Air temp has little to no impact on water searches. WATER temp limits capabilities of the humans doing the diving. They cannot stay submerged long as the water is so cold - and thus their need to have locations pinpointed before risking divers' lives.

Well, have they trolled the water yet with a boat? I hope. Since noone has seen him, unfortunately I think he's in the water. Sad that a drug would do this. :(

drugs, paranoia, and text message to dad .... equals not good

agreed... i think this will end in a body recovery sadly. if this was entirely due to something drug-induced and he was alright i'm sure he would have returned back home/got medical attention after the effects wore off...

Search for missing UW-Milwaukee student enters third week - The Daily Cardinal
Baek’s phone was only pinged once, within minutes of his disappearance, when he was still near the residence hall, which LeMire said could mean the phone is off, out of battery, damaged or submerged in water.

Kristin Erickson, Baek’s mother, explained on social media her belief that her son’s text was apologizing for drug use, not implying suicidal ideation.

“[H]e would NEVER have killed himself. He helped others [who were] feeling that way,” Erickson tweeted Feb. 21. “He thought he’d be thrown out of college, hence his text.”

I know that's what she wants to believe but I am not so sure :(

Update on Sean Baek from the dean of students

If you search Sean's name on FB, you can keep up with his mother's updates.
I am waiting to hear back on any potential search groups.

Sean's mother's FB page has a post about missing him just yesterday. Her initials are ""KSE." No info yet about any future searches.

I've spoken with her and invited her to WS, so maybe she will come and join us here.

Thinking of Sean today <3

Jeez, this is so sad! Having that text possibly be the last communication you had from your son...it cuts deeply....both ways! I pray he is found so this family can get the answers the are desperate for.

Police respond to subject in Milwaukee River, 20-year-old man pronounced dead
Body of young man found in Milwaukee River on Monday near Holton Street bridge
The body was found in the river in the 1900 block of North Commerce Street near the Holton Street bridge shortly before 5 p.m., police reported.
This is about a half mile downstream from where Sean was last seen. The body is still unidentified at this time.

Here's a GREAT!!! local write up recently done about Sean: Into the Night: The Search for UW-Milwaukee Student Sean Baek

There were a lot of “lasts” that night. The last time he was caught on camera was outside the residence hall on the corner of Cambridge and North Avenue, which, in that area, is a strip of college bars and restaurants in one direction and the Milwaukee River in the other. The last person to see him was an eyewitness who saw him continue down North Avenue in the direction of the nearby Milwaukee River, according to LeMire. The last person to hear from him was his dad, through a text, added the police chief.

“I love you guys, I am so sorry. I promise I’m happy.

BBM. That part of the message is news to me, and very interesting if this body is indeed Sean (which I pray it isn't, but things are looking that way).

Here is a photo of the bridge and the river:

Stanke Erickson, Baek’s mother, created a Facebook post a few days after Baek went missing about a psychic’s visions that said Baek was taken by a luxury silver van and transported to the North Lakeshore Area of Chicago. She said she did not call a 1-800 number for a psychic. She has known the psychic she talked to for over seven years and other friends of hers have talked to this psychic as well. Stanke Erickson said she would not have put it out there if she didn’t believe it.

His family has not publicly made any statements since the body has been found.

Praying for Sean. He is a very loved guy.

I wonder what he meant by the last sentence, "I'm so happy". This is a shame. I looked at the Milwaukee Sentinel/Journal newspaper and did not see anything yet.

Me too. The insulin-dependency broke my heart from the beginning, as it reminded me of Michael 'Chip' Campbell. :(
