Wallace Lembke, formerly of W208 Main St, Delafield, was last seen at a tavern on Wells Street in Milwaukee a few days before he was reported missing on Dec. 16, 1982. A night janitor at Templeton Middle School in Sussex, Lembke had phoned in sick on December 14 and did not report for work December 15. Family members reported him missing the next day.

Police initially speculated that Wallace, who lived alone with his two dogs, left on an unannounced vacation. But when traces of his blood and bloodied eyeglasses were found in the trunk of his abandoned car in the parking lot of a Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge in Wauwatosa two weeks later, their attention turned to foul play. They found blood in the car (in the trunk) when it was located at the local Howard Johnson's, but didn't have a sample of Wallace's blood to compare it to (this was 1982, remember)

I just wanted to update you folks that I heard from Law Enforcement and they do still have the evidence and they submitted it to the lab in 2011. Although things have changed greatly since then, it's been submitted and handled and presumably is in the proper databases. :) They are trying to solve this still.

He was my great uncle and close to my immediate family. We always suspected a certain person. The story I've been told is this person has somewhat confessed when intoxicated shortly after Wallace went missing and his car was found. However when questioned by police he was silent. I hope to live to at least see his remains found.

OH MY. Do the police know that story? I totally want to snoop now. It took a long time (and a little nagging on my part) to get Wallace added to NamUs but he's finally there.

Um, apologies. If he confessed and didn’t tell the police when they asked then obviously the police know. I’m a little flaky today.
I’d love to know why anyone would harm him, what motive could there be?
