basing this off of knowledge of KZ and not on directly witnessing what he would do with Kelly in the room.
mke, is the guarded characteristic an afterthought? Like, come to think of it, KZ was always private or was it something you actually noticed about him before he was arrested? I mean, was he overly concerned if someone showed an interest in something beyond topics he controlled? Make sense?
I've known people who, after you ask them a question, you feel weird because they clam up (when, to me, the question seems reasonable when trying to get to know someone better).
Can anyone confirm that the actual gf was Meagan? I don't want to use the full name
On WS we can't reveal a person's name who hasn't been mentioned in the media.
I'd like to know why the media peeps keep referring a Kelly as KZ's girlfriend. They don't say 'friend' but repeat gf.
Did/does Kelly's mom believe KZ was Kelly's bf? Did Kelly refer to KZ as her bf?
Kelly has/d a roommate too. Not sure if mainly for financial reasons or if they hung out and shared personal stories with one another as well.
Just jumping off this post...
I just realized MKE was a verified insider!
Congratulations, MKE! :great:
I is sooooo beneficial to this case to have a verified insider to help us get a better feel for KZ... And Kelly...
It sounds like you have known him for quite a while...
thank you for answering our questions! :seeya:
IHAVENOCLUE, "Congratulations"? This word, used in these circumstances, cracks me up.
How else could this be expressed? How about, 'Great to have you as a verified insider' as the rest of your post expresses nicely.
Because, after insiders are bombarded with our questions, they're probably thinking they should have stayed 'regular'. lol! :blushing:
Remind me not to make these long connected posts again. Not my fave method.
