Found Safe WI - SMF, 16, Beaver Dam, 2 Feb 2025 *3 mo's pregnant, believed to be with 40-year-old father of the baby*

What are the logistics of crossing the border? I presume they would use a forged passport to show she's at least 18? That wouldn't be cheap.

I hope GD has been put on the usual lists/notifications to alert authorities if he attempts to cross into Mexico.

IMO I think he's gone to somewhere he used to live or is familiar with. People are creatures of habit. Crossing the border would attract a lot of heat/attention.
At this point, they could probably easily hide in the ozarks, especially if he is getting support from someone who wouldn’t see this as wrong. Moo

IMO, if anyone remembers the case some years back of T.Cummings, a teacher who went on the lam with a teenage student he'd been grooming. After a few weeks they were found, essentially camping out. I remember there being a few early sightings of the two, and then they weren't seen anywhere for awhile until someone recognized them. I really think that's what's happening here too. Which is even more concerning now in sub zero wind chills temps in OK, AR, KS etc. I also find the braveness and grooming factors in both cases to be very similar and alarming. Just MOO, as always.

Another concern is if he would harm her or attempt to abort the baby in any way. If they did head to Mexico, could that be why? I hope she's found safely soon, she has a very long road ahead either way. IMO.
I recall that case, was trying to think of the perp's name the other day but couldn't bring it to mind.

My biggest concern at this point is a murder-suicide or a suicide pact. He has nothing to lose at this point, it will only get worse for him. She's the only one in this situation who can get into a better situation, so I do worry a lot about him either mudering her or convincing her to commit suicide with him.

Someone rightly pointed out that he has nothing to lose by now. I am worried about the odds of this turning into a murder suicide if they get caught or if the fantasy land runs out of steam.
He's not in it for that. He scams. He chases young girls because he can't act his age and loves that they mother him. No responsibility. I'd plea to him to finally do the right thing and be the adult for once and turn himself in for the safety of Sofia and the baby. I hope he does because it would be the start of him choosing them over himself.

'You had no right to take her': Sophia Franklin’s mother speaks to daughter’s alleged abductor

She is loved and well cared for, here. There is nothing you can offer her that we don't offer her tenfold. There's nothing. There's nothing for you in having her. It's she's our girl, and that will never change, and you had no right to take her

I fear this statement will backfire and make Sophia angrier and more apt to defend/side with the gross old man she thinks she's in love with and building a life with.

"I went to check on her because she wasn't feeling good, and she wasn't there," Leah Franklin said. "You check every room in your house, check the garage, check behind the house and she's just nowhere. And then you look at the Ring camera, and you know exactly what happened."

"She was obviously not happy with us, and that's why she left. And she wasn't happy because according to her ... we were breathing down her neck about her Internet usage, the phones and all that stuff," Leah Franklin said.

"It hits your gut," Leah Franklin, Sophia's mom, told the Journal Sentinel on Tuesday. "We want her not with that person. His age is obviously concerning. It is also the fact that he wanted to take her. The whole situation scares me. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen."

She described her daughter, the third of her seven children, as a "brilliant, extremely intelligent girl and an awesome trumpet player."

"There is nothing that has happened that has taken away one ounce of our love for you," Leah Franklin said she would tell her daughter if she could speak to her. "We just want you home."
OOPSY, adding link...

i wonder how they are planning to handle the birth of the baby
Ouch!! Good question...
Are they still together??
Will she (they?) go to a hospital for the birth -- if they are still "out there somewhere"?
If so, will they settle down somewhere? How about a job for "daddy" ??
This is so upsetting... :( SMH

bbm
I don't see it happening -- if anything, he may go on his own way. I can't see him wanting to be a daddy...
Just hoping she is okay and on her way home or making plans to do so by herself.
She is so young to have all this happen to her.

Same information as posted above, except that this article also states that family learnt about her pregnancy by phone when she was found in Arkansas.

I really wonder whois helping this man hide for so long, despite an amber alert in three States and multiple agencies involved. she needs prenatal care, meds/vitamins, proper food, proper sleep, and as days go by, new clothes. All this needs quite some money too.

is a health practitioner, or nurse, involved somehow? Just thinking out of the box here.
I cannot believe he does all this on his own, and looks to me planned. I hope all involved will be held liable, and I hope that LE is already onto sth which is not disclosed to the general public.
JMO as always.

Doesn’t seem uncommon for family members to aid and abet in some way or be in he know and remain silent.. two off top of my head are PF mother and BL parents… jmo

Unfortunately, I think that Sophia’s mom may have made a mistake by deciding to start doing interviews. People (as a whole) have zero common sense, love to overanalyze + criticize, and can be so cruel to innocent family members (especially parents) of missing people. It’s only a matter of time before people start claiming that Sophia’s mom is suspicious and demanding for her to be arrested. I hope that I’m wrong, but I see this turning into an absolute circus if Sophia is not found soon.

I don't think people will start demanding that she be arrested in this case (at least not very many). It's not like JonBenet where the perpetrator isn't known, and the victim was found at home. There's no doubt who Sophia's with and that she's been abducted.
