I can’t believe your employer would be so reckless with your health and potentially that of your coworkers. I would call your local health department and report your symptoms, exposure and what they are saying about taking time off.

I really hope your sister gets her results quickly and that you are both okay. Please keep us updated.

Im so sorry for not following earlier. My sister received her results back and was in fact NEGATIVE! Yay!

I haven’t felt all that much better but the tongue/taste thing is almost completely gone and back to normal. I will say I have felt beyond rundown and that hasn’t changed if anything it’s worse. I was getting home from work around 7am and settled in bed to try to sleep by 8, and there until time to go back for another night 12 pretty much. Even over the weekend when I didn’t work I was in bed by 8p or so and not getting up till about 4pm daily. Though the flip from overnight 12s to “normal” coupled with I’ve never been a good sleeper to start with also contribute.

Yesterday my throat started hurting. I went to bed around 830p (working day 12s this week), and just woke up 11:30p to get a drink, here I am). Everything hurts on my body right now but I had an extremely rough, physically draining day at work that probably explains that.

I’m so disappointed with my employer, I actually got the employee assistance program hotline number today because I’m not sure how much more I can take, mentally. That doesn’t have as much to do with COVID-19 as it does just certain management being not at all what they should be - long story short. Then my coworker and best friend just up and never came in Monday. When I was able to get a hold of her, she said she’s quit - not coming back. She didn’t like how everything was being handed, how we were (are) treated, and after thinking all weekend decided her family isn’t worth risking for any job. I can’t say I blame her one bit, though she got a decent tax return and has a little cushion to fall back on, whereas I pretty much have none and am in not as flexible a position. Still it was/is a hard pill to choke. I miss her terribly, our jobs required us pretty much at the hip all day so you usually end up loving or hating that person and in many years I’ve had a number come and go and she quite quickly escalated to being a very, very good friend of mine. We are and will still keep in touch outside of work, but just made work so much more difficult to be at right now. :(

Hello, I posted on the main thread about the annoying dry cough I have developed. Odd for me as I do not normally get coughs or have allergies. I have been using more chemicals in cleaning so who knows.

The only place I had been was picking up groceries 14 days prior to starting this cough. And that was an outside curbside pick up, I did accept a receipt in hand from an clerk and signed a paper. It was a quick interaction but close up. It was exactly 14 days later the cough started. Other than that one trip we have been totally isolated. I even wash my groceries. I do live in an area with large numbers of cases. Detroit area.

I cannot imagine that one small encounter at the 14 day mark gave me Coronavirus.

For those folks that might know, did any one else have a naggy dry cough to start? No other symptoms whatsoever. Been three days and it gets a little worse each day.

Called my doc and they were on the fence. Not much help but offered a test referral if I really wanted it. Since I work from home and don’t have any other contacts besides Mr Pirate, I don’t worry about passing it.

Thoughts from any of you? TIA

Hello mine started with a big headache and fevers.

I dont think you have it based on the probability and lack of other symptoms, but take the test - it will put your mind at rest and you will know for sure. I wish we had that option here, it's great to have it.

Well - just, Me Too. And some garbled voice mail from doctor.

I may or may not have it.

I've more or less made my peace with dying (6% chance if I'm positive - BUT - the current stats are based on people who had more serious symptoms than you or I). So I'm going with 2%. I'm going to leave this world sooner rather than later.

I'm thinking about how hard it is right now to get a modification to the family trust (imperative for various reasons), set up another trust, and get the house refinanced so everyone can continue to have a place to live.

I am lucky to have a doctor and a nurse in my family network - not sure I'll ever go to a hospital. Many reasons.

As an ordinary person, I figured I'd have about average life expectancy so was thinking another 10-15 years. That's still not a lot but I procrastinate a lot - had all of the legal things set up for this May.

Instead, I chose to have a broken tooth repaired and was forced to have a more pressing medical procedure, so no time to take care of the legal.

This is a nightmare for me, but I'm glad I've been through nightmares before. I'm a bit more detached than I should be. No one wants to talk about the realities of death on these threads. What we should do to plan. But US life expectancy is going to take a hit - it was already fairly mediocre, say around 79.

I'm guessing it will go to 75 after this. Which is fine (and the Bible-literalists will say it should drop to 70 I guess).

