hahaha! I was doing the get up to pee and wonder where the snow was thing too!!!

What's up with that? I try to stop liquid consumption (doesn't always work ;) ) at 8:00, but I still end up having to get up to use the bathroom once or twice during the night. DH, too. I don't mind if I can fall back to sleep immediately, but it really pizzes me off when I can't

Boston Globe already reporting power outages.

More than 5,000 power outages have been reported, and officials in Marshfield are expected to ask residents to evacuate as the storm barrels down on Massachusetts.

Why would they tell them to go out in it? That makes no sense, you don't need people panicked and on the roads!

Not very much going on here in Saratoga Springs,NY, light flurries all day. I'm very worried about my family on the coast just outside Boston. We went through the Blizzard of 78, never do I want to see that kind of destruction again. It was awful, just awful for thousands of people.

I am really surprised Marshfield wasn't evacuated earlier, they evacuated parts of Scituate and Humarock earlier in the day.

I live out by Worcester (from Fall River area originally). Out here so far we have a dusting and some wind. I thought it'd be worse by now? :waitasec:

I don't know. This storm has a rating of 10 on a scale of 10. Ten is the worst rating.

Perhaps there is a small window of not so bad weather if they left immediately?

Me too, we'll probably have a long windy night and snowy night. Homemade meatballs on the stove and plenty of wine and beer will get us through. Garlic bread anyone?

Nemo is a tad "time challenged"

He didn't get to my house until about 2 hours after the weather peeps said he would.

Same here in Clifton Park. Wind is picking up just a bit,but not much snow.By the way, good turn out last weekend in Toga for the Chowderfest. I enjoyed myself a bit too much however. Too much fest, not enough chowder!

It was only supposed to rain here after a few flakes this morning, and then get bad tonight. Kids got out at 12:30 but our district said since accumulation wasn't predicted until later in the evening we would work a full day. Mind you, it never turned to rain, just sleet, hail, snow, all day. I left at 3 and people were fish tailing everywhere. Luckily, my old Kia Sedona minivan is boss in the snow. Even w/o 4 wheel drive. Very little sliding for me but continued to be scared of the other cars (and buses) which were sliding everywhere. Took me about 40-45 minutes for a 20-25 minute ride, so not too bad. But the snow is coming down hard the whole way (somehow it didn't know it wasn't supposed to accumulate until later). I did manage to stop at the "package store" a few blocks from my house. We just call it a liquor store, here in Jersey, but they sell everything you need to be snowed in. Liquor, beer, non-alcholic beverages, cheese, chips, etc. As long as the power stays on, we'll be quite cozy!

It's getting windy here, just went out. They are already clearing the roads. They should have got them to leave earlier. Is it Marshfield where power is out?
