It's possible. As far as I could tell, there is no regional bus line that goes from Madison to Posen--they seem to stop at O'Hare Airport in Chicago with a few that go near the train station or the Greyhound station in downtown Chicago. The weather around here was pretty much low to mid 50s yesterday, nice enough especially for this time of year and nothing someone who grew up in Wisconsin would worry about.

Walking the entire distance would have taken easily 7-8 hours. I suspect for at least part of the way they rode the Metra (Chicago area commuter train) and/or local Pace busses.

Well, to his credit, the male friend did ask to visit her. I don't think he would be particularly dangerous by himself, the danger is how easily she can manipulate him.

Safe from the group home's irrational rules of not allowing the group home residents to have visitors in the house? Doesn't seem like a harsh condition to have to follow, given the circumstances.

Imo she is still a very dangerous person with no grasp on the reality of life. She needs to be placed in more secure accomodation clearly.

In a brief Chicago hearing, Morgan Geyser waived extradition to Wisconsin following her capture. The Slender Man case convict escaped custody this weekend.

Morgan Geyser, convicted in the 2014 “Slender Man” stabbing, waived her right to an extradition hearing in a Chicago courtroom on Tuesday.

The hearing lasted less than 10 minutes. Geyser, 23, appeared in a blue jail jumpsuit and was handcuffed behind her back. She was in court on a warrant for first-degree attempted homicide.

The judge stated that Waukesha County, Wisconsin, has 30 days to transport her, but added, “hopefully it’ll be much quicker than that and you can get back there and get this matter resolved.”

The amount of online vehemence thrown at this woman for escaping has been insane. What she did was clearly wrong, but people on social media are making her sound like some sort of serial killer with hundreds of bodies instead of a mentally ill person who killed someone while operating under a delusion. I don’t think this deserved to be a highlighted topic on reddit and other international news and I think the amount of reporting has less to do with the murder and more to do with existing societal biases.

I think the reaction most folks have had is completely appropriate given her actions and intentions in the attempted murder of her friend. This is the stuff of nightmares, and it's entirely realistic folks would be afraid of her.

I'm glad they caught her, and I hope she remains locked up & away from the public.

She didn't kill the victim, just left her for dead so she had to crawl out of the woods and was saved by a guy on a bike. The vehemence towards a near-murderer doesn't bother me, look what they're still doing to Shanann Watts who was the victim. That really bothers me.

Personally, I'd prefer if the world didn't find out how distorted her thinking is at the moment via another horrendous attack.

This is mindboggling to me. That the judicial system seemingly has no real say in whether or not her group home gig is revoked. Really. The health department is going to decide this?
This convicted assaulter has been completely mismanaged. She’s at a group home to be monitored! How is it she’s got people crawling in her windows at night?
Danger to the public as a consideration, no longer exists.

Morgan Geyser was not found criminally liable. Basically, she plead guilty, but under the plea agreement, it was more like the insanity defense. So since she wasn't held criminally liable, it makes sense it would be the health department calling the shots. The group home is likely one for the severely mentally ill rather than criminals.
