Found Alive WI - Ryan Borgwardt, 45, Green Lake, 11 Aug 2024 *evidence that he faked his death and is alive in Eastern Europe*

How hard is it to just file for divorce, pack up, and leave?

To his credit, he didn't kill off his family before he left.

So no clue where he actually was when he called on the 11th? Could have already been en route to CA- and quite the head start to flee

Passport at home might have been reported stolen and he obtained a new one using photographs of the original? Have they said for sure he obtained a new passport? If so when was it issued and from where?

So sorry for his family- moo
He did, they found his old one at home

I hope she ends up being a he, total scammer. 9-10 it is a scammer.
No kidding.
Maybe Ryan went to a house or apartment and there were a few big mean hairy dudes waiting to take whatever cash/cards he had on him ?
Oops.

What a rotten thing to do to your wife and kids, though.
Not sure I'd want him back.
Omo.

LOL. Never. Happen. Once a man leaves me, he can stay gone. In this case, I would even move to terminate his parental rights. The grief he put those children through is inexcusable.

His poor family. His wife being a teacher it must be horrible for her in the community. Hopefully nobody bullies the children, kids can be very brutal.

He got a new one May 22nd 2024- while still home in Wisconsin
Thanks- that would be easy enough to do and no one would be the wiser if the old “lost” one hadn’t expired and was just sitting there-

That poor family- that’s some serious preplanning- moo

Stupid question alert- is it seriously not illegal to fake your own death?

No, not stupid at all -- it's a good question !

My good friend google/Wiki had this to say :

While faking one's own death is not inherently illegal, it may be part of a fraudulent or illicit activity such as tax evasion, insurance fraud, or avoiding a criminal prosecution.

Didn't it say it was a text? He could have set up a scheduled text and left the phone in the boat and been long gone by the time the text actually went out to his wife.

I am wondering a few things:
1. How did he get from Green Lake to the Canada border.
2. When did Canada "run" his passport
3. Where did Canada run his passport
4. If it was at an airport, where was he going.
5. If it was on a highway, what was he driving, and who was with him?

I'm new to websleuths, so please give me pointers on how to search these things if they have already been answered.

Would there be evidence to tell if it were a scheduled text? Could LE find this? Or do they just look like any other (unscheduled) text?

Truth- or if iPhone sent from another device all together- my watch and iPad can send messages

I personally wouldn’t know how to schedule a text/message - I could however stop sending location from my watch and iPad and leave location on my phone and then send the message from the other devices that don’t have location or find my turned on - no clue what type of phone he had -

Welcome to Websleuths, @VivianV !

I'm also interested in the flight plans especially, as I assume he flew to Europe ?
Also I'd imagine they've checked when he used the new passport.
Omo.

And yes it did say text/message not call- my mistake

As an adult isn't he allowed to go away whenever he wants and under whatever circumstances he wants? He didn't ask for anyone to search for him.
