That news report was very stop and go (seemed like a bad internet connection or they are getting too many hits).

Here are some pictures snagged from the news report at http://www.wdtv.com/

News report also confirmed verbally that she went missing from her Dennison Street home.

Thanks for your opinion on her body language on the video. My rural internet connection won't let me view video. Was everything in the video on the print version?

Mostly....

In the WDTV article, it says that Mom went to wake her at 9-9:30 but police were not called until about 11:30.

Why wait two hours? Search the house, call the cops...15 minutes, tops! We're talking about a toddler, for goodness sake!

I agree. Are we sure she waited two hours? I've read that police started searching at 11:30 but not the time of when they were called.

Entry into the system often happens a lot later than the first call..i never worry to mcuh about that discrepency

Police say they've dealt with missing persons cases in the past, but Aliyah's is unlike any other.
"Right now there are no clues leading us anywhere. No clues. It's like she's just disappeared," Posey said.

I'm not liking the sound of this

I hate to even have to ask this. If she is in the river, would her body have surfaced by now? :(

WDTV article says that LE began searching at 11:30 after police were called. I wish it was more precise.

I can't see any reason why police would not begin looking for a child so young as soon as they were called. I think that it is unlikely that they were called as early as 9:30 but waited until 11:30 to look for the child.

Unfortunately, at best this sounds like a story about an 'absent' parent. At worst.....well, I just don't want to go there. :(

I just don't believe that this little girl just wandered off.

It's driving me nuts not to have more details. I know it would have taken about an hour for the south charleston & lumberport search teams to get there. I hope the local police started and didn't wait until the teams arrived.

From WBOY:
Search crews are continuing to search the West Fork River for three-year-old Aliayah Lunsford.
She was last seen at her home on Saturday morning.
Sgt. Mike Posey with the Lewis County Sheriff's Department is leading the investigation.
Posey says it seems that Aliayah just vanished.
More boats were being called to the scene to help look for the girl.
Authorities were continuing to question Aliayah's mother and other family members on Sunday.
The Lewis County Sheriff's Department, Weston City Police, State Police and the FBI are involved in the search and investigation.

LE's organized search efforts began at 11:30 - MSM has not indicated what time LE was called. Upthread a local mentioned it would take some time to bring in an organized search crew from out of the immediate area and he or she thought the response time was quicker than expected. (sorry forget which post and the local's ws hat)

From the article:

Police began searching for Aliayah around 11:30 a.m. Sunday after her family reported her missing from her south Weston home
