I think this might clear up once again any misconceptions by another admittance that Caylee is really gone. Sorry if this has already been posted.

http://www.wftv.com/news/17659490/detail.html

Orlando criminal defense attorney William Sheaffer says the move by prosecutors means they believe they have a strong case.

"The state attorney's office has the luxury of waiting until they have the strongest case possible," said Sheaffer. "There is no time restraint."

Casey's inconsistent stories, paired with FBI lab tests that show Caylee is dead and that her body was at one time in her mother's trunk are strong pieces of evidence. But Sheaffer says there is most likely a lot the public doesn't know.

"What we do know presents a strong and if not damning case at this junction," he said.

Thank you.

I'm glad to see statements like this because with the recent antics from JB, I was beginning to question my beliefs.

Of course, every person on this site wishes she were alive.

I'm just SOOOO thankful Casey hired an attorney like JB. Soooo very thankful!

The only issue I have about George is....when he screamed at the reporters and protesters "That wasn't my granddaughter in the trunk of the car!! Get some common sense, people!!!" Common sense, really??! Well, then who's dead body WAS it, George?? I'd really like to know, in a common sense way, of course!

I think he said and this isn't a direct quote, that wasn't my granddaughter in my granddaughter's car. You need to get your facts straight.

I found it to be refreshing myself. At least one person in that family has some sort of human emotion.

what happened to the attorney who was seated with JB in court, the one who referred to Casey as a "steel magnolia"? is he still involved with this case? Or is Jose going to be Toxic Defender all by his lonesome?

Broderick, when did he pass the bar? This is the first time I've heard of this. He must have had to take the MPRE to be sworn in...what was the course he skipped on professionalism and ethics?

Certainly hope that his lack of experience or anything else is not helpful to KC down the road...should there be an appeals process.

Check the Florida Bar and even though he is in good standing he is missing this:

CLER Pending - Requirement incomplete
To comply with the Continuing Legal Education Requirement (CLER), a member must accumulate 30 credit hours over 3-year period and report completion by a set reporting date. Five of the 30 hours must be devoted to ethics, professionalism, substance abuse, or mental illness awareness.

He came on board in his current profession in 2005.

I'm pretty sure he is no longer working with Jose. Hmmm...

Well, that's true, there was some actual emotion there. Just the content was a little BIZARRE. Truly, I'd like to know what dead body they believe was placed in that car?? And where it is now?

Are they going to drop the fruad charges if she is charged with the homicide?? I hate when they do that. Why not go to trail on all charges at the same time? This girl has the attitude that she can get away with anything. I want to see her convicted on all charges.

Well, I think George was just speaking out in anger. Cindy? I think she's trying to mislead.

When I heard that remember that he is hearing constantly from Cindy and Casey - George has been under Cindy's thumb for so long, he goes to work, brings home a paycheck so that Cindy and Casey can spend- I really honestly think that George has been taken advantage of, I think he's the one innocent party in this, he wholeheartedly wants to believe the best but knows the worse

And I think thats why he hasn't been heard from lately, it's only been Cindy

I also think it's for appearence sake

<snipped> Casey was the troublemaker - because Cindy and George didn't want to make waves they allowed Casey to develop into what she is now - it happens when parents aren't parents and are afraid to discipline ... <snipped>

Yes, indeed. Now the State of Florida is going to have to "discipline" KC -- perhaps with the ultimate discipline; the DP.

I'm really surprised that Casey and co. didn't seek out a more experienced criminal attorney for her cause..the stakes are pretty high to trust her defense to this guy...

Welcome, always.

That's the defense strategy. All they really have to do is instill doubt. They've been somewhat successful by playing on our emotions. It's up to us to look beyond the pitiful cries and see facts.

No kidding. Having the guy who grins like a circus clown (makes me think of the words clown stomp) who buries the courts in silly motions is precisely why she will be going away for a long time. I hope his career drys up when she is convicted with 2 hours of deliberations. Just a dream I guess.

I think they would offer one, but KC would have to come hat in hand and be willing to lead the cops to Caylee if she still has not been found. Then, they might cut her some slack, but at this point, after all the hulah she's caused, the path of destruction she's left, her continual dogged determination to lie and obstruct, it won't be much.

Frankly though, I don't know what the defense could possibly come up with that would end up with a better result for KC that a plea bargain. Some bombshell that 'when you hear why she didn't talk/understand what REALLY happened' defense was hinted at by Baez in the beginning and might be tried, but what jury will realistically cut her much of a break for ANYTHING horrible, scary or shocking at this point since baby is gone with possible evidence of decomposition and by all appearances, not only didn't she didn't care and/or co-operate in any way to find her, but she almost certainly caused Caylee's demise. Of course, there's insanity and, let's face, Girl's got big, big, gargantuan psychological/ personality issues, but legal insanity is almost impossible. It didn't even fly for Jeffrey Dahlmer. Who knows what will happen next but sounds like, finally, it will be time to hide and watch.

Bring it.

Here's a link about a guy who got 20 years for taking the life jacket off a 7-year-old girl and leaving her to drown to save his own life.
This guy was in panic mode when this happened, so I don't think Casey will be cut any slack AT ALL.

I don't see Casey being offered any more deals in this case. She was already offered limited immunity and she turned it flat down. Her ship has sailed on deals.

This case will be a no brainer for the GJ. I expect them to return an indictment for Murder 1. I think the evidence that has been leaked is concrete and there is much more that they have held close to the vest.

We would all love Caylee to be alive, but most of us realize it isn't possible. It has been 4 months and not one credible witness has come forward to say they have seen this child anywhere. The evidence, imo, was leaked to prepare the public and the family for the worst case scenario. They are certain of their findings.

It will be most interesting to see if the A fam pleads the Fifth along with Casey.

Also what happened to that lead about the person who had a picture of all the parties involved???????????

While the private investigators were enroute to meet with the man, he was picked up by ZFG in a spaceship being piloted by ET. Baez is now trying to contact Cpt. James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise to see if he will take time out from his 5-year-mission to pursue these scalawags! Updates coming soon.

edited to add: And also for Casey to demonstrate an act of good faith by returning ET's sunglasses.
