Deceased/Not Found WI - Sandra Eckert, 70, Franklin, 26 Mar 2021

I've been trying to see if there are any articles listing what searches were done but I'm not really finding any, other than the search warrant at the home. It would be really great to know if water sources were searched. Lot of the lakes in that area are pretty shallow so a car would have been found by this point, but there are also gravel pits filled with water and couldn't those be deeper and hide a car?

This is one right along the road the car was seen driving on. The road on the right is Crowbar Dr. There's another much larger site where Tans Drive meets Crowbar Dr.

FYI for anyone who watches the dive sonar channels on YouTube - Adventures with Purpose posted a video,
, (which unfortunately is for channel members only but hopefully they will post it on the channel for everyone sometime soon) showing searches they did for Sandra this past summer. Obviously they didn't find anything or we would have heard about it. I was a little surprised that they didn't realize how shallow most of the lakes are out there, especially by the boat ramps, until they got there which didn't leave a whole lot of places for them to search. BUT, they did go to Wes and Sandra's home and talked to Wes, as well as talking to one of their daughters.

Wes seemed to give pretty much the same story of them fighting over his mother's will, Sandra threatening to leave, saying at some point he took her keys but she managed to take off in his car and that she had money with her. He says that he wants her back for their kids but not so much for him. That he so openly says he doesn't really care about her coming back almost makes me think that maybe, just maybe he didn't have anything to do with her disappearance. Maybe he knows no-one would buy a I'm such a loving spouse act, but to outright state you don't care if she ever comes back is ballsy when you know you're the chief suspect.

When Jared from Adventures with Purpose asks him if there were any special places Sandra liked to go by herself or with grandkids that are by water, Wes says that she was seen by a quarry. So, he doesn't really answer the question but instead focuses on where the car was seen that night. I think he's talking about the two quarries that are on Crowbar. AWP didn't search any of the quarries and didn't seem to realize they were even there, focusing more on lakes. Wes mentioning a quarry though makes me think there's probably no need to search them.

Their daughter had some interesting things to say, including that she has used drones to search area lakes and that they are so shallow there would be no way to hide a car. I think she was more looking for a body. She goes on to say that she would like to have someone search the Root River because her older step-brother (Wes' son, not Sandra's) has property by it and using location tracking on SnapChat, she knows that a few days after Sandra's disappearance that he spent the whole day by the river. She says that she's working on getting access but that it's on private property. She says that she no longer talks to her father and that he owns a junkyard so he definitely knows how to get rid of a car. She also says that she'd like to search his property since it's quite large with some boggy/swampy areas. One hopes that if there was anything to find at the property that the police found it when they executed the search warrant there.

I went back and watched the Behavior Panel video that featured Wes and one said that Wes talking about how he and Sandra didn't get along, he wants her back for the kids but not so much for him, etc. are "embedded confessions." Interesting how I think no-one would say things like that if they actually committed a crime whereas the "experts" say the exact opposite.

There's so much more I wish we knew - Where was Wes' phone and his son's phones pinging that night, next day, etc.? Was Sandra's phone found at the home or is it missing with her and the car? Where did it last ping? What was found at the home during the search? Have the police searched the quarries?

LOL I used Behavior Panel bullet points as I listened to Wes in this Adventures with Purpose video. He tells the fellas all kinds of things they didn't ask. Interesting.

I love, love, love the Behavior Panel. There's a part right after the one says Wes is making embedded confessions where he talks about Wes saying Sandra came downstairs with her coat on and he's all no she didn't, she's in Wisconsin, no-one comes downstairs with their coat on, they come downstairs and then put their coat on. I don't know why it makes me laugh so much, but it does. Maybe because I'm in Wisconsin.

Yes, this video is now available for all to watch on UT. I subscribe to their channel but I am not a member. It was very interesting. I was surprised the husband let AWP put his recorded voice as part of the video. As others have noted, Sandra's husband said alot freely. I didn't get a good feeling from him, not just from what he said, but his whole tone. Of course, I had preconceived impressions of him already, I mean, the title of the video alone.... ;)

How many of these cases do we see? The most obvious perpetrators are being rewarded for their skill in being able to conceal a body. Smug in the knowledge that without a body, they are home free. DA's don't want to indict the usual ham sandwich. It's not a winnable case. Take it to trial. The practice will do you good. Even if you lose, taking a stab at justice is better than not pursuing it at all.

