On April 1, 2024, Robinson went on a first date with 34-year-old Anderson, and a surveillance camera captured the two together. Anderson, who worked at different bars in Milwaukee, had previously pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct charges after three separate fights within five years.

The day after the date, a hiker found Robinson's leg on the beach at Warnimont Park in Cudahy, and more of her remains later turned up in both Wisconsin and Illinois.

Prosecutors plan to call some 250 witnesses to the stand, nearly half of them law enforcement, including lead investigators from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, Milwaukee police detectives, and officers from Cudahy and St. Francis police departments, as well as medical examiners and other forensic scientists.

The FBI and ATF are also on the prosecution list, along with Robinson's family members, bar owners, and employees of the Milwaukee County Transit System
Thanks for this update. Thinking of Sade's family, friends and co workers 🙏🏻

WHAT.
The family sold the home in the midst of all this.

Has this been discussed? How is this even possible?
Anderson has remained in custody since his arrest, since no one assisted him in making the $5-million-dollar bail set by the court. It seems fair to surmise proceeds from the sale of the house might be put toward legal fees.

Per the article you linked, LE was satisfied the sale wouldn't hamper their investigation.

It was a duplex, and it's hard to imagine the tenants not wanting to vacate their unit right away.

Trial Overview

IMO, this is useful view of what we can expect to see/hear during the trial.

Brief real-time notes reflecting courtroom activity can be viewed here. Forty prospective jurors have been selected for voir dire.

Good to see in the court record linked above that jury selection is complete - 12 jurors and 3 alternates seated, 12 women, three men - and the trial will commence with opening arguments tomorrow morning. One step closer to justice for Sade, cold comfort though it is.

"It [cuts] looked smooth, like it would if you were to cut something with a knife or a saw," she said.

Donner led the scene investigation at Warnimont Park on the evening of April 2. Upon arriving, she said she noticed the leg had “no noticeable scarring,” and the “skin was very smooth,” so she assumed it was the leg of a young woman.

The cut severing the leg was “very smooth” almost all the way, but looked jagged at the end, Donner said. She said this led her to believe a tool had been used on most of the leg, before it was torn at the end.

The defense strategy seems to be to suggest that Sade Robinson eventually left Anderson's home on her own, in her own car, late the night of April 1 or early April 2 and maybe met with foul play at the hands of someone other than Anderson. They've pointed to the fact that Anderson's cellphone did not leave his house during those hours as evidence it wasn't him.

IMO, that's only evidence proving he was (stupidly) confident he'd get away with it if his phone couldn't be placed at any of the locations her car traveled and parked.

Maxwell Anderson sits at the defense table as the judge reads initial instructions to the jury ahead of opening statements.

Prosecution opening: "...intentionally cut off her right breast, which has never been found and intentionally cut off her head....which is still missing..."

GRAPHIC WARNING: Proseuction opening statement in WI v. #MaxwellAnderson - jury hears the graphic details of what happened to Sade Robinson. The state alleges Anderson killed Robinson on a first date and then dismembered her body. The details are disturbing.

This poor guy was walking on the beach and found a severed leg. WI v. #MaxwellAnderson

Wisconsin has had notable dismemberment cases: Chandler Halderson, Taylor Schabusiness, this case (Maxwell Anderson) AND our photographer just told me Jeffrey Dahmer‘s trial was in the same courthouse!

The highly publicized trial for Maxwell Anderson, the man accused of killing and dismembering Sade Robinson, has began in Milwaukee County.

A large jury pool was narrowed to 15 people on May 27. Twelve jurors will decide the fate of Anderson and three are alternates.

[Link includes trial timeline]

Anderson, 34, is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilation of a corpse, hiding a corpse and arson in the April 2024 death of Robinson, 19, after they went on a first date in Milwaukee.

The trial is expected to last two weeks and more than 250 names appear on the state's witness list.

Who is Sade Robinson?

Christopher Kuhagen

Sade Robinson was a 19-year-old student at Milwaukee Area Technical College who prosecutors say was killed at the hands of Maxwell Anderson.

Several of her body parts have been found across the area and later an arm belonging to Robinson washed up on a beach in Waukegan, Illinois.

The first body part - a severed leg later identified as Robinson’s - was found in Warnimont Park.

Robinson was last seen with Anderson after they went on a date in Milwaukee on April 1, 2024.

Her phone was located by GPS in the area of his home and then later tracked through Milwaukee County and to Warnimont Park before it lost battery overnight, according to the criminal complaint.

Robinson was reported missing after she failed to return phone calls and did not show up for work the next day.

Robinson worked at Pizza Shuttle, 1827 N. Farwell Ave., on Milwaukee's east side. A memorial was set up at the restaurant. Family and friends of Robinson have raised thousands of dollars for a privately-funded memorial in her honor.

Before she was killed, Robinson was a month away from earning an associates degree in criminal justice.
