Deceased/Not Found WI - Sandra Eckert, 70, Franklin, 26 Mar 2021

  • #21
Husband: "It comes out every once in awhile, 'you killed Mom,' and, uhhm . . . not the case (sniff) . . . not the case (sniff)."

Also, LE has put "a mile of crime scene tape" around the property and he said that he's taking it down. Why? Because it scares the neighbors!

I see she has glasses. I wonder how her night vision is? My husband would take my car keys if I decided I was going to drive at that hour. With my night vision, the deer, and being tired ( I get up early ) he’d take them - fearing I would wreck.

eta: I am 15 yrs younger than she

Husband of missing woman arrested while police search home

According to this link:
Sandra Eckert was last seen leaving the home at about 11 p.m. on March 26.

Her vehicle, a gray 2005 Dodge Stratus with the Wisconsin license plate 319LGT, was also missing.

Wes Eckert said she left their home after an argument.

However, this article states:
She was last seen at the home she shared with her husband of 40 years in Franklin, a suburb of Milwaukee, near Country Dale Elementary School, on a Friday evening at 11:30 p.m.

And this one:
Police say she was last seen Friday, March 26 at her home on the 7200 block of south North Cape Road.

Eckert says they had an argument that night. The next morning she was gone.

“I was asleep on the couch, I don’t hear nothing," Wes said.

LOL...it's not funny, but it is. He seems like such a generous man. I mean, he looks out for everyone! :) He took Sandra's keys and slept on the couch (I suppose to keep her safe), he wants her found, "Not so much for [him], but for the kids" and he took the tape down for their frightened neighbors. His poor bleeding heart must get tired & weak.

Generous to himself, too, for having her car.

Sure, just stick a stamp on her and send her home.

If he would be named as a POI, I'd say "it's likely he wouldn't invest the cost of postage in her". But he's not, so I'm not. :)

I keep wondering why her husband took her keys from her and then made a statement that he was surprised she had a copy of a key to one of his cars. It also makes me wonder if she left for a battered women's shelter if they didn't "get along" and he exhibits potentially controlling behavior of hiding her keys.
Did she really have a copy or is he just trying to explain why his car left? I’m sitting tightly on my hands for this one.

He wants the car back, her, not so much...

Police seize antique car, computers, phones in search for missing woman

Franklin police say they are not ready to divulge more information about the search for 70-year-old Sandra Eckert.

Investigators and state agents from the crime lab were at a home belonging to Eckert and her husband last Thursday to execute a search warrant.

Wes Eckert told WISN 12 police seized computers, cellphones and even his checkbook and mail.

He said police used at least one dog in the search of the house and property.

Wes Eckert said investigators seized his antique Model A car because he was told the dog got a hit on the car.

.....
Sandra Eckert was last seen leaving the home at about 11 p.m. on March 26.

Wes Eckert said she left their home after an argument.

None of this sounds like a good outcome for Sandra, I’m afraid. :(

If that car was seen, a 3 a.m. and seeing it was dark out, she could have drove into a body of water or her car, being old, broke down somewhere. I guess the key is finding that car.

Was it her car or his that went missing? An older model car like this wouldn't be trackable by GPS, right? And it's not worth a lot of money. I wonder what other cars they had (other than the Model A).

The argument is troubling, as is the fact that there was no activity on her cell phone, bank accounts, or social media.

I'm kind of surprised this case is not attracting more attention. I live in Wisconsin, and today is the first day I heard about it.

The husband is very forthcoming with information. Interesting. JMO

It is a bit confusing because the newer articles refer to the missing car as “her car,” but in his first interviews, her husband said SE took HIS old car because he took the keys to HER car. He also said he didn’t know SE even had keys to his old car (the missing Stratus).

Also: why did the police notice the car in Muskego before she was reported missing? Just because it was the middle of the night, they may have checked the license plate?

I believe they went back after she was reported missing and looked at surveillance or dashcam footage and saw it. I remember reading it somewhere but can’t remember which article. Will try to find and link.

ETA- I still can’t find where they said it was seen on dashcam so maybe I am imagining that, but here are two references to the car being seen by police the night of her disappearance.

“The vehicle was last seen by Muskego police at 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 27. It was traveling southbound on Racine Avenue, westbound on Tans Drive, and then southbound on Crowbar Drive.” Franklin PD seek to locate 70-year-old woman, missing for a week

“The missing car, police said, was actually seen by Muskego officers around 3 a.m. -- just hours after Eckert was last seen -- but they had no reason to be suspicious of it at that time.” Missing for weeks, investigators search Franklin woman's home

I interpreted it to mean that she has HIS car, the old car.
I'm assuming HE kept her newer car.
Upgrade.

It was his car that she allegedly took. She has a new car

The car thing is especially troubling because husband was a car hauler and junker for a lot of years. If anyone knows about cars and how to dispose of a car its him.

They followed the car for a bit because it was bar time on a weekend, sort of a standard practice considering how many drunk drivers in WI. Its my understanding police cars automatically run plates when they are behind a car

Oh Good Point!!... also anytime I read the husband says “my wife left after an argument we had” I cringe .
