GUILTY WI - Slenderman Case Morgan Geyser & Anissa Weier Sentenced to Mental Hospitals

Well… she was last seen within a few miles from my house so, this is an interesting Sunday.

Having followed the case I think Geyser really was crazy and really believed in Slendermann while Weier was a budding psychopath who had knew what was real and they just took advantage of each other. Whether crazy evil or sane evil is more dangerous I don't know.

Find her and return her to institution or jail for life, she obviously can’t be trusted.

Never should have been released and once found, throw away the key.

I certainly hope her victim is being protected. That poor girl. As if she hasn’t been through enough.

So predictable.

Moo.

Imo, she needs to be in prison for life before she actually does kill someone this time.

I wonder who this “adult acquaintance” is? How much exposure does she have to people outside of her group home?

My understanding is she was sentenced to a max of 40 years. I would imagine that would include time served. Unless she commits another crime she will be out by the time shes 52 at the absolute latest.

Pretty scary stuff.
It doesn’t sound like she was being monitored very well to me. Someone with her history should have certain materials censored and unavailable, and they should keep a close eye on who she’s communicating with.
If I lived in Wisconsin, I’d be locking my doors.

This whole development is pretty surprising to say the least, but after reading these details of the questionable early release, it seems quite predictable in hindsight. Luckily, I highly doubt she has the mental acuity to stay on the lam for much longer or track down the victim. My main concern would honestly be that she kills herself before being caught.

<modsnip- off topic> I’ve been on here for years and I lurk a lot but I was just so blown away by this news today that I had to comment!! I work in forensics/mental health and remember this case well from years ago. Just found it so bizarre. And such a horribly disappointing outcome at the mo… @RobertCatesby I hope you’re right about her not having the mental acuity to get away with this!

She was supposed to be held for up to 40 years in a mental health facility. She started pushing/pleading for downgrade to a group home/community facility last year. I believe the headline was something along the lines of “Judge decides to release ‘Slender Man’ attempted killer to community - despite red flags”. The red flags were apparently reading a book about serial killers and sexual fetishes and also having communication with a man who’s a collector of serial killer memorabilia. They reportedly exchanged hand-drawn pics of decapitated bodies and messages about how they’d like to be together.

What we know:
State health officials argued in March that Geyser couldn’t be trusted after learning that she hadn’t told her therapists that she had read a novel about murder and black market organ sales. They also alleged she had been communicating with a man who collects murder memorabilia and sent him her own sketch of a decapitated body and a postcard saying she wants to be intimate with him.

Cotton countered that Geyser only read what the facility allowed, and staff knew she had been communicating with the collector. He added that she stopped talking to the man in 2024 after she discovered he was selling things she sent him. Bohren concluded that Geyser wasn’t trying to hide anything and ordered state health officials to continue developing a release plan

The book was Rent Boy by Gary Indiana

Does anyone know where her group home was located?
