Yeah I started reading through the Wikipedia of past school shootings and I’ve only got through the 1970s so far but I’ve seen at least like three or four girls.

It's rare in comparison.
My theory is that girls internalize depression, and suffering vs lashing out in gun violence towards others, but I can easily see that changing.

I actually think this would deter further shootings more than anything else in the immediate future. I don’t think it’ll ever happen, as we are a society of “needing” to know all the things, all the time. But there’s something that fundamentally changed when news went from a 30 minute time slot a few times a day and a daily newspaper to a 24/7 thing we carry around on our person at all times.

I agree, it's gone from news to 24/7 info-entertainment.

However, this article from Newsweek shows what it claims is the picture she took in the school bathroom just prior to shooting.

IMO very sinister and eerie yet so heartbreaking.

Not familiar with social media, are 933 followers if she just joined this month a lot or a little?

I just heard on my local news that the Madison police chief used to be a public school teacher, although it didn't say what he taught.

KMFDM means "No pity for the Majority" - translated from German.

I know I am old, but we always settled disputes with fist fights after the school bell off school property.

It looks like conflict resolution is not used by youth.

I think we need to be careful here. We don't yet know what "this particular hand signal" was supposed to mean. Is there anything to tell us she had any kind of white supremacist leanings?

The outdoor pic on FB, imo appears to be Samantha at NBSC's trap shooting location w clay target in the air, when compared w pix on NBSC website,** but I could be wrong.

In pic, was Samantha holding a long gun? Seems likely imo, but I can't really tell. AFAIK, handguns like the 9mm used in this school shooting, are not used in trapshooting or skeet shooting. Again, AFAIK.

Would entry level clay-target w long gun SKILLS TRANSFER to fairly close-range handgun competence?

Of course, Samantha may have also gained handgun experience at NBSC or elsewhere.

If the dad made sure that his weapons were locked up and secure, there won't be charges. Now, if this is another case of a parent buying their minor child, who may or may not be having mental health issues, a gun, then sure, charge away. IMO.