But if they take it to court and the defendant is found not guilty, double jeopardy attaches. Then if evidence surfaces later that can convict the defendant, the DA's hands are tied.

Shortly before midnight on March 26, 2021, 70-year-old Sandra Eckert got into a fight with her husband. It wasn't their first, in fact, it may not have been their first that day. Sandra and her husband had remained in a mutually miserable marriage that was plagued by COVID quarantines, inheritance disputes, and other issues. So when Sandra and her husband's vehicle disappeared around 11:30 PM, it seemed possible that she left in anger and went to stay somewhere else. But just a few hours later, before her family knew anything was wrong, it became clear that Sandra didn't choose to disappear.

Tune in to hear from Sandra's friends and family about their journey to find answers, including the last person to see Sandra alive, her husband.

If you have any information about the disappearance of Sandra Eckert or her car, please call the Franklin Police Department at 414-425-2522.

You can follow developments in Sandra's case at Help Find Sandy and helpfindsandy.com.

I wonder what info LE has to serve it as a suspected homicide?
I don't like when a spouse of a missing person starts out telling us that they don't get along \ had an argument just before they disappeared aka Chris watts "emotional conversation" w Shanann. Him having her keys is a flag to me.
This article said one of the LE dogs got a "hit" on a vehicle he owned. The article did not say whether it was a search or cadaver dog (they are normally trained for one of those specific functions, not both). Police seize antique car, computers, phones in search for missing woman

Franklin Police have 2 people of interest in connection to Sandra Eckert’s disappearance

Sandra Eckert, 70, was last seen March 26, 2021 at her Franklin home.

12 News has now learned Franklin Police have two persons of interest in the case and are investigating the case as a homicide.

Police confirmed they took one man into custody June 7th to conduct a search warrant at his Waukesha home in connection to a first-degree intentional homicide charge and hiding a corpse.

“We confiscated electronic devices and additional evidence from his home during our search warrant. We have not returned any evidence because of the active and ongoing nature of the case,” a Franklin Police Detective told 12 News in a statement.

The search warrant, as well as additional search warrants related to the case, remain under a court order seal to protect the integrity of the investigation.

The man was later released, and no one is currently in custody related to this case.

Franklin Police have not referred charges yet to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office. Both persons of interest are known to Sandra Eckert. However, 12 News is not naming them until they are officially charged.

Police searched the couple’s home in Franklin in April 2021.

Wes Eckert, Sandra’s husband, initially told police he last saw her leaving their home near Country Dale Elementary School late at night on March 26, 2021. He said the two got into an argument and she left the home in a 2005 gray Dodge Stratus with a Wisconsin license plate: "319 LGT"

Franklin Police said that car was last seen driving later that same night heading southbound on Crowbar Drive in Muskego, nearly eight miles from her home.

That car is also still missing.

"This missing person case has touched the hearts of the officers and investigators working it and our goal is to determine exactly what happened to Mrs. Eckert,” Franklin Police Sergeant Jeremy Fadness told 12 News in a statement. “We understand how difficult this must be for the family and the community can be key in this investigation. We are encouraging anyone with information to continue to call our main non-emergency number at (414) 425-2522 and to request to speak with Sergeant Jeremy Fadness.”

Some of Sandra’s children are offering a $50,000 reward for information in this case.

Don’t know how I missed your post! Duh lol

hmmm... i'm thinking the two persons of interest could *possibly* be the husband and his son, as the daughter (it being her half or step brother?) mentioned him and sounds incredibly suspicious of him. obviously just my opinion and speculation given the things publicly printed and posted and shared about this case both on the vanished podcast and in the news.

In an update Friday, Franklin police confirmed that they executed a search warrant at a Waukesha home on June 7, 2022, in relation to the case for first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. A man was arrested at the home, but was later released.

No one is in custody for the disappearance or homicide of Eckert, but police confirmed they have two people of interest, and that both people were known to Eckert.