:( Oh no! Gosh.
Can you get tested? No fever here. You???
Is it possible it’s all in our head?? Allergies?

Good morning. I'm sidelined until the first week of April. I am presumed positive due to exposure to a known positive patient and I'm symptomatic. Thankfully they're mild symptoms. The worst is the headache that doesn't go away and being tired. I fell asleep last night while my husband was talking, I was sitting straight up on the couch. It scared him a bit because that's not something that I do. Still have a headache but I'm glad it's not the more severe symptoms.

I still recall people scoffing at this in the thread and saying they doubt any member here would get it.

I wish they were right.

But I’m very glad to hear your symptoms are not dangerous. Stay well!!

I'm so sorry to hear you may have it. The fatigue I found immense, so please rest. Dont worry about your legal worries, if it is the virus you have every chance of getting through it and can sort those out later. If you want to privately share symptoms, you know where I am xX

My co-worker tested negative!! I am so glad for her because she has a husband and five children at home. We just keep on keeping on, doing the best we can. We do not have any N-95 masks. But our residents are getting the best care we can possibly give. Praying for our country and other WS members as we all deal with this virus.

Nephew in Toronto has the virus. He became ill Thursday. He is ok and nothing life threatening at this point. Isolated from Wife and 2 boys. We have been emailing when he feels up to it.

Hope everyone is doing okay! Thinking of you all and your families ❤️

Talked with my Nephew yesterday. He said his headache and face ache is subsiding. Yes he said his face even hurt. Fever remains low grade. I'm glad it appears to be a mild case.

Oh crud! I didn’t know you were feeling ill. I haven’t checked here until now. I feel guilty. And btw, I will talk about our mortality all day long. I’ve been at death’s door so many many times in my life. Look at my tag line. I am a living miracle. I’ve been through my nine lives a couple of times. I do believe there has to be a reason I’m still alive. Without some sort of something - oh hell, I don’t know what to call it but I should be six feet under with all my close calls. I’ve been brought back to life from barely a heartbeat or breath several times. I’m worried for my family. I know if I get it at any level, I’m a gonner. I’m ready if that’s my fate. I’ve made my peace a long ago. Each day I’m here is a blessing.
Let’s talk. Don’t hold it in. I’ll listen.

How are you doing girlfriend? I started to get worried about you and had to go investigate earlier in the week and track down your last post to make sure you’re still breathing. Your lovely family? Are they happy and smiling?

I’d like to share something that happened to me. I was in renal failure with rhabdomyolysis in 2018. My fever was so high and my body went into septic shock and I was placed on a kidney dialysis machine. I remember opening my eyes and seeing this glorious purple light with tiny flashes of yellow that was so beautiful I felt like I was inside the warm pulsing light. The purple drew me into the light and I followed the yellow and stayed there with the light. That’s the last I remember of that until I came to. The nurse told me they had lost me and had to call full code for me. I thought I had been hallucinating. She explained I had a NDE. I’m no longer afraid of the light. When I see it again someday, I will peacefully walk forward.

I don’t know if this is what’s happening to you but as an adult I suddenly developed a weird allergy to cleaning solutions. I don’t even need to be in the room where it’s being used and I have a reaction. It’s not a typical allergy reaction though—it’s more like I have the beginnings of a cold. Sore throat, some coughing, nose doesn’t really run. Took me a long time to figure out what it was, but it’s definitely cleaning solutions.

Maybe try staying away from cleaning solutions for a couple of days and see if it gets better. Maybe stick w/vinegar and alcohol and leave anything that might be contaminated w/virus stuff for someone else to clean outside.

Also take your temperature. If you have a fever or your symptoms get worse by all means get medical attention.

Please keep us posted.

Thank you for checking in. I still cough but i am doing as you say and limiting the chemicals. It may well be the answer. No fever and I feel fine. It is not CV, I am sure of that but also not the time I want coughing and weaker lungs. I picked a fine time to get lung irritation/ allergies. Sheesh!
I an glad you feel better.

I'm fully recovered and returned to work last night. I work in assisted living (where I was exposed). I'm concerned for our residents. Mentally and physically. I saw some mental decline in several residents and others who are starting to exhibit symptoms.
