OMG, of course I remember...that was a very strange case as well!!! LE & press thought/portrayed she was guilty, Mom held daily pressers for somewhere near 3 weeks, collecting money, new hairstyles, fighting once on camera with her ex. that extra LE not there were called in! She ended up admitting to substance abuse problems & LE even thought she was guilty she admitted as she had walked out during or after a poly (nobody is quite sure). Long story short; it was a horrible, stranger abduction murder scenario. And...that case is one reason, I never say never and why I said "sometimes is a duck".

I think that the Tori Stafford case was eye opening for me. From all indications, it appeared that police suspected Tori's mother from the first day. I seem to recall police suggesting that it was an isolated case and not something that the community should worry about.

Even once the video showing Tori being led away from the school by a woman with long, dark hair in a white puffy coat came to light, the quality of the video was so poor that it really did look as though it could have been her mother. I think the final arrests shocked LE as much as any of the community.

I could be 100% wrong (and perhaps it is just me wishing and hoping that Kyron has been raised by a step-mom who really loves him), but I am still not convinced that TH is behind this. I am prepared to be disappointed, but not willing to make any decisions about her guilt until LE releases facts.

kbl8201, I just had a brief look at that sad case back in 2004:

Will County sheriff's investigators originally charged Kevin Fox, the girl's father, ignoring evidence that included a pair of shoes with Eby's name on them recovered near the crime scene. Fox was released after eight months in jail after DNA testing cleared him. He and his wife later won an $8 million lawsuit, but the case remained unsolved until the FBI got involved. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2010-06-17/news/ct-met-0618-eby-hearing-20100617_1_riley-fox-scott-eby-melissa-fox

I just really don't see this as a possibility in this case given: FBI is stilled involved, 2 polys, truck towed twice, multiple interviews with LE upto 6 hours at a time, Kaine moving out, what LE has said, landscaper, oh....& I do believe the cell phone pings did not match where she said she was. IF things turn out differently down the road, I will be right behind her...I just doubt that will happen at this point KWIM.

dee if i learned anything in the last 11 months, its nothing is impossible.

I totally trust LE will get the right person in this case...I believe/hope they will be able to produce the evidence that supports SM is telling the truth or not telling the truth' cell phone/phone/computer records, lack of video of errands perhaps (say she went to the bank, grocery store but was NOT on record), something will prove or disprove. Right now we are hearing about disproving. They are certainly building a case it seems.

kb...I swear, sometimes I think the entire purpose in life is in this. The understanding and constant reminder of how we forget all too quickly how nothing is impossible- or- dang.... even likely.

I feel your pain. :(

As for the FBI being involved, please look up Steven Hatfill and Wen Ho Lee.

Note: Wen Ho Lee eventually pled guilty to one count of improper document handling in a plea bargain after he had been worn down by 9 months in jail. What the press rarely mentions is that the feds could have made that charge stick against 95% of the researchers at Los Alamos; the place was a security nightmare. Forcing him to plead guilty to everything after they had bankrupted him and held him in solitary for 9 months was an attempt at face saving (which also backfired).

I think the most significant thing is that a federal judge apologised to Mr Ho for what he had suffered.

Both Steven Hatfil and Wen Ho Lee eventually received significant settlements from the government for their ordeals.

Of course, money doesn't make up for a ruined career.

So what are you thinking here GrainneDhu, LE has everything is wrong with the 2 poly tests, taking the truck twice, etc.? I am not following.

kevin fox failed a polygraph and they pulled his truck in for forensics too.

O/T...but I remember this like the back of my hand and thank god for at least that much.

And you are absolutely correct...no amount of $$ makes up for a ruined career. Or reputation. But then it's the whole 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation. Personally, I'd rather have one guilty man go free... but I understand why others don't feel the same.
Ugh.
I'd really rather there wasn't a need for our line of work.

Thank god for DNA, huh? Too bad it has to wait till there is evidence.

Eh...no harm no foul. ;)
I think most of us are spinning- and want Kyron found and found alive... very badly.

i've helped in a case where i believe a woman has now twice been wrongfully convicted of murder. the prosecution has never even proven that she knew the guy.

i guess all black rapists in vegas look alike to vegas prosecutors.

Yes- a very good reminder that the 'walks/flies/quacks like a duck is always a duck' is not always a duck- or sometimes a duck... or always not a duck...or sometimes a duck. (?!)

We need to think outside the box on this case, imo.

Hello, all. A newbie here. I have been viewing this site for a while and decided to join. This case is very disturbing and somewhat perplexing. I hope Kyron is alive and safe, but I fear the worst. My heart is with his father.

Yes, I heard about the Landscaper. It could have been for that very reason. My point is I think they have their person. But, they won't move until they have all their t's crossed and i's dotted. Plus, she hurried & lawered up with a high priced Defense atty. You don't do that unless, you are afraid of something.

I don't think she hurried at all. It was a good three weeks before she got an attorney, and, if I were her, with all the accusations and the witch hunt going on, I think I would try to get the very best counsel I could find.

MOO

IF she is innocent & if we want to look at a witch-hunt, it should start with the press & LE. Not blaming either, but if it turns out Terrie is innocent...maybe things will or should change that they become more forthcoming as the public gets their info. mainly from the press. Personally, I don't think this is a witch-hunt.

I think LE has told us the truth from the beginning & even now...with the little facts they have given. IMO it has always pointed to someone very close to Kyron...they have repeatedly told us.

If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck...sometimes it is simply A duck! Sometimes all the little red flags do ADD up, don't they??? If this case turns out differently; as a society we need to make changes!!!

BBM And sometimes it is another kind of fowl.

It is really hard to make a definitive answer to the poll question.

Now if we knew what all LE knows then it would certainly help immensely.

But as of now I really don't know what is going to happen or when.

If LE has evidence to prove any case BARD then there should be an arrest but if they have that then why hasn't there already been an arrest already?

So it is confusing to say the least with so little confirmed information coming out.

If Terri Horman is guilty of a crime and LE can prove it then I hope an arrest is forthcoming.

IMO

Fox News is reporting that there is possibly a break coming forth in this case...just a teaser until they get to the story, FYI.
