I see she has glasses. I wonder how her night vision is? My husband would take my car keys if I decided I was going to drive at that hour. With my night vision, the deer, and being tired ( I get up early ) he’d take them - fearing I would wreck.

Husband of missing woman arrested while police search home

Sandra Eckert was last seen leaving the home at about 11 p.m. on March 26.

Her vehicle, a gray 2005 Dodge Stratus with the Wisconsin license plate 319LGT, was also missing.

Wes Eckert said she left their home after an argument.

Eckert says they had an argument that night. The next morning she was gone.

LOL...it's not funny, but it is. He seems like such a generous man. I mean, he looks out for everyone! He took Sandra's keys and slept on the couch (I suppose to keep her safe), he wants her found, "Not so much for [him], but for the kids" and he took the tape down for their frightened neighbors. His poor bleeding heart must get tired & weak.

If he would be named as a POI, I'd say "it's likely he wouldn't invest the cost of postage in her". But he's not, so I'm not.

I keep wondering why her husband took her keys from her and then made a statement that he was surprised she had a copy of a key to one of his cars. It also makes me wonder if she left for a battered women's shelter if they didn't "get along" and he exhibits potentially controlling behavior of hiding her keys.

Did she really have a copy or is he just trying to explain why his car left? I’m sitting tightly on my hands for this one.

Franklin police say they are not ready to divulge more information about the search for 70-year-old Sandra Eckert.

Investigators and state agents from the crime lab were at a home belonging to Eckert and her husband last Thursday to execute a search warrant.

Wes Eckert told WISN 12 police seized computers, cellphones and even his checkbook and mail.

He said police used at least one dog in the search of the house and property.

Wes Eckert said investigators seized his antique Model A car because he was told the dog got a hit on the car.

If that car was seen, a 3 a.m. and seeing it was dark out, she could have drove into a body of water or her car, being old, broke down somewhere. I guess the key is finding that car.

The argument is troubling, as is the fact that there was no activity on her cell phone, bank accounts, or social media.

I'm kind of surprised this case is not attracting more attention. I live in Wisconsin, and today is the first day I heard about it.

It is a bit confusing because the newer articles refer to the missing car as “her car,” but in his first interviews, her husband said SE took HIS old car because he took the keys to HER car. He also said he didn’t know SE even had keys to his old car (the missing Stratus).

I believe they went back after she was reported missing and looked at surveillance or dashcam footage and saw it. I remember reading it somewhere but can’t remember which article. Will try to find and link.

ETA- I still can’t find where they said it was seen on dashcam so maybe I am imagining that, but here are two references to the car being seen by police the night of her disappearance.

I'm assuming HE kept her newer car.

They followed the car for a bit because it was bar time on a weekend, sort of a standard practice considering how many drunk drivers in WI. Its my understanding police cars automatically run plates when they are behind a car
